Xi He acknowledged realizing she was a woman, but Ye Fan didn’t believe she was sincere.
Ye Fan thought, "Even if you realize you’re a woman, so what? As an ancient cultivator, you can be clear-minded and indifferent, even cold-blooded and unfeeling. Would you truly beco entirely devoted to just because you realized you’re a woman?"
"Senior, I may not be able to treat you selflessly like the won around , because I’ve seen their wholehearted dedication. With you, I don’t see that. Between us, at most, it’s an exchange of interests. Please don’t use such words to mislead !" Ye Fan said.
Xi He smiled faintly and said no more. Her gaze fell on the girl lying beneath the covers, "Speaking of which, I’m sowhat envious of her. Although she understands nothing, she at least has had a mory. You can seal her mory temporarily, but after a long ti, it will inevitably unravel! By then, she’ll rember what you’ve done to her!"
Ye Fan said, "I am definitely capable of ensuring she never rembers. Are you purposely trying to stir things up, Senior?"
Xi He’s smile carried a hint of mockery as she looked at Ye Fan, as if her gaze said, I intend to leave this flaw in her mory. What can you do about it?
"Senior, don’t you find your actions to be harmful and unbeneficial? She was supposed to have a peaceful life, but due to the whims of Destiny and being used by those controlled by a demon, even I end up hurting her. Wouldn’t it be better for her to rember nothing, to live like an ordinary person, marry, and have children, leading a stable life?" Ye Fan said.
"Ye Fan, you speak lightly. I ask you one thing: any woman you’ve possessed, are you willing to give her up?" Xi He asked with an air of authority.
Ye Fan fell silent for a mont, and after a long period of reflection, he closed his eyes and ultimately shook his head.
He was a man of strong possessive desires. He would rather not possess at all, but once he did, he absolutely would not want to give up. Much like his feelings for Han Qing’er or Ling, even though they were purely an exchange of interests, he couldn’t tolerate their betrayal.
As for Xi He, and the girl before him, his attitude was clear: It wasn’t just about a fleeting romance. Once he possessed, he intended to possess completely, whether out of responsibility or ownership.
"Since you already know the answer, why ask?" Ye Fan said, closing his eyes.
"It’s precisely because I don’t know that I ask you!" Xi He’s tone softened, even carrying a hint of feminine charm, "I only ask now: If I offer my future loyalty in exchange for your help, would you agree?"
Ye Fan replied, "Is this considered an exchange of benefits?"
"If you say so, then it is. I only ask if you’re willing to exchange?" Xi He asked.
Ye Fan shook his head, "I’m unwilling. You might wonder why it works with others but not between us. It’s because I haven’t developed feelings of life and death for you. You haven’t done anything to move . We have no emotional foundation. Even if there’s a basis of Yin and Yang harmony, we can’t beco partners. Such is the law of nature, don’t you think, Senior?"
Xi He showed a hint of helplessness, finally sighing, "Suit yourself, but I believe you will change this mindset soon enough!"
...
...
Ye Fan sent off the girl, whose na he didn’t even know, to the place where Fa Ying had previously abducted her, awakening her there.
The girl collapsed on the roadside, unnoticed by anyone around. When she awoke, she assud she had fainted for so unknown reason.
"Strange, how could this happen?" she wondered as she got up, feeling so soreness in her body, yet unaware of anything amiss, as Ye Fan had used Spiritual Energy to heal most of her injuries and the Light Refining Pill for longevity.
However, Ye Fan didn’t let her gain cultivation skills, fearing she’d inadvertently develop a cultivation capability, leading to unnecessary complications.
Ye Fan and Xi He, hiding nearby, watched as the girl held her head and left, only then did Ye Fan quietly sigh, unwillingness flickering in his expression. Releasing a girl he had possessed into ordinary life wasn’t the outco his possessive instincts desired.
"You still have ti to win her back!" Xi He reminded.
"There’s no need!" Ye Fan said, "She has her own life. Our worlds were never ant to intersect. Our eting was a coincidence, and now we return to being parallel lines."
"You let go easily, but I don’t see it that way. I sense an emptiness in her emotional world. If you let her go, she might et another man. When she’s with him, could you endure it?" Xi He asked.
"Why couldn’t I?" Ye Fan countered.
Xi He laughed, "Anyone can talk tough. Take a look at what happens next!"
Suddenly, Xi He extended her hands, causing a qualitative change in the surrounding world. Ye Fan found himself in an illusion, knowing from the start how powerful Xi He’s illusions were. Being the Fire Sun God, she controlled light and imagery, surpassing even the small Red Crystal or the Earth Cave Guardian in creating illusions.
Indeed, Xi He brought Ye Fan to a seemingly real yet illusory world a few years into the future.
The earth and its environnt had changed little; Ye Fan could vividly feel it was the Hua Hai of his past.
"Is this the outco you hoped to see?" Xi He pointed to a man and a woman in the distance.
The man was handso and tall, seemingly a wealthy playboy. Ye Fan could tell his intentions weren’t well-aning. The girl was the one he had rescued, even shared monts with.
At the mont, she seed to be in a relationship with this man. They stood before a hotel, clearly about to enter. Ye Fan knew what was likely to unfold.
"Won’t you stop them?" Xi He asked.
"I won’t go over." Ye Fan said, "She will make her own choices!"
"Haha, keep being stubborn, then look below!"
With another wave of her hand, the scene shifted to a hotel room. The man led the girl inside, already being suggestive. Though she resisted slightly, she didn’t directly oppose him, as their relationship was seemingly amicable.
