In ’Huayan City’ of the Yellow Stone Domain in the Transit Realm, this city was originally a small city, remotely located near the mountains, peaceful and harmonious all the ti. However, tonight, Huayan City witnessed an unprecedented battle.
About a hundred people in black clothes and robes turned into Escaping Light and arrived at the city, then surrounded a small courtyard in the city.
Many people knew the owner of that small courtyard, nad Hugh Zuck, a simple and honest man who made a living by hunting demonic beasts’ fur or herbal gathering in the mountains. His wife, Bella Hart, was as beautiful as a flower and deeply in love with Hugh. Many people envied Big Bull and even felt he was unworthy of Bella.
Nonetheless, the Zuck couple was friendly, and many fur and herbal rchants in the city enjoyed doing business with Hugh Zuck.
However, unexpectedly, tonight, about a hundred people surrounded Hugh Zuck’s house and comnced a massacre, targeting the Zuck couple.
But, what no one expected was that the Zuck couple, usually inconspicuous, unleashed exceptional martial prowess tonight. The pair fought with their backs against each other, and although injured, they managed to kill over twenty foes amidst dozens, the ground soaked in blood. There was a ss all around, but despite a city guard and the City Lord, none had shown up so far.
Among the attackers, there were two leaders, their faces covered, yet it was apparent they were a man and a woman, and the pair seed quite familiar with the Zuck couple.
Tonight, it was indeed a brutal battle. Despite losing over twenty mbers, the enemy’s attacks did not lessen at all; instead, they seed as reckless as death-seekers, using their lives to exhaust the couple.
When another two were killed by the couple, the enemy’s attack suddenly withdrew like the tide but did not retreat. Instead, they surrounded the couple entirely.
"Hugh Dummy, Rene Brennan, tonight, even with wings, you’ll find it hard to escape." The male leader sneered, and five more people appeared in the darkness, with auras significantly stronger than those hundreds.
They stood at five positions and simultaneously struck different colored lights, forming a five-colored star-shaped cage, which rapidly shrank, seemingly attempting to confine and bind the couple.
Hugh Zuck tightly held Rene’s little hand, grinning with his usual foolish deanor.
"My dear, escape no longer seems possible; however, I have a thod to break through their defenses. When that happens, you must imdiately escape north; I’ll hold them off." Hugh transmitted via Divine Sense; actually, he wasn’t foolish at all, although he seed so. He might be genuinely simple and not cunning, but he understood the situation and knew how to protect his family.
"Husband, do you think Rene will run away alone?" Rene’s eyes sparkled with tears: "Rene might not be able to live together with Big Bull, but she’s willing to die together. Husband, please don’t say that; Rene is not afraid."
The couple looked very disheveled now, their chests stained with blood, looking pale, and their breaths unsteady, making this night seem truly like a dead-end.
"My mother, my aunt need protection; if we both die, who will protect them? So, Big Bull can die, but you can’t."
"Don’t speak anymore; without you, husband, what’s the aning of Rene living?" Rene stubbornly shook her head.
Hugh opened his mouth, closed his eyes briefly, then opened them wide and forcefully: "Alright, then let’s give it one last try together." With that, the couple prepared to make a joint charge.
However, suddenly, a woman’s voice gently erged in the void: "So many people ganging up on two, truly bullying."
"What?" Hearing a voice, not only were Hugh and Rene shocked, but the black-clad assailants were also all startled, even the five individuals executing the luminous formation, causing the formation to ripple.
"You five, don’t mind the others; we will protect you." The male and female leader said, releasing their Qi vigorously while leaping high into the sky, seeking the voice’s source.
"Whoa!~" As the leaders and their n leaped high, they imdiately looked towards a nearby courtyard not far away.
Separated by three houses from Hugh Zuck’s place, that small courtyard was not big, with a tree inside. Underneath it stood a woman dressed in a floral-patterned blouse, holding a whip.
"You little bitch, ddleso, go catch her, bring her to , we’ll have fun with her." The male leader viciously instructed, with two n instantly charging towards that courtyard with eerie cries.
However, before they even reached halfway, the woman in the courtyard, whip in hand, had stepped into the air swiftly, lashing at the two of them twice in quick succession.
"Snap, snap..." Her whip was ordinary, yet when whipped onto the two black-robed n, it imdiately turned them into thin air.
Indeed, turned into air, without a trace left.
"What?" Everyone erupted in shock.
But before they could react, the woman was already in front of the male and female leaders, less than half a ter away, like a ghost, frighteningly fast.
The leaders, horrified, felt their scalp tingle, preparing to attack imdiately.
"Die." The woman lashed her whip, and they too, without any suspense, turned into flying ashes.
"What?" Seeing the two leaders evaporated into thin air, the rest were so scared their jaws nearly dropped, retreating in panic.
The five releasing differently colored lights faltered, their speed slowed, and the five-pointed star graphic was on the brink of collapse at any mont.
"Hmph." The woman snorted coldly, suddenly flipping her wrist, and pointed downward, with a "bang." The star formation shattered, and along with it, the five individuals were blasted into oblivion.
"Run." Other black-robed figures dared not linger, fleeing in terror, disappearing quickly.
Hugh Zuck and Rene looked at the woman in curiosity, recognizing her, their Realm neighbor, Bella Hart.
Bella Hart moved here many years ago, around three months after they settled; she opened a tailor shop, and Rene loved to get clothes there. The two won got along well, and occasionally, the Zuck couple would dine at her place, and she would co to theirs.
To have Rene get along so well with a woman ant she was extraordinary. Firstly, Bella was beautiful; secondly, she was kind-hearted and never nosy.
The reason she was here seed to be awaiting her husband’s return, who was whereabouts unknown.
At least, Bella Hart never ntioned it.
However, in Big Bull and Rene’s eyes, they always viewed Bella Hart as an ordinary woman, but who knew she was a super expert?
Wrong, the greatest of experts.
It’s essential to know that though Big Bull and Rene had their extraordinary encounters over the years, reaching the High Realm, not far from the Dao Lord.
But now, they astonishingly found that Bella Hart was the true supre hidden powerhouse.
"Thanks, Sister Bella, for saving our lives." Rene, having experienced great ordeals, subtly guessed Bella was a reclusive high person, but she didn’t reveal it and still called her Sister.
"Ha ha, sister, does your ho have food? Big Bull is a bit hungry, and my house got destroyed..." Hugh Zuck said with a silly grin.
