Cleaning up the battlefield after a fight was essential. When a major incident like the complete annihilation of a rcenary Corps occurred, the rcenary Guild couldn’t possibly turn a blind eye. They would launch a full investigation.
After all, whether it was to maintain stability, prevent internal strife, or reassure its mbers, the rcenary Guild had no choice but to take action.
Although such investigations were often fruitless, if they didn’t erase all traces of their presence—for example, if the rcenary Guild found recording devices on the dead mbers—they would be in serious trouble.
So, cleaning the battlefield was necessary. However, Lin Xinghai felt that collecting the weapons was a bit excessive, since they couldn’t take them back to the rcenary Guild to sell.
But Fang Tianhe just gave a mysterious smile. "There are many things we can’t do through the rcenary Guild, but we can with the military!"
Hearing this, Lin Xinghai’s breath quickened as a guess surfaced in his mind. "Are you saying we can sell this weaponry and equipnt to the military?"
"Exactly! Right now, we’re basically on the front lines, fighting the Morgan Conglorate to the death. The military can’t just offer no support, can they? This was one of the benefits I negotiated for before we set out."
At this point, Fang Tianhe paused before adding, "Of course, this stuff is a bit of a hassle for the military to deal with, so they’ll only buy it at half price. Also, they’ll deduct a certain amount of Points for any damaged equipnt, based on the extent of the damage."
Lin Xinghai showed no disappointnt at hearing this. His expression remained excited, because even at half price, this was still an absolute fortune.
The firearms and ammunition alone were worth a lot. From two rcenary Corps combined, it would be at least 100,000 Points.
Beyond that, the Armored Vehicles were worth at least 20,000 Points each, and that was without any modifications.
With a few simple modifications and the addition of so instrunts and equipnt, their value would start at 30,000 Points.
The enemy had a total of five Armored Vehicles, which ant they were worth at least 150,000 Points.
Of course, the most expensive pieces of equipnt were the cha.
A single cha, even a stock model, was worth 200,000 Points. A few modifications could easily cost tens of thousands of Points.
Therefore, after modifications, a typical cha was worth around 250,000 to 400,000 Points. On average, each of these five cha had to be worth at least 300,000 Points.
But cha weren’t like Armored Vehicles. The Armored Vehicles weren’t heavily damaged—at most, so of their external armor plates were busted. They would be simple and cheap to repair, not costing many Points.
The cha, however, had gone through intense combat. Broken external armor was the least of their problems; the cockpit of every single one had been destroyed.
The cockpit housed not only the main control system but also the connections to all other systems, making it arguably the most crucial part of the cha. Repairs of this kind would cost a sea of Points—at least 100,000 Points to start.
Therefore, after factoring in the damage, each cha was probably worth around 200,000 Points on average, making the five of them worth a total of 1,000,000 Points.
Ammunition, Armored Vehicles, and cha—the total estimated value was around 1,250,000 Points.
Of course, since they were being sold to the military at half price, the final amount of Points they would receive was 625,000.
After calculating this sum, Lin Xinghai’s breathing grew ragged again.
"Once we get our hands on these Points, the rcenary Corps’s strength will probably take another huge leap forward," Lin Xinghai remarked with a sigh.
However, Fang Tianhe shook his head. "No. This wasn’t a mission, so all of these earnings will be distributed as bonuses."
Hearing Fang Tianhe say this, Lin Xinghai was genuinely surprised. Fang Tianhe really didn’t need to do this.
But after a mont’s thought, he understood the leader’s intention. The amount of Points was simply too massive.
If they followed the usual distribution plan, where 80% of the net profit went to the rcenary Corps, it wouldn’t have a huge impact on the high-ranking mbers like them.
After all, the richer and more powerful the rcenary Corps beca, the better the benefits and treatnt they would enjoy.
But the sa wasn’t necessarily true for the regular rcenaries, so this could easily lead to jealousy among so of them.
If, at a ti like this, agents from the Morgan Conglorate fanned the flas from behind the scenes and threw in a few incentives, there was no guarantee soone wouldn’t leak the story. If that happened, they would be in serious trouble, even with the military’s support.
But if all the proceeds were distributed as bonuses, the situation would be different. Everyone would receive a handso bonus, which would strengthen their sense of belonging to the rcenary Corps.
Of course, they wouldn’t lose out with this distribution thod. Although it was being given out as bonuses, the final distribution would certainly be based on rit.
And in this battle, the role played by the regular rcenaries was truly minuscule compared to theirs. Thus, the lion’s share of the inco would still end up with the high-ranking mbers.
Having figured all this out, Lin Xinghai couldn’t help but give Fang Tianhe a thumbs-up.
Under Fang Tianhe’s command, they spent the next half-hour or so finally finishing the cleanup of the battlefield.
After destroying all the personal terminals of the Wild Wolf rcenary Corps and the Fierce Tiger rcenary Corps, Fang Tianhe gave another order: everyone was to delete the records on their own personal terminals, leaving only the mission logs.
Once all that was done, the grand convoy began its journey back.
"Grand" was indeed the right word to describe it. After all, the returning convoy now consisted of a full nine Armored Vehicles. Compared to the one or two that a typical rcenary Corps might have, their procession was truly massive.
Of course, having such a large convoy wasn’t entirely a good thing, as it would attract a lot of attention and could arouse suspicion.
Therefore, throughout the journey, Ling Xiu stood on the roof of a vehicle, continuously scanning the horizon. The mont his Thousand-Mile Eye detected another rcenary Corps, they would imdiately take evasive action.
And they did indeed encounter another rcenary Corps on the way back. However, Ling Xiu spotted signs of them from seven kiloters away. Once they entered the five-kiloter range of his Superpower, he confird their presence, and the convoy imdiately changed course to avoid them.
In the end, without being discovered by any other rcenary Corps, the convoy returned to the location where they had first t the military to receive their weapons.
...
After handing the weapons over to Fang Tianhe and his people, Zhang Yue hadn’t led his team away. Instead, he had remained here, waiting.
This matter involved the Morgan Conglorate, so of course he had to wait here for firsthand news.
As for whether Fang Tianhe could defeat the Wild Wolf rcenary Corps, to be honest, he only felt there was a fifty-fifty chance.
After all, while on the surface it looked like a clash between two rcenary Corps, it was actually a probing test between the powers backing each side.
Both sides had done their best to secretly provide maximum support to their respective rcenary Corps. Therefore, the outco of the battle would allow them to estimate the approximate strength of the opposing power.
Ti ticked by. Zhang Yue had already been waiting here for over three hours. Based on the estimated ti for the mission Fang Tianhe and his team had accepted, they should have been back by now.
"Sir, a convoy is approaching!" a soldier on the watchtower suddenly shouted.
"Confirm their identity imdiately," Zhang Yue ordered, his heart leaping with joy.
