After listening to Lin Xinghai’s explanation, the various rcenary Corps Leaders were so surprised their jaws dropped.
’Ten or twenty High Level Zombies... What did that even an?’
For First Level rcenary Corps like them, a solo encounter ant risking complete annihilation.
But now, Lin Xinghai was telling them that just two of his mbers could handle it.
While they found this hard to believe, a sense of excitent began to build within them.
If what Lin Xinghai said was true, they could easily imagine their own rcenary Corps’ casualties dropping to an unprecedented low for the rest of the journey.
Especially after the rosy picture Lin Xinghai had just painted for them, with the help of these skilled marksn, that future seed truly within reach.
As for Lin Xinghai’s statent that two mbers could handle a maximum of four High Level Zombies at a ti—that wasn’t an issue at all for them.
For one, it was unlikely that any given horde attacking them would even contain four High Level Zombies. But even if that did happen, the other mbers of their rcenary Corps weren’t just dead weight.
While it was unlikely they could kill the High Level Zombies themselves, couldn’t they at least lay down suppressive fire on a few of them?
This would be especially easy since they had purchased a large batch of Hand Cannon Bullets before setting out.
Soon, the more than 30 assigned mbers boarded the Armored Vehicles of the various rcenary Corps.
The rcenary Corps Leaders imdiately had their n clear out the best firing positions and even assigned personnel specifically to help with reloading.
Once everything was settled, the convoy set off again.
Soon, they encountered another zombie horde, this one numbering as many as 300.
What’s more, not far behind it, another horde of over 200 was charging right after.
Previously, this was the exact kind of situation the rcenary Corps dreaded most.
Two large waves of zombies, one so close behind the other, made it easy for unexpected problems to arise.
But now, the rcenary Corps Leaders actually found themselves faintly looking forward to it.
As everyone watched, the zombie tide entered firing range. Just like before, the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps opened fire first.
However, everyone noticed that the firepower from the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps had clearly diminished.
After a mont of stunned silence, the rcenary Corps Leaders quickly understood.
’The Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps is clearly sacrificing its own interests to help us!’
After all, the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps was only a Second Level rcenary Corps, with a full complent of 100 mbers.
And in the First Division, besides the Mountain and Sea rcenary Corps and the Blood Carving rcenary Corps, there were 16 other First Level squads.
Lin Xinghai had sent two mbers to each of these squads, which ant he had sent out a total of 32 elite marksn. That was equivalent to a third of the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps’ entire force.
At this thought, every rcenary Corps Leader was filled with gratitude. At the sa ti, for the first ti, they felt a true sense of camaraderie with this group.
Even a jaded veteran like Chen Tianlei, who was accustod to the deceit and backstabbing between rcenary Corps, looked visibly moved. As his admiration for Lin Xinghai grew, he let his guard down considerably.
While the rcenary Corps Leaders were lost in their own thoughts, the zombies’ assault showed no signs of stopping.
They pushed through the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps’ fire, rapidly closing in on the entire convoy. However, compared to before, far fewer zombies were being taken down.
Watching the scene unfold, Lin Xinghai’s expression was perfectly calm. He had anticipated this situation when he made the arrangents.
Though the standalone strength of the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps had decreased, the overall strength of the entire convoy could now be fully realized.
As the horde drew closer, the Mountain and Sea rcenary Corps and the Blood Carving rcenary Corps were the first to bear the brunt of the attack.
Previously, the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps had held off nearly all the zombies at the front, so the rcenary Corps positioned there faced even less danger than those on the flanks.
But now, with the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps’ reduced firepower, the other rcenary Corps at the front of the formation could finally fulfill their role and bear the frontal assault of the zombies.
And the first to make a spectacular show of force was not, surprisingly, the Second Level Blood Carving rcenary Corps, but the previously unnoticed Mountain and Sea rcenary Corps.
Before, the Mountain and Sea rcenary Corps had always been positioned behind the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps, so not many zombies could reach them. In everyone’s eyes, their performance had been rely adequate.
But now that the number of zombies they faced had suddenly increased, the Mountain and Sea rcenary Corps’ true strength was finally revealed.
Their volleys of fire, shooting from the Armored Vehicle, were not particularly dense, but their accuracy was astonishingly high.
At least 50 zombies were charging their position. The majority were Interdiate Zombies, but there were also five High Level Zombies among them.
Any other First Level rcenary Corps facing this situation would have been thrown into a frantic ss, even if they managed to hold on.
But the mbers of the Mountain and Sea rcenary Corps fired calmly and thodically. The zombies charging them were cut down one after another, especially once they approached within 10 ters of the Armored Vehicle. It was as if they were crossing an invisible line of death.
Even the High Level Zombies were riddled with bullets as they tried to charge the Armored Vehicle. Their Speed plumted, and they were ultimately killed with shots to the head.
The rcenary Corps Leaders also discovered sothing even more astonishing: the Mountain and Sea rcenary Corps had only been using Tearing Rifles from start to finish, without resorting to their Hand Cannons at all.
This was sothing even the Blood Carving rcenary Corps couldn’t manage. When they were hit by the horde, they had to bombard several dense packs of zombies with their Hand Cannons to slow the tide’s advance before they could hold their ground with ease.
The rcenary Corps Leaders who witnessed this could only remark that they were truly worthy of being Lin Xinghai’s Affiliated rcenary Corps. While their Gun Technique couldn’t compare to Heaven-Sundering’s, they were still leagues ahead of any ordinary rcenary Corps.
Of course, after their mont of amazent, the leaders of the First Level rcenary Corps quickly rallied and commanded their n to open fire on the zombies charging the flanks of the formation.
Instantly, the roar of Hand Cannons rang out continuously. All the rcenary Corps Leaders were on high alert, piloting their chas to guard the periter of their own corps, ready to respond to any unexpected developnts.
However, to their surprise, through the high-intensity assault of two consecutive zombie tides, they never even got a single chance to intervene.
After all, with a wide-area-of-effect weapon like the Hand Cannon, the Ordinary and Interdiate Zombies could hardly pose a threat to their rcenary Corps.
The only ones they had to watch out for were the High Level Zombies.
And the marksn Lin Xinghai had sent were even more powerful than they had imagined.
In their minds, it would have been impressive enough if these two marksn could kill High Level Zombies from 10 ters out, just like the Mountain and Sea rcenary Corps.
But to their surprise, the marksn from the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps opened fire when the High Level Zombies were still 30 ters away, and their accuracy was astonishing.
At a distance of 30 ters, even if they couldn’t hit a High Level Zombie’s head, they could hit other body parts, injuring them and causing their Speed to drop.
Under these circumstances, by the ti the High Level Zombies got within 20 ters of the convoy, they could almost always be killed with a single shot.
If not, two shots were enough to critically wound a High Level Zombie, and a third would inevitably finish it off.
Moreover, the mbers of the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps would sotis team up. A High Level Zombie targeted by two of them at once had a 90% chance of being killed instantly, even from 30 ters away.
So, while the rcenary Corps Leaders were tense and nervous at first, their expressions quickly turned to surprise. By the end, they had completely relaxed, feeling as if they were watching a blockbuster war movie.
After this battle, all the rcenary Corps Leaders shared the sa feeling: their First Division had been completely transford.
