Of course, despite the grimness of the situation, Lin Xinghai assessed the battlefield and imdiately began giving orders.
"Zhang Yue, have the artillery squad prepare their ammunition. When we’re down to 500 Combat Robots, I want you to bombard that position—destroy our robots along with the frenzied Zombies."
"We absolutely must reduce the number of frenzied Zombies to under 1,500 before they breach the second line of defense."
"After that, all personnel will fall back to the third defensive line, where more Combat Robots will hold the line. Then we’ll repeat the bombardnt. That should be enough to annihilate these frenzied Zombies." Lin Xinghai issued his orders, his hands never slowing as he continued to rapidly take down one frenzied Zombie after another.
Hearing the order, Zhang Yue felt a pang of pain at the thought of losing so many Combat Robots, but he didn’t dare hesitate and imdiately went to relay the command.
According to Lin Xinghai’s plan, this battle would likely cost them all of their Combat Robots, but it was still the best possible outco.
The other high-ranking officers on the comms channel, both from the rcenary Corps and the military, fell into a grim, oppressive silence.
It was now a foregone conclusion that they would lose all 4,000 of their Combat Robots at Outpost 108.
anwhile, the teams sent to reinforce Outposts 107 and 109 were also locked in a grueling stalemate.
Although the military had the upper hand, the Combat Robots holding the front lines would still be mostly destroyed by the end of the fight.
These were the last Combat Robots the military could deploy. If they were all destroyed, then in an hour, when the Spitters had regenerated their venom and created another wave of frenzied Zombies, the soldiers would have to hold the line with their own flesh and blood.
One could only imagine how brutal the fighting would beco if it truly ca to that.
Everyone understood this grim reality, but they were powerless to change it. All they could do was hope that after they survived this wave of frenzied Zombies, the situation might take a turn for the better in the next hour.
Just when it seed even Lin Xinghai had no better solution, a gentle female voice ca through his private channel.
"Ah Xing! I want to try using my Life Control Superpower on those Blood-colored Beetles," Liu Miaomiao said. "If it’s successful, we might be able to change the tide of this battle."
"No, that’s too dangerous," Lin Xinghai objected, almost as a reflex.
Even he had already fallen back to the second defensive line; how could he possibly let Liu Miaomiao go forward now?
"I’ll be careful. Besides, with my cha’s amplification, my Life Control Superpower has a range of fifty ters. I can use it from a safe distance." This ti, instead of simply obeying, Liu Miaomiao insisted.
Lin Xinghai’s earlier objection had been purely an instinct to protect Liu Miaomiao.
Now, after a mont of calm reflection, he instantly realized it might actually be a viable strategy.
He was, of course, well aware of the power of the Life Control Superpower. So, after only two seconds of silence, he made his decision. "Alright! But when you get there, stay at least twenty ters away from the first defensive line."
Liu Miaomiao, of course, had no objection to this arrangent.
Soon, two chas charged out from the second defensive line, one after the other.
The first cha was, of course, the Life cha piloted by Liu Miaomiao. The second was the Celestial Frost cha, piloted by Shen Han.
This was a special arrangent by Lin Xinghai. After all, the Blood-colored Beetles posed a major threat to chas. If Shen Han went along, her Celestial Frost Superpower would at least serve as a counter to them.
As for the threat from the frenzied Zombies, Lin Xinghai could handle that himself.
While it would be difficult for him to kill all the frenzied Zombies in a short ti, picking off the ones that targeted the chas was no great challenge.
The rcenaries and soldiers, who were desperately firing to make every second count, were all a little surprised to see two chas suddenly charge out from the defensive line.
At the sa ti, however, a faint look of anticipation appeared on their faces.
To them, this had to be a move ordered by the high command—perhaps even an important trump card.
At that mont, even Lin Xinghai was filled with anticipation. He was eager to see just how effective the Life Control Superpower would be against the Blood-colored Beetles.
Only 100 ters separated the first and second defensive lines.
For a cha, such a short distance could be covered in the blink of an eye.
In just a few seconds, her cha crossed the halfway point. Now, with the amplification from her cha, Liu Miaomiao’s Superpower was in range of the enemy.
Without hesitation, Liu Miaomiao unleashed her Life Control Superpower. Instantly, an invisible life-field emanated from her cha.
Under Liu Miaomiao’s control, this life-field rapidly enveloped the first defensive line.
Then, as everyone watched, a spectacular scene unfolded.
Countless specks of green light floated up from the first defensive line and stread toward Liu Miaomiao’s cha.
With every speck of green light that erged, a Blood-colored Beetle froze in place. As its Life Force was siphoned away, its blood-red carapace turned a deathly gray-white and even began to emit an aura of decay.
In the blink of an eye, hundreds, even thousands, of Blood-colored Beetles were killed.
The sight made everyone’s eyes widen in astonishnt, Lin Xinghai included.
Even though he had suspected Liu Miaomiao’s Superpower might produce an unexpected result, he never imagined it would be this dramatic.
The Blood-colored Beetles were completely unable to resist.
Once enveloped by the Life Control Superpower, a Blood-colored Beetle couldn’t even last half a second. In 0.2 seconds at most, its body would be completely drained of all Life Force.
Lin Xinghai’s Perception Power already covered the entire battlefield, allowing him to observe every detail with perfect clarity. In that mont, he gained a much deeper understanding of the Life Control Superpower.
’To resist it, a creature would either need an imnse amount of Life Force so it couldn’t be drained instantly, or it would need a higher tier of Life Force that would make it more difficult for the Superpower to extract. Unfortunately, the Blood-colored Beetles had neither.’
’In the end, they were just insects with high Attack Power. Faced with a nearly indefensible Superpower like Life Control, their only fate was to die.’
Realizing all this, Lin Xinghai grew instantly ecstatic. He imdiately shouted into the comms channel, "Miaomiao, close to within twenty ters of the first defensive line and move along its length! Take out all the Blood-colored Beetles. Everyone else, prepare to counterattack."
