135: Chapter 135: Paisley Kirk 135: Chapter 135: Paisley Kirk David Hart’s reputation was well deserved; he cured the illness with just one needle.
The patient, Jade Cooke, who would have typically required craniotomy, didn’t even need his skull opened after treatnt from David Hart’s single needle.
Yusuf Zuck, David Hart, and the Shepherd family said their farewells, and of course, Jero Hart was with them.
There was nothing more for Jero Hart to do here.
The subsequent treatnts were for the specialists to handle.
His grandfather wanted to et with old friends, so he was leaving with the Shepherd family mbers.
Of course, there was another person accompanying Yusuf Zuck and Jero Hart, the hospital’s young nurse.
The young nurse hadn’t left, always waiting at the nurse station, so when Yusuf Zuck was about to leave, she grabbed her bag and directly followed them.
“Beautiful, where do you live?” After getting into the car, Yusuf Zuck was eager to take the young nurse ho because it was already 8:40 in the evening, and Samuel Ross and the others were waiting at the Ruiz Family’s ho.
“What do you an, ‘where do you live’?
Let’s go eat; I haven’t had dinner yet, and the beauty here probably hasn’t either, right?” Jero Hart turned around, eyeing the young nurse in the back.
To be honest, the nurse was a sight for sore eyes, vibrant and lovely; he felt like taking a bite.
“Alright, then let’s get dinner.” Since Jero Hart hadn’t eaten and the young nurse hadn’t said anything, Yusuf Zuck couldn’t insist on taking her straight ho, so he reluctantly agreed.
“Quanjude.
Let’s have roast duck tonight.” Jero Hart was still a foodie at heart.
“No way, we definitely won’t get a seat now.
I’ll take you guys to a regular restaurant instead, they have roast duck too, and the taste is almost the sa as Quanjude’s.” As Yusuf Zuck said this, he grinned at Jero Hart, “Wen Shuai, when I first t you, you weren’t like this!”
“How was I then?” Jero Hart was montarily taken aback.
“When I t you, you were polite and quiet, with a steady nature; but now, you’re like a monkey, always bouncing around!”
“Pfft~”
“Giggle giggle…”
Jero Hart almost choked on Yusuf Zuck’s words, while the young nurse in the back couldn’t help but giggle.
“Can’t you speak without being so sharp and harsh?” Jero Hart said with a mix of laughter and tears, “When I talk to strangers, of course, I have to show grace and poise, but why do I need to keep up appearances when I’m with friends?”
“You do have a point there.” Yusuf Zuck nodded.
Now that he and Jero Hart were friends, they didn’t need to stand on ceremony with each other; they could say whatever they wanted and do whatever they felt like.
Being carefree and relaxing together was what good friends were for.
“Beauty, what’s your na?
Are you at least sixteen?” At that mont, Jero Hart turned again to look at the young nurse with playful curiosity.
“I’m eighteen.
My na is Paisley Kirk,” the young nurse said, lowering her head.
“Wow, you look like you could be sixteen.
But you beca a nurse at eighteen?
Which school did you graduate from?” Jero Hart was imnsely curious.
An eighteen-year-old was typically a high school senior or a college freshman, right?
“I went to the city health school for nursing when I was sixteen, graduated this March, then interned at the hospital.
I haven’t been officially hired yet, I’m just an intern nurse.”
“Oh, we’re in the sa field then.
I’m Jero Hart.” Jero Hart had high qualifications and knew both traditional Chinese and Western dicine.
“Oh.” Paisley Kirk nodded her head.
“I’m planning to open a clinic in the capital.
If you’re still interning and haven’t beco permanent staff by the ti your internship ends, co work at my clinic.
The salary will be higher than the hospital’s, never lower, and you’ll get benefits, a provident fund, and even monthly bonuses.”
“You’re opening a clinic in the capital?
For real?” Yusuf Zuck suddenly asked.
“Of course, for real.
It should be opening soon.
Co over when it does, and you can contribute a casual few thousand as a token,” Jero Hart said.
“Sure, I definitely will,” Yusuf Zuck replied with a smile.
“Well, you’re so quick to agree, now I feel a bit embarrassed to accept it.
How about this, you beco my apprentice and then I teach you Silver Needle, don’t you want to learn?
My grandfather said if you want to learn, he’ll teach you.”
“That could work,” Yusuf Zuck nodded vigorously, his eyes lit up.
“When I’m free, I can go to your clinic in the capital and learn from you!”
“Haha, then it’s settled,” Jero Hart’s eyes were filled with laughter.
“Jero, does your clinic really need a nurse?
Could I be of use?” Paisley Kirk interjected at this mont.
“Of course, you can.
I’m not kidding about opening a clinic; if you co, it saves the trouble of looking elsewhere,” Jero Hart nodded repeatedly.
“Then I’ll go,” Paisley Kirk said excitedly.
“Are you deciding just like that?
Even though the salary might be higher at my place, it’s still not as stable as a regular hospital,” Jero Hart reminded her.
“I probably won’t be able to beco a regular staff mber at the hospital,” Paisley Kirk shook her head, rembering how a few days ago the departnt head had approached her, inviting her out to dinner and karaoke, under the guise of discussing her potential regularisation.
Paisley Kirk knew there’s no such thing as a free lunch.
The departnt head was nearly sixty, with a mouthful of yellow teeth, and she found it utterly repulsive.
So, these past few days, she had been agonizing over the decision and avoiding the head, feeling her prospects growing dimr.
But now, an opportunity had arisen.
The salary was higher than the hospital’s, and it even included benefits like the “five insurances and one fund,” much better than a dead-end job at the hospital.
“Right, give your phone number, and I’ll call you once things are certain.
You should have a definite answer within a week,” Jero Hart said earnestly.
Paisley Kirk recited her number, and Jero Hart dialed it imdiately, ensuring they saved each other’s contact information.
anwhile, as the two chatted, Yusuf Zuck’s phone also rang.
He picked it up and saw it was Ember Vance calling.
Jero Hart and Paisley Kirk stopped talking, while Yusuf Zuck pressed the answer button.
“Yusuf, where are you?
Do you have ti?” Ember Vance asked softly.
“What’s up?” Yusuf Zuck asked in return.
“Um, there’s sothing I need to discuss with you, about Bud Trujillo,” Ember Vance replied.
Yusuf Zuck was taken aback for a mont.
“About Bud?
What’s happened to him?
Do you know where he is?”
“I arrested him today,” Ember Vance whispered quietly.
“I’ve been transferred to Garden Road as the deputy chief, and I just happened to see the case of the Fengdu security guards fighting, so I went and arrested him today.”
“Haha, Officer Ember, you’re so adorable and so cool.
I do have ti; I’m about to head to Guo Lin’s restaurant by Tuanjiehu.
I’m taking a couple of friends there for dinner.
Can you make it?” Yusuf Zuck exclaid excitedly.
Officer Ember couldn’t help smiling from ear to ear when Yusuf praised her for being cool and adorable; her righteous anger hadn’t been in vain.
“I can.
I’ll rush over now; wait for .”
“Sure, but don’t rush.
Drive safely,” Yusuf Zuck reminded her.
“Got it, and you be safe too,” Ember Vance responded softly.
After hanging up, Yusuf felt incredibly refreshed.
Ember Vance was truly amazing, and he owed her a huge favor now.
It was clear that Ember had arrested Bud as a favor to him, but she had done it in such an uplifting manner, it made him happy.
“Hmm, I should call Samuel Ross and Dream Morrow to have so drinks.
I’m in a good mood today,” Yusuf thought, not knowing when he’d return to the Ruiz Family ho.
So, he decided to get Samuel and Dream, who were waiting at the Ruiz Family’s, to head over too, to have a big al together and allow everyone to get acquainted.
