At this mont, it wasn’t just Zhang Yue; the other military officers who had followed him were also staring, dumbfounded.
One had to understand that killing a Mutated Zombie and capturing one alive were two completely different concepts.
The difficulty was more than ten tis greater.
At the very least, no one in their entire Star Shield Shelter had ever captured a Mutated Zombie alive.
After all, for an average rcenary Corps, simply managing to kill a Mutated Zombie encountered on a mission was already quite an accomplishnt.
Moreover, those Mutated Zombies were intelligent. When they knew they couldn’t win, they would choose to flee.
Even if they couldn’t escape, they would fight to the death, leaving no opportunity for capture.
In other words, to capture a Mutated Zombie alive, one needed to have the power to completely overwhelm it.
But that presented another problem. Mutated Zombies were creatures with an extrely keen sense of danger. If one sensed a threat to its life, it would flee from a great distance, so how could it possibly engage you in battle?
Therefore, it was a vicious cycle. Even if the Military Departnt dispatched an elite team, capturing a Mutated Zombie alive was a near-impossible task.
Lin Xinghai climbed down from his cha just then and was a little surprised to see the group of military officers all in a daze.
Following their gazes, Lin Xinghai naturally knew they were looking at the Hunter. ’But is it really so surprising that I brought back a captured Hunter?’
"Old Zhang, you’re just in ti. I was just about to look for you! Later, take this Hunter back to the researchers."
"I don’t care if you dissect it or slice it up, I need to know the range of a Mutated Zombie’s danger Perception." Lin Xinghai didn’t have ti to wonder why they were reacting so strongly and stated his request directly.
"Ah!" Zhang Yue snapped out of his daze and said, "Research is no problem, but... there are definitely significant differences between individual Mutated Zombies. Besides, a Hunter can’t represent the danger Perception level of other Mutated Zombies."
"What do you an? You think one Hunter isn’t enough? You want to go out and catch more?" Lin Xinghai said irritably.
"Ahem! It would be best if you could, of course. With just one Hunter, we can’t guarantee the accuracy of the research results," Zhang Yue said with a smile.
A living Mutated Zombie was imnsely valuable for research, so of course, he hoped Lin Xinghai would put in a little more effort.
"A rough estimate is fine," Lin Xinghai said, rolling his eyes irritably. He had no intention of taking on such a thankless task.
Zhang Yue just smiled and didn’t press the issue. He had made his point. He believed that even if Lin Xinghai was unwilling to actively seek out trouble with Mutated Zombies, he would surely capture one alive if he encountered one and the conditions were right.
After that, without a Mutated Zombie to direct it, there was no suspense in the annihilation of the Zombie tide.
Two hours later, the battle was over.
All the rcenary Corps earned another handso inco.
Of course, the most gratifying part was that they had truly achieved zero casualties while facing the assault of 500,000 Zombies.
Even among the Combat Robots, only a little over 500 were damaged.
The reason for this combat record was, of course, thanks to the eight-ter-high city wall.
With this wall in place, the Ordinary Zombies and Interdiate Zombies had no hope of threatening the rcenaries on top of it.
Only the High Level Zombies, whose sharp claws could dig into the wall, were able to climb it successfully.
However, facing a hail of gunfire, only a little over 1,000 High Level Zombies ultimately managed to climb to the top of the wall.
But even when they successfully reached the top, the Combat Robots, which had long been waiting, would form a moving wall of iron and steel to block their path.
So of the more agile High Level Zombies could manage to take a Combat Robot down with them. The slower ones didn’t even have ti to react before they were riddled with bullets like a hornet’s nest.
When Lin Xinghai saw the damage report, he couldn’t help but marvel at the imnse role the wall played in defending against the Zombie tide.
It was worth noting that the wall was not even half its planned height. Once it was built up to 20 ters and a complete defensive system was established, the number of High Level Zombies able to climb it would surely decrease drastically.
At that point, it was estimated that any Zombie tide of less than a million would pose little threat to the sub-base.
This great victory might have been sothing for many rcenary Corps to talk about excitedly for a long ti, but for Lin Xinghai, it was truly just a minor episode.
The next morning, he assembled his team on schedule and continued to clear out Zombies.
As for the other rcenary Corps, perhaps having gotten a taste of success from yesterday’s great battle, even those who previously hadn’t dared to leave the sub-base were now unwilling to stay inside. They also wanted to go out and see if they could reap so benefits.
Of course, these rcenary Corps weren’t stupid. Most of them chose to follow behind Lin Xinghai’s group.
The vast majority of these rcenary Corps were there to gather resources. Of course, there were also so decent Second Level rcenary Corps who chose to clear out the remaining Zombies.
After all, Lin Xinghai’s team couldn’t possibly kill every single Zombie. Once his team had cleared an area, it wouldn’t be too dangerous, and with the high density of Zombies in Guanghan City, even cleaning up the leftovers would yield a substantial harvest.
So, as more and more rcenary Corps went out, the situation gradually changed. Originally, these rcenary Corps had stayed to assist with the defense, but it slowly started to feel as if they were staying here to go on the offensive.
Moreover, the Mutated Zombies seed to have sensed the danger and no longer dared to launch harassing attacks. Over the next few days, every rcenary Corps had a great ti raking in Points.
In the blink of an eye, five days passed, and the defensive fortifications at the sub-base were officially completed.
At this ti, the Military Departnt began modifying the buildings within the entire Industrial Park, which would make the area more suitable for human habitation in the future.
News of the huge changes at the sub-base, coupled with the massive gains made by the various rcenary Corps during this period, also made its way back to the Star Shield Shelter.
So rcenary Corps that had previously been too intimidated by Guanghan City’s reputation to co were finally tempted.
More and more rcenary Corps began to arrive at the sub-base. Even so powerful hunter squads eagerly applied to form their own rcenary Corps and rushed over.
The higher-ups at the Star Shield Shelter were, of course, happy to see this developnt. The more rcenaries at the sub-base, the greater its security would naturally beco.
Furthermore, more people ant more resources could be collected daily, creating a virtuous cycle.
From now on, for every day the sub-base existed, it would transport a massive amount of resources to the Star Shield Shelter.
Of course, while so rcenary Corps from the Star Shield Shelter were coming to the sub-base, so of the rcenary Corps at the sub-base who had made a fortune were preparing to return to the Shelter for a good rest.
The Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps was prominent among them.

Got writer’s block. The big Guanghan City story arc is pretty much over. Next up is the trip to East Sea Base.
I still have to write so transitional plot in between. This kind of transitional plot is the hardest to write. I’m afraid of making it boring, but it has to be written.
I need to think it over carefully. I can’t guarantee a second Chapter today.
