Chapter 839: Chapter 835: Conversation

“Just sing according to your own style and rhythm!” Yang Kun patted Ye Fan on the shoulder and said.

Ye Fan thought for a mont and said, “Is this appropriate?”

Yang Kun smiled, “Trust yourself, you have the talent for it, and the band won’t have any problems either.” He turned to look at a few of the musicians.

The lead guitarist nodded and gave an OK gesture.

After that, Ye Fan sang a few more tis. After all, Yang Kun is a music genius, and in so sense, a master. His insight and musical achievents are not sothing Ye Fan, an “outsider,” can compare to. From a professional perspective, he pointed out the issues Ye Fan had and provided very good, appropriate advice.

Ye Fan was naturally humble and eager to learn. Everyone has their own specialty. He wouldn’t beco arrogant just because he was acknowledged for his singing skill.

The two got along well, one willing to teach and the other humble enough to learn. By the evening, when Yang Kun learned that Ye Fan was leaving again, he seed reluctant to part.

“Prisoner Two, can I ask you a question?” Yang Kun said.

Ye Fan smiled slightly, “Go ahead, teacher.”

Yang Kun said, “Last ti during the blind audition recordings, you never revealed any information about yourself. I’ve always been curious about your identity. Oh, actually it’s not just ; many viewers across the country and even the other three coaches of The Voice are curious…”

“I’m sorry, teacher, this…” Ye Fan hadn’t finished speaking when Yang Kun continued, “I know, I know, you don’t want your normal life disturbed, and I won’t pressure you. I just want to know, did you study music?”

Ye Fan shook his head.

“Were you from a musical family?”

Ye Fan still shook his head.

“No wonder you know so little about music theory,” Yang Kun said with so amazent, “You sing so well, it must just be natural talent.”

He paused and then said, “So what’s your job? Of course, if it’s inconvenient, you don’t have to tell .”

Ye Fan thought for a mont and said, “Let’s say I’m a governnt worker.”

“A civil servant?” Yang Kun showed an expression of realization, “No wonder last ti when asked about your dream, you said it was to be an excellent successor of communism. I thought you were joking. But now it seems,” he patted Ye Fan on the shoulder again, “Prisoner Two, I truly hope our country has more officials like you who genuinely care about our nation and people!”

Leaving the music room, the Maserati Quattroporte was waiting outside. As Prisoner Two walked out, over a dozen reporters and paparazzi sward over. However, this ti, the program team specially arranged two staff mbers to escort Ye Fan onto the car, so he wasn’t too disturbed.

After getting in the Maserati Quattroporte, Ye Fan was still driving, with Shen Yan sitting in the passenger seat. She asked with concern, “How did it go?”

Ye Fan smiled, “It went smoothly.”

“Your teacher didn’t make things hard for you, right?” Shen Yan asked.

“Not at all. Instead, he guided in many musical aspects. Honestly, I learned a lot.” Ye Fan said as he started the car.

“That’s good,” Shen Yan said.

While they were talking, the Maserati Quattroporte had already reached the main road. Ye Fan took off his mask and asked, “Where to next?”

Shen Yan thought for a mont and said, “Let’s go to West Lake. There’s a restaurant by the lake that serves French cuisine. The food is good, and the view is great.”

“Alright, as you say,” Ye Fan said, steering the car toward West Lake. After finding the place, when parking, Ye Fan noticed the paparazzi, took the mask, and prepared to put it on.

“Wearing a mask isn’t suitable in public places like this. Anyway, you just don’t want your face photographed. I have an idea.” With that, she opened the glove compartnt, took out an oversized pair of sunglasses, and put them on Ye Fan, then found a baseball cap to put on his head. She looked him over and said, “Though it’s a bit small, it’ll do!”

“You gave these, but what about you? It would be troubleso if people recognized you,” Ye Fan said.

“I have plenty of these things in stock!” Shen Yan said, taking out a pair of large heart-shaped sunglasses and putting them on, then finding a Hermès sunhat to wear. She gave Ye Fan a playful smile, “Let’s go.”

The two entered the restaurant, found a private room, and sat face to face. A white-skinned, blue-eyed waiter ca over, speaking so awkward Chinese. Seeing his struggle, Ye Fan directly ordered in fluent French.

A mont later, the dishes were served. The waiter had a bottle of red wine in hand and said sothing in French, to which Ye Fan replied with a few sentences, and then the waiter happily placed the wine down and left the room.

Shen Yan asked, “What did he just say?”

“His French boss gifted us a bottle of wine,” Ye Fan chuckled.

Shen Yan was delighted and suddenly asked, “By the way, how do you know French?”

“I spent so ti in France before, but I only know a little,” Ye Fan replied.

“Ye Fan,” Shen Yan shook her little head, filled with admiration and wonder, “Is there anything you don’t know?”

Ye Fan shrugged, “I’m not great at dealing with paparazzi.”

Shen Yan laughed joyfully, “You’ll have to deal with those people more often in the future! Never underestimate the paparazzi; they’re very shrewd. Usually, when soone gets a tip, they’ll notify other familiar paparazzi. So when you find one paparazzo tailing you, there might be five or six, or even over ten around!”

“Aren’t they supposed to be competitors?” Ye Fan asked.

“They are competitors, but this industry is a bit different. Often, they share information because one person’s resources and energy are limited. To capture more stars and obtain more firsthand information, they have to cooperate with others. Ultimately, no matter who takes the photo, the money earned will be split evenly.”

Ye Fan sipped so red wine and asked, “What if soone secretly takes the photos and sells them for money on their own?”

Shen Yan shook her head, “That virtually never happens because once the other paparazzi find out, that person’s reputation will be ruined, and they won’t be able to survive in the industry anymore. For the sake of earning money once and losing a job, it’s not worth it.”

“Every industry has its own expertise, huh,” Ye Fan remarked.

As they talked, they enjoyed authentic French cuisine, sipped red wine, and admired the night view of West Lake. Before they knew it, it was already eight o’clock. Seeing there was still ti, Shen Yan suddenly withdrew her gaze from the lake and said, “Ye Fan, shall we go boating on the lake?”

“Now?” Ye Fan was a bit surprised.

“Yes, yes, we can row until 9:30. It’s not too late to return to Hua Hai,” Shen Yan said, looking at Ye Fan with anticipation.
