Not even 15 seconds after Lin Xinghai gave the order, five chas appeared before him.
Besides Fang Tianhe and Shen Han, Chen Tianlei, the leader of the Blood Carving rcenary Corps, was also pulled into this assault team.
After all, according to the data, his Genetic Optimization Level was as high as 97%. He was an expert who had a good chance of breaking through to the Blood Qi Realm in the near future.
As for the last two, they were the leaders of the Blue Water rcenary Corps and the Barbaric rcenary Corps, respectively. Their Genetic Optimization Levels were 92% and 90%—not particularly high, but at least enough to bring out the combat power of their chas.
"Ah Xing, is there a mission for us?" Fang Tianhe asked as he leaped down from his cha.
"Yes," Lin Xinghai nodded and got straight to the point. "The biggest problem with this zombie horde is those four Mutated Zombies. I’ve called you here to help kill them."
The mont Lin Xinghai said this, Shen Han and Fang Tianhe were relatively calm, but the expressions of the other three changed instantly.
"Captain Lin, are you joking? Go kill those four Mutated Zombies? Whether we can beat them is one thing, but moving through the zombie horde in our chas will be incredibly difficult. We probably won’t even be able to escape," Chen Tianlei said with a look of displeasure.
At the sa ti, he cursed inwardly, ’Here it cos. He really is up to no good!’
Their Blood Carving rcenary Corps was the only Second Level rcenary Corps, and he had been wary of Lin Xinghai trying to make things difficult for them.
But Lin Xinghai’s orders had always been by the book, and often, the missions were even less dangerous than those given to the Mountain and Sea rcenary Corps. This had once made him wonder if such a good rcenary Corps Leader could actually exist.
But now, hearing this mission, he understood everything. ’So this is what he was waiting for!’
It wasn’t just Chen Tianlei; the expressions on the other two rcenary Corps Leaders’ faces weren’t any better. Clearly, they also thought this was a suicide mission.
Lin Xinghai glanced at the expressions on their faces. Of course he knew what they were thinking. He snorted coldly and said with feigned displeasure, "I don’t have ti to joke with you. This is an order. If you’re unwilling to carry it out, I won’t force you. Just get out of my unit."
"Also, support teams from two other outposts will be acting with you, so you only need to provide assistance."
Although Lin Xinghai’s attitude was harsh and his tone was stiff, his words actually ca as a relief to them.
If it were just the few of them on this mission, it would undoubtedly be a death sentence. But if they were assisting the military, the nature of the task was completely different.
"So we really only need to provide assistance?" Chen Tianlei asked, seeking confirmation.
"What, you think I’m joking with you?" Lin Xinghai’s gaze turned cold.
"Er... no. Um... what exactly do we need to do?" Chen Tianlei wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and quickly adjusted his attitude before asking.
"It’s simple. Attack the Mutated Zombies and draw their attention," Lin Xinghai said.
"Are there any requirents for our attack thods?"
"No!"
"Then can I use ranged attacks to attract the attention of those Mutated Zombies?"
"Yes!"
The two exchanged questions and answers rapidly. As the others listened, their eyes gradually lit up, and the looks of displeasure on the faces of the two First Level rcenary Corps Leaders completely vanished.
Lin Xinghai’s mission was clear: they only needed to draw the enemy’s attention. Just as Chen Tianlei had implied with his questions, they didn’t need to get close and fight the Mutated Zombies head-on; they just had to harass them from a distance.
As long as they made enough of a commotion, the zombies’ attention would naturally be drawn to them.
Thinking of this, more than half of their worries instantly vanished.
Seeing the change in everyone’s expressions, Lin Xinghai smiled and added, "Also, this mission was issued by the military. There’s a bonus reward of rit Points."
Upon hearing about the rit Points, any trace of resistance on the faces of Chen Tianlei and the others vanished. rit could be used to purchase military-grade equipnt, which was far more valuable than Points.
"I’ve already sent the mission details to your cha’s computers. Ti is short. Move out imdiately."
As Lin Xinghai’s voice fell, the five chas imdiately sprang into action. With Fang Tianhe in the lead, they ford an assault formation, leaped out from the northern front line, and charged into the vast zombie horde.
Their charge was like several giant boulders being thrown into the sea, kicking up massive waves.
Hordes of densely packed Zombies sward toward the five chas. However, the Heaven-Sundering cha at the very front, wielding its Alloy Great Saber, could clear out a huge swathe of them with a single sweep.
Faced with the chas’ slaughter, the Ordinary and Interdiate Zombies had no ability to resist whatsoever. Only the High Level Zombies could put up a slight fight.
But that only applied to chas piloted by ordinary mbers. For soone with imnse strength like Fang Tianhe, if a single slash didn’t kill a zombie, he would just ram it with his cha. By infusing the cha with a bit of his Heaven-Splitting Superpower, even a High Level Zombie would be instantly torn to shreds upon contact.
And besides Fang Tianhe, the abilities Shen Han displayed were not to be underestimated.
When her Celestial Frost Superpower was amplified by her cha and released over a wide area, a layer of frost instantly covered the nearby Zombies, making their movents stiff and sluggish and allowing the other chas to cut them down with incredible ease.
Watching from the rear, Chen Tianlei and the others were secretly dumbfounded. They had originally thought that even if they didn’t have to face the Mutated Zombies head-on, the mission would still be extrely difficult.
But now, after seeing Fang Tianhe and Shen Han display their might, they realized they had gotten a great deal. With these two from the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps present, the mission’s difficulty was reduced by at least half.
Seeing this, Chen Tianlei no longer held back and released his own Superpower as well.
The weapon his cha used was a bit unusual: a pair of three-ter-long Sharp Claws. Normally, their Attack Power was diocre. But after he activated his Superpower, the phantom image of an eagle’s talons appeared over the claws, and every attack carried a powerful tearing effect.
In terms of killing power, it was definitely a Rare Level Superpower, just a tier below the Heaven-Splitting Superpower.
As for the other two First Level rcenary Corps Leaders, one used a Gold Superpower that could make weapons even sharper.
The other unleashed an Earth Superpower, causing earthen spears to jut out from the ground and kill the Zombies.
With all five of them going all out, the assault team simply bulldozed their way forward. Even the zombie horde couldn’t stop their advance, and they moved at a trendous speed.
If they maintained this pace, they would even reach the Mutated Zombies’ location before the support teams sent from the other two outposts.
’I should probably get going too. Otherwise, if those Mutated Zombies see that the situation isn’t right and actually get scared off, then I’ll have really ssed up.’ Lin Xinghai sat in the cockpit of his Speed cha, looking at the two teams displayed as green dots on his radar. He muttered this to himself, then piloted his cha and charged out.
