"Old Luo, I just thought of a problem," Lin Xinghai said, imdiately asking about the loophole he’d found. "If I have the Leader, or soone else who knows Ancient Martial Arts, teach , wouldn’t that an I don’t have to buy it?"

"In that case, you would be learning it illegally. It might be fine if you could keep it hidden forever, but as soon as soone discovers it and reports you, not only will you be fined double the Points, but the person who taught you will also be held responsible."

"Overall, the risk is just too great."

"Besides, if you buy it from the Shelter, they’ll use a ’mory Transmitter’ to directly transfer all the details of the entire Cultivation Technique into your brain. It’s much more detailed than what others can teach, and you’ll learn it much faster," Roger explained.

Lin Xinghai nodded. He had only asked on a whim and didn’t feel any regret.

They continued forward, talking as they went, and soon arrived at the entrance of the Energy Room.

Inside, the tal floor was already covered with the bodies of Zombies. Not a single living Zombie remained in the Energy Room; most were dead, though a small fraction—less than a tenth—had managed to escape.

Although Zombies weren’t smart, their minds weren’t any worse than a wild animal’s. They would still flee when faced with the danger of death.

Of course, this was a very rare occurrence, as Zombies were far more bloodthirsty than typical wild animals.

However, everyone present, including Lin Xinghai, was practically immune to the sight of Zombie corpses. Their eyes imdiately went to the center of the Energy Room.

There was a circular platform of about 5 square ters, and above it was a cube-shaped blue crystal.

The surface of this blue crystal already had many cracks and was even chipped. Energy was continuously radiating from these openings.

This was, without a doubt, the Energy Crystal Stone.

Roger imdiately opened his wrist-mounted computer and began scanning the Energy Crystal Stone before him.

"1.5348 tons! Based on today’s latest price, we can get at least 230,000 Points," Roger said, his face alight with excitent.

The others couldn’t help but cheer. The haul from this trip was simply enormous. Not only had they successfully obtained the Energy Crystal Stone, but they also had the corpse of an Armored Corpse worth 20,000 Points. All told, it added up to a whopping 250,000 Points!

On a normal trip, they would earn 10,000 Points at most, and as little as six or seven thousand—and that was before factoring in expenses like ammunition and equipnt.

After deductions, their average profit per trip was only around 5,000 Points. This single trip was worth the haul from 50 of their usual outings.

In other words, it was equivalent to what they would normally earn in two months.

Even the calst of the rcenaries couldn’t hide their excitent.

Lin Xinghai was, of course, happy for them, but since this was his first ti out on a mission, it didn’t hit him with quite the sa impact.

His gaze soon turned to Fang Tianhe, who was standing in a corner.

At that mont, Fang Tianhe was staring at a hole in front of him with a solemn expression.

It was a hole two ters in diater, dark and deep, leading to an unknown destination.

After their excitent subsided, the group of rcenaries noticed this and gathered around, their expressions gradually turning serious.

This was the Energy Room, after all. The floor was paved with 20-centiter-thick, high-strength alloy. It would take ten ordinary small missiles just to blast it open.

"Leader, this..." Wu Yan said, gripping his shield and staring at the large hole with a grave expression.

Fang Tianhe didn’t answer. Instead, he took out a pair of gloves, put them on, and lightly touched the residual sli at the edge of the hole.

It was a blood-red sli. Upon contact, white smoke imdiately rose from the glove. It was clear that the sli was extrely corrosive.

"It’s so kind of highly corrosive Mutated Zombie. The Energy Crystal Stone must have attracted it here," Fang Tianhe said.

His voice was soft, but to the others, it landed like a clap of thunder.

Everyone knew just how terrifying a Mutated Zombie was.

Lin Xinghai in particular, with data to use for comparison, had the most direct understanding of how strong a Mutated Zombie could be.

Take the Armored Corpse, for example. Without a cha, it could have probably killed all of them, including Fang Tianhe, with a single slap.

"Stop standing around and get moving! These corrosion marks on the high-strength alloy floor weren’t made in one go. This is very likely the lair of that Mutated Zombie."

"It just left, which ans it could co back at any mont," Fang Tianhe said again, his tone much more urgent this ti.

The team sprang into action!

Roger took a tal disk from his combat backpack. Under the control of his wrist-mounted computer, a pair of rotors extended from the disk, and it quickly flew to a position directly above the Energy Crystal Stone.

Imdiately after, a white light emanated from a diamond-shaped mirror on its underside, enveloping the entire Energy Crystal Stone.

Then, a miraculous scene unfolded. The cracks on the Energy Crystal Stone actually began to heal on their own. Even the chipped parts smoothed themselves out.

The only difference from before was that the Energy Crystal Stone was a little smaller, but its Energy was no longer escaping.

"What is this?" Lin Xinghai couldn’t help but ask curiously.

"An Energy Restraint Device. It’s used specifically to stabilize Energy Crystal Stones," Roger explained as he took four tal spheres from his combat backpack and placed them on the ground.

As he entered commands on his wrist-mounted computer, the four tal spheres began to roll on their own, surrounding the Energy Crystal Stone.

Then, a seam split open in the middle of the four tal spheres, and a red light began to emanate from within.

The mont this red light appeared, Lin Xinghai felt his scalp tingle. His Perception Power was constantly warning him that the red light posed a fatal threat.

"Old Luo, what’s this now?" Lin Xinghai asked again, swallowing hard.

"Laser Cutters," Roger replied succinctly.

At that mont, his attention was completely focused on issuing commands.

Soon, as Roger hit the enter key, all four Laser Cutters simultaneously fired their lasers.

Lin Xinghai only registered a flash of red light before his eyes, and the massive Energy Crystal Stone in front of him was cut into eight uniform pieces.

For a split second as the Energy Crystal Stone was being cut, it emitted a terrifying fluctuation of energy, as if it were about to explode.

But with the Energy Restraint Device in place, it was stabilized in an instant.

At this point, the other mbers who had been watching from the side quickly took out eight folded containers from their combat backpacks.

When folded, these containers were only about the size of a palm, but when unfolded, they could expand into a one-cubic-ter container.

They were more than enough to hold the cut pieces of the Energy Crystal Stone.

Watching the rcenaries thodically place the pieces of the Energy Crystal Stone into the folding containers, Lin Xinghai breathed a silent sigh of relief. He couldn’t help but think, ’This futuristic equipnt is incredible.’
