Having made his decision, Li Yun first swept his gaze across the surroundings and confird that Mu Lan was no longer present, and only after making sure that no one was watching did he let out a faint breath of relief before stepping toward the sword token.
The token floated quietly in the air, yet the space around it felt unusually heavy, as if an invisible pressure was constantly pulsing outward from it.
Li Yun’s eyes narrowed slightly as he approached, because the closer he got, the clearer he could feel it.
Sword Intent.
It was not chaotic or unstable, but instead calm, deep, and boundless, as if it had existed for countless years without ever fading.
Even so, Li Yun did not hesitate.
He slowly raised his right hand and began to circulate all of his Sword Intent, allowing the full forty percent mastery to gather within his palm, and in the next mont a sharp and condensed aura enveloped his hand as if it had turned into a blade itself.
The air around his arm trembled under the pressure.
At the sa ti, his Sword Intent began to resonate faintly as it approached the token, as if it had sensed sothing of the sa nature yet far more profound.
That resonance quickly turned into a reaction.
The Sword Intent within his body grew sharper and more active, as though it was trying to respond, to challenge, and even to rge with the Sword Intent lingering within the token.
For a brief mont, Li Yun felt a strange connection.
His intent surged forward unconsciously, reaching out toward the token as if attempting to establish control over it.
However, the mont his hand ca close enough, everything changed.
The Sword Intent within the token responded.
It did not erupt violently at first.
Instead, it simply revealed itself.
A deep and ancient pressure descended instantly, and Li Yun felt as if his own Sword Intent had encountered sothing vast and imasurable, sothing that could not be compared at all.
The faint resonance was shattered.
His forty percent Sword Intent trembled violently as it was suppressed in an instant, and the connection he had felt earlier was replaced by an overwhelming rejection.
Then the token reacted completely.
A terrifying Sword Intent burst outward.
It was silent, yet it carried an authority that could not be resisted.
Li Yun’s expression changed as he felt his Sword Intent collapse under that pressure, and before he could even withdraw his hand, a powerful repulsive force exploded outward from the token.
The impact was imdiate and absolute.
Li Yun’s body was thrown backward as if struck by an invisible force, and his feet skidded across the ground for several ters before he managed to stabilize himself.
The Sword Intent coating his hand shattered completely, leaving behind only faint remnants that quickly dissipated.
For a mont, the space returned to silence.
Li Yun stood still, his gaze locked onto the sword token, and although his face remained composed, the shock in his eyes could not be hidden.
He could still feel the lingering pressure within his arm, as if the Sword Intent from the token had directly pressed into his body and crushed his own without any resistance.
"Even forty percent Sword Intent..." he muttered slowly, his tone growing heavier as he processed what had just happened.
It was not simply that he had failed to take the token.
It was that his Sword Intent had been completely overwheld before he could even attempt to exert control.
Li Yun exhaled slowly as his expression grew more serious, because he now understood clearly that the Sword Intent contained within that token was far beyond his current level, and trying to take it by force was nothing more than wishful thinking.
But Li Yun did not have any other choice.
If he could not take the sword token through comprehension alone, then he could only attempt to seize it through force.
"If Sword Intent alone is not enough, then I will use everything I have," Li Yun muttered as a sharp light appeared in his eyes.
In the next instant, he began to gather all of his power into his right hand.
Forty percent Sword Intent surged first, condensing tightly around his palm as a sharp and domineering aura ford, causing the air near his hand to tremble faintly as if it could be cut apart at any mont.
Then ca forty percent Lightning Intent.
Violent arcs of electricity burst forth and wrapped around his arm, crackling continuously as they intertwined with the Sword Intent, creating a dangerous and unstable fusion that made the surrounding space flicker with flashes of light.
Li Yun did not stop.
Thirty percent Wind Intent followed, and the air around his hand began to twist violently as invisible currents gathered and compressed, amplifying the speed and sharpness of the energy that was already forming.
Finally, thirty percent Fla Intent surged forward, and blazing heat erupted from his palm as crimson flas ignited and coiled around the existing layers of power, causing the entire mass of energy to burn with an intense and oppressive aura.
The mont all four intents fused together, the change was imdiate.
The ground beneath Li Yun’s feet could no longer withstand the pressure.
Cracks spread outward in all directions as if the earth itself was being crushed by an invisible force, and in the next instant the stone surface shattered completely, sinking slightly under the overwhelming weight of the energy he was gathering.
Dust and fragnts of rock rose into the air, only to be torn apart by the violent currents surrounding his hand.
The air itself reacted.
It began to distort visibly, forming ripples that spread outward as if the space around his hand could no longer remain stable under such power.
Sharp winds howled.
Flas flickered wildly.
Lightning crackled without restraint.
And at the center of it all, his Sword Intent held everything together, forcing the chaotic energies into a single point.
Even Li Yun felt the strain.
His arm trembled slightly as the fused intents resisted one another, and the sheer amount of power gathering in his hand made it difficult to control, as if it could explode at any mont if his focus wavered.
