Having reached a conclusion, Lin Xinghai remained calm despite the urgency. To him, three seconds was plenty of ti to accomplish a great deal.
His cha closed in at high speed. At the sa ti, he launched a full five Micro Missiles in a single volley.
Lin Xinghai hadn’t brought many of these Micro Missiles, which were loaded with High-Energy Bombs, on this mission. He had just fired a third of his entire supply.
If they all hit their mark, forget the Spray Zombie—even a Death Claw would be left critically injured and on the verge of death.
However, his opponent was clearly prepared. The mont he launched his Micro Missiles, the Death Claw pulled the Spray Zombie behind it. But it wasn’t the one that would take the hit—that role fell to the nearby Giant Arm.
The creature had sohow procured an enormous Alloy steel plate, which it held up before it like a shield.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Five deafening explosions rang out as the five Micro Missiles struck the Alloy steel plate with pinpoint accuracy.
However, to Lin Xinghai’s surprise, the plate must have been forged from a special Alloy. Under the bombardnt of the High-Energy Bombs, it only broke in two instead of shattering completely.
It had absorbed the direct blast, but the imnse recoil wasn’t so easy to bear. The Giant Arm’s hands were dripping with blood, and the force sent it flying back over ten ters, creating a massive opening.
BANG!
Lin Xinghai, who had been waiting for this exact mont, didn’t hesitate. He raised his Electromagnetic Railgun and fired.
The shot was swift, precise, and ruthless.
Unfortunately, the Spray Zombie was on high alert. The mont it sensed danger, it ducked behind the Death Claw, which imdiately stepped forward to shield it.
The Electromagnetic Railgun’s 20-milliter Alloy slug tore an arm’s-length gash across the Death Claw’s body.
However, on a massive fra that stood three stories tall, a wound like that was completely insignificant.
After firing just one shot, Lin Xinghai understood. With the enemy defending so tenaciously, it was clearly impossible to kill the Spray Zombie with the Electromagnetic Railgun.
If he had ti to patiently search for an opening, he might be able to find the perfect, inescapable opportunity for a one-shot kill in two or three minutes.
But right now, he couldn’t even risk two or three seconds, let alone two or three minutes.
Without hesitation, Lin Xinghai switched to his backup plan. He launched two more Micro Missiles, blasting the Giant Arm even farther away.
Simultaneously, he stowed his Electromagnetic Railgun and drew his Mjolnir.
That entire series of attacks had taken place in barely a second. Throughout it all, Lin Xinghai’s cha had been sprinting forward relentlessly.
By this point, he was less than ten ters from the Death Claw. For combatants of their imnse size, this was already well within close-quarters combat range.
Without a mont’s hesitation, he unleashed the Mjolnir’s Thunder Power and thrust it straight at the Death Claw’s head.
Instantly, the Death Claw sensed a mortal threat.
Yet even under such circumstances, the Death Claw didn’t retreat a single step. It swung out with its Sharp Claws to et Lin Xinghai’s strike.
With his Speed, Lin Xinghai had no need to clash head-on. He could have easily used his absolute advantage to maneuver around the beast and find a better opening.
This ti, however, he didn’t do that. He thrust his weapon forward, eting the attack head-on.
PFFT!
Lin Xinghai had delivered this thrust during a full-speed charge from his Speed cha, reaching a terrifying 5200 points of Speed. Combined with the cha’s ten-plus-ton weight, the impact force behind the spear was simply monstrous.
When the tip of the spear clashed with the claws, the Death Claw’s Sharp Claws couldn’t withstand the terrifying force and snapped instantly.
Carried by its unparalleled montum, the spear plunged directly into the creature’s arm, nearly punching straight through the two-ter-thick limb.
If that strike had hit its head, the Death Claw would have been dead.
Regardless, the Death Claw had managed to block the strike.
Lin Xinghai’s expression, however, remained placid. In truth, everything was going according to his plan, and his attack was far from over.
BZZT!
The terrifying Thunderbolt only truly erupted after the spear had pierced the enemy’s arm.
Serpents of lightning danced wildly, slithering across the Death Claw’s massive fra.
At that mont, even the tough, thick-hided Death Claw convulsed violently from the electric shock.
And everything Lin Xinghai had done was for the sole purpose of creating this fleeting mont of opportunity.
Almost instantly, he released the Mjolnir. His cha executed an advanced technique—the Bounce Back—and in the blink of an eye, it vaulted over the Death Claw’s body, landing behind it.
Without pausing, he imdiately followed up with another advanced technique: the Stamping Kick.
At that instant, the cha’s three-ton chanical leg, boosted by its power engine and countless servo-chanisms, moved so fast it left behind an afterimage.
The Spray Zombie, which seed to have only just processed what was happening, had a look of pure despair in its eyes as it took the full force of the Speed cha’s kick.
BAM!
A dull thud of impact was followed by the sharp CRACK of breaking bones. The Spray Zombie’s body shot away like a cannonball, smashing clean through a nearby building.
When its body erged from the other side of the building, it was a mangled ss of flesh and blood, its Life Aura completely gone.
Lin Xinghai’s chain of movents was so fluid and seamless, it was as if he had rehearsed it countless tis.
Only then was the Death Claw beginning to recover from its convulsions. The Giant Arm, which had been blasted back another ten-plus ters, was just now scrambling back, clutching the two halves of the broken steel plate.
But it was all too late. After retrieving his Mjolnir, Lin Xinghai vanished from sight, moving at a speed that left the two Mutated Zombies in despair.
Having successfully completed the mission, Lin Xinghai let out a long sigh of relief.
Through his Perception, he could sense the Mutated Zombies rushing toward his location from all directions. They all seed to pause for a mont, as if finding it hard to accept that the Spray Zombie was dead.
But Lin Xinghai paid them no mind. He picked the direction with the fewest Mutated Zombies and began to break through their encirclent. As he went, he fired off the last five High-Energy Bomb-loaded Micro Missiles he had left in his cha.
The results were gratifying: he had managed to blow up two more Blood Worms and one Spitter.
This ti, Lin Xinghai had faced 53 Mutated Zombies alone. And while he hadn’t exactly charged in and out of their ranks like a hero of legend, he had still managed to kill seven of them in a single, decisive engagent.
Moreover, the ones he had killed were mostly Spitters and Blood Worms—the types that would have caused the greatest trouble for the defensive line.
Now, even if the remaining Mutated Zombies regrouped, the threat they posed to the defensive line would be significantly reduced.
