Buying books was the most important thing in Ayden Ac’s life. No matter where he went, his first stop was always a bookstore, to pick out books he hadn’t read or collected before. Regardless of the content, he’d buy them first and read them when he had ti.

Of course, he often visited those second-hand book stalls or wandered through streets and alleys to collect books, just like those who collect scrap. No matter what kind of book it was, as long as he didn’t have it, he’d gather it up.

Yusuf Zuck wasn’t familiar with Yitian City and wasn’t sure what to do, so since Ayden Ac wanted to go to a bookstore, he went along with him.

Ayden Ac went to the largest bookstore in Yitian City, a place frequented by scholars and literati.

The bookstore was called Jade Yellow Studio, though its aning was unclear.

The bookstore was vast and crowded, yet it was as quiet as a library. Everyone buying or reading books there was well-mannered.

Yusuf Zuck stood at the entrance of the bookstore and peeked inside, utterly speechless at the sight. There were so many books, seemingly stretching on for a kiloter with row upon row of shelves.

It seed Ayden Ac had been there before. After telling Yusuf Zuck and Skeptic to wander around, he proceeded to the depths of the bookstore alongside a clerk.

In less than ten minutes, while Yusuf Zuck and Skeptic were still selecting books, Ayden Ac returned, carrying around a hundred books.

"Let’s go, I’ve finished buying. There’s nothing new," Ayden Ac seed a bit dissatisfied, shaking his head incessantly.

"You only bought this much?" Yusuf Zuck asked, puzzled.

"Yes, these one hundred or so books have been added in recent years. I have all the others," Ayden Ac replied, shaking his head.

"You have all of these?" Yusuf Zuck asked incredulously, pointing to the massive hall with perhaps over a million books.

"Heh, my collection is at least ten tis larger than this bookstore’s," Ayden Ac chuckled.

"Gulp," Yusuf Zuck swallowed hard, and Skeptic was equally stunned. Imagine how many books that must be; no wonder he was poor. If Ayden Ac were to open a bookstore, he’d have ten such kiloter-long archives.

He wasn’t poor; he just spent everything on books, and none of his books were duplicates...

Yusuf Zuck obediently paid, feeling a newfound respect for Ayden Ac. What a persistent person, and such dedication was truly admirable.

After the three left the bookstore, Ayden Ac thought for a mont and said, "Let’s find a place to stay. There’s no need to buy Donovan Blackwell a gift; it saves you so trouble."

"What do you an?" Yusuf Zuck asked, confused by Ayden Ac’s odd behavior.

"Donovan Blackwell isn’t in the city or at ho. I can’t et him even if I go, so why buy a gift?"

"How do you know?" Yusuf Zuck and Skeptic were both puzzled.

"I inquired. The clerk, soone we know, said Donovan Blackwell and Cory Richmond have both left the city."

"Where did they go?" Yusuf Zuck pursued the question.

"Let’s find a place to stay first, then we’ll talk. Sothing big has happened," Ayden Ac shook his head, appearing sowhat uneasy.

Yusuf Zuck followed him, and soon they arrived at an inn, not the Swallow House, but a place called Hundred Tastes Residence, which also combined dining and lodging.

The trio rented three superior rooms, received their room keys, and then entered the inn’s dining area by the window.

"Sothing big has happened," Ayden Ac said, taking a deep breath as he sat down, "There’s a legend of an ancient demon appearing, and demon cultivators from all over the world have gone missing. Donovan Blackwell and Cory Richmond have gone to Yingzui Peak in the Central Continent for a conference."

"What do you an? Explain in detail," Yusuf Zuck asked, curious.

"There’s a peerless demon erging, rallying others to its cause. There are many scattered demon cultivators in the world, and they have all disappeared without a trace."

"That doesn’t prove anything, does it?" Yusuf Zuck shook his head.

"It doesn’t indeed. It’s just a rumor from the streets. The true insider info isn’t like this and is still under wraps. So we can only hear vague bits of it. Even Cory Richmond attending the conference shows the gravity of the situation."

"Can we find out more details?" Yusuf Zuck asked again.

"No way. Only the ancestors or family heads of various clans would know the true secrets. Other insignificant figures wouldn’t be aware of it. Also, the Poetry and Prose Conference was canceled."

"No way, it’s canceled just like that?"

"Indeed, sothing big must have happened, or why would it be canceled?"

"Where is Yingzui Peak in the Central Continent? Should we join the fun?" Yusuf Zuck proposed.

"Sure, if you want to go, go ahead. With your speed and Skeptic’s, you’ll get there in seven or eight years," Ayden Ac joked with a sly grin.

"That long?"

"It’s far away. By the ti you get there, there will be no one left."

"What do we do now?" Skeptic asked proactively.

"I have nothing to do anymore. The Poetry and Prose Conference is canceled, I didn’t et Donovan Blackwell, and I bought my books. I am free to do as I please. But what about you? You must have a purpose here, right? Want to lend you a hand?" Ayden Ac winked at Yusuf Zuck, still unable to guess what purpose Yusuf Zuck and Skeptic had for visiting Yitian City.

"We have nothing much, just here for sightseeing, let’s eat," Yusuf Zuck shook his head. He’s engaged in sothing significant, not wanting Ayden Ac to find out, as any leak would be disastrous.

Ayden Ac was a smart person and didn’t ask more, while he seed to have sothing on his mind too, drinking cup after cup.

The two, each with their own thoughts, quickly finished eating and returned to their rooms.

Before dark, Yusuf Zuck took a turn in Ayden Ac’s room. Ayden Ac was reading, engrossed in the books he had just bought, and paid him a casual call before returning to his own room.

After nightfall, Yusuf Zuck opened the window and slipped down like a ghost. Of course, by this ti he had beco Invisible, transforming into Parasitic Light, swiftly darting through the streets.

At night, Yitian City was very quiet. Except for occasional squads of soldiers, there were no other people on the streets.

The city was under curfew; no one was allowed on the streets, or they’d get into serious trouble.

Yusuf Zuck deliberately brushed past a squad of soldiers to see if those of the Eternal Life Third Level could detect him.

After testing, he was quite satisfied as the soldiers showed no reaction, indicating that his cultivation level had increased, and thus his transford Parasitic Light had strengthened as well.

After he turned through a few streets, suddenly, his heart had a sharp contraction. That inexplicable feeling of bloodline resonance appeared out of nowhere, and he could feel soone who could resonate with him by bloodline was ahead of him to the left.

Stone Child.

Yusuf Zuck swiftly leaped to the rooftop, gazing ahead to the left.

It was a massive mansion, enormous in size, ablaze with lights. It even had a hundred-feet-high inner city wall and an invisible barrier covering it.

"Roar~ Roar Roar Roar~" Suddenly, the mansion erupted with furious roars, hoarse and urgent, also filled with imnse anger.

At that mont, Yusuf Zuck suddenly felt extrely sour in the nose, and his mood beca irritable.
