As Lin Xinghai looked over, he saw that at least 3,000 banquet tables had been set up in rcenary Plaza.
It looked like they had called over everyone in the entire sub-base to celebrate!
After Lin Xinghai and the others arrived, the banquet officially began. The rcenary Corps from outside filed in. They then seated themselves according to their Corps’ Level and ranking, starting from the high platform at the front of the plaza and extending to the back.
Of course, the mbers of the Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps were seated in a very prominent position, almost directly below the high platform.
As for Lin Xinghai, Fang Tianhe, and the other senior mbers of the rcenary Corps, they were invited to the seats on the high platform itself.
The people here were essentially either high-ranking officials from the Shelter or military officers.
Of course, by status, Lin Xinghai was also a Vice-Director, but Fang Tianhe and the others were purely rcenaries. They were only invited up because of Lin Xinghai.
The Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps was also the only rcenary Corps with mbers qualified to sit on the high platform.

As they took their seats, dishes were quickly brought out, one after another.

However, the few tables on the high platform were ant for hosting the Shelter’s high-ranking officials and military leaders, so Lin Xinghai wasn’t surprised by the quality of the food.
What did surprise him was that the dishes served to the rcenary Corps below were not bad at all. Every dish was a mix of at and vegetables. While they weren’t exotic delicacies, given how expensive at was in the apocalypse, a single dish like this probably cost over a hundred Points.
A single table required at least ten dishes, which would co to 1,000 Points right there.
And there were over 3,000 tables in the entire rcenary Plaza!

On top of the food, the drinks were also a huge expense. Lin Xinghai noticed that the bottles on the tables below weren’t so fake liquor made from industrial alcohol, but genuine beer brewed from grain. In the apocalypse, that stuff was nearly as expensive as at.
As Lin Xinghai continued to watch, even he, who had never paid much mind to Points, felt his heart skip a beat. He couldn’t help but turn to Fang Tianhe beside him and ask, "How many Points did this farewell banquet cost in total?"
"I had originally planned to spend 100,000 Points just to invite so of the military officers and rcenary Corps we’re more familiar with to celebrate."
"But after General Lin found out I was organizing this farewell banquet, he offered to cover all the expenses."
"According to General Lin, this banquet isn’t just to send you off, but also to thank all the rcenary Corps that contributed to the construction of the sub-base. That’s why it’s on such a grand scale."
"As for the exact number of Points, I’m not really sure, but I estimate it’s at least 5 million Points." Fang Tianhe was filled with emotion as he spoke.
Such a huge sum of Points would bankrupt any other rcenary Corps, and it would even bankrupt their own Heaven-Sundering rcenary Corps.
Hearing this, Lin Xinghai imdiately felt relieved. Of course, as the guest of honor at this farewell banquet, he couldn’t just do nothing. He imdiately raised his glass and toasted Wei Tianxing and Lin Zhengyang first.
"During my ti here, I’ve been fortunate to have the care of all you leaders. Without your support, I definitely wouldn’t have been able to get this far. I’ll drink to that as a sign of my respect." As he spoke, Lin Xinghai tipped his head back and drained his glass.
"Not at all. We’re the ones who should be thanking you," Wei Tianxing said earnestly. "If it weren’t for you, just dealing with the Morgan Conglorate would have been a huge headache for us, to say nothing of capturing this Industrial Park and establishing this sub-base afterward."
"Now we’re even hoping to be promoted to a large-scale base within a year. None of this would be possible without your contributions."
This wasn’t flattery, but what he truly felt.
The others present were also filled with emotion upon hearing this and began to toast Lin Xinghai one after another. Of course, Lin Xinghai accepted them all.
After drinking with the high-ranking officials on the platform, Lin Xinghai brought Fang Tianhe and the others down to toast the various rcenary Corps Leaders.
The rcenary Corps Leaders were, of course, flattered and surprised, and they all raised their glasses in response.

Even the rcenary Corps Leaders whom Lin Xinghai had previously rejected from joining the cleanup squads couldn’t bring themselves to hate him.
In fact, if it were possible, they would have preferred for Lin Xinghai to stay. After all, in an apocalyptic environnt like this, everyone hoped to have an invincible powerhouse like him guarding their Shelter.
Amidst the clinking of glasses and lively toasts, the banquet lasted for a full three hours before finally concluding.
On the way back, Lin Xinghai’s heart was filled with a multitude of emotions.
Seeing Lin Xinghai walking beside her in silence, Liu Miaomiao couldn’t help but ask with concern, "Ah Xing, did you drink too much?"
"Haha, with my current Physique, how could ordinary beer get drunk? I was just thinking about so things. More importantly, are you ready?" Lin Xinghai asked in return.
"Mhm! Roger and Wu Yan gave all their notes and experiences. I’ve morized all the important points. If the theory is correct, then I’m at least fifty percent confident that I can achieve a secondary awakening for my Superpower," Liu Miaomiao said.
She had a reason to be so confident. As an A Level Genetic Assessor, breaking through a Genetic Lock was an incredibly easy task for her.
Therefore, when she went to break her Genetic Lock, she would be able to conserve a large amount of Energy.
Then, she could follow Fang Tianhe’s theory and, during the breakthrough process, have her Superpower absorb this massive amount of Energy to see if she could use the opportunity to achieve a secondary awakening.
Lin Xinghai couldn’t help but nod. In this regard, Liu Miaomiao truly had a unique advantage.
