Yusuf Zuck couldn’t see anything in front of him and couldn’t use his Divine Consciousness; he only felt his body spiraling downward.
However, what happened next shocked him even more, as he felt his body becoming lighter and smaller the deeper he fell.
Yes, the entire body was shrinking—the bones shortening, the arms getting smaller, the heart getting smaller, the head shrinking, and so on.
Moreover, he discovered that as his body shrank, his age was also changing. Within just a breath or two, he found himself becoming a six or seven-year-old child.
But that wasn’t the end of it, because as he continued to fall, he kept changing.
Four years old, three years old, two years old... Bang...
Just when he shrank to the size of a newborn baby, he fell into the water. The massive shock was too much for his fragile body to bear, and a wave of drowsiness engulfed him, rendering him unconscious.
At the mont he lost consciousness, Yusuf Zuck’s main body suddenly opened its eyes because... because his avatar died!
It wasn’t that he passed out; that drowsiness was the dissolution of the soul, the demise of the avatar.
Yusuf Zuck was shocked. What kind of ghostly place was at the bottom of that Forgetful Cliff? It could shrink a person’s body, and by the ti one hit the water, life was snuffed out?
No... no... that water wasn’t real water; it seed like so kind of amniotic fluid!
Yusuf Zuck shivered violently. Jumping off this cliff must be a return to the furnace, an experience akin to reincarnation. The instant he fell into the water, his soul should have entered so maternal form, with mories erased, but the soul itself did not perish.
Yusuf Zuck felt increasingly certain of this possibility; leaping from the cliff was akin to entering the Road of Reincarnation.
"But that was my avatar. Although my avatar had a soul, it wasn’t the main soul, just a trace of it. When it fell into the water, the water must have obliterated that trace of my soul." Yusuf Zuck, being worldly wise, quickly guessed the significance of the Forgetful Cliff’s existence.
However, he couldn’t guess where this reincarnation would lead—to the human realm or the animal realm?
Of course, he didn’t want to try again, as there was no aning in it, and he certainly didn’t want to use his main body. After all, genuine reincarnation and mory loss would be terrifying consequences.
Just then, a streak of light unexpectedly arrived, landing directly atop the Forgetful Cliff.
Yusuf Zuck froze upon seeing the streak of light because... because it was Kenji May.
She stood right before him, less than a ter away, still looking the sa, still so delicate, still so lacking in smiles, still so heart-wrenching.
Rather than looking around, she sat down and joined her legs, staring dully down the cliff.
Yusuf Zuck’s heart thumped loudly, feeling both so close yet so far away.
She was still herself, yet at the sa ti not, having lost all mories of him, rendering them strangers, or even adversaries rather than friends.
Yet it shouldn’t be like this between them.
Still, was she sitting here waiting for him?
Yusuf Zuck didn’t move; he wanted to see what she intended and what Right Saint had up his sleeve.
However, he waited an entire day, and Kenji May sat there without moving or talking to herself.
Yusuf Zuck found it incredibly strange; ti had co, but why hadn’t Right Saint shown up? He only had Kenji May co over, yet he himself didn’t appear. Could it be Kenji May had a portable domain with Right Saint and others hiding within it?
After a few more hours passed, Kenji May suddenly took out her carried harp. After thinking for a mont, she placed her fingers on the strings and played lightly.
"Buzz~" The moving, familiar lody rang out, it was still the tune from "The Smiling, Proud Wanderer," and as Yusuf Zuck watched her play, it seed she smiled, with a hint of sweetness.
In an instant, ti seed to return to the past, back to when she played the tune for him.
Yusuf Zuck felt intense bitterness, and finally, unable to hold it in, he transford and appeared out of nowhere before Kenji May.
"Buzz~" His sudden appearance made Kenji May’s arms tremble, but her hands didn’t leave the harp strings. She was stunned for a mont before continuing to play as if wanting to finish the piece.
anwhile, she occasionally looked at him, seemingly searching for sothing.
Finally, as the piece ended, her palm pressed on the harp strings, facing Yusuf Zuck.
"Have you been here long?" she asked lightly.
"Mm, I’ve been here since yesterday." Yusuf Zuck nodded.
Kenji May touched the harp strings, "I heard I once loved you, is that true?"
"You’ve really forgotten everything? Can I help you retrieve it?" Yusuf Zuck’s eyes lit up.
Kenji May smiled, "Can you tell about our past?"
"Sigh~" Yusuf Zuck took a deep breath, then plopped down facing her, nodding, "That was a long, long ti ago. You ca to a college in the Divine Realm as a teacher. Of course, you were probably in disguise, and I was your assistant, responsible for your als, accommodations, and class arrangents."
"Then one day, we descended together. You weren’t talkative, but would always smile, a sweet, gentle smile."
"You carried into the Underground River, and I misbehaved, touching you all over. You were both annoyed and distressed, yet not angry..."
"You didn’t kill ? Not angry?" Kenji May expressed surprise, knowing well her own temperant; should any man dare touch her inappropriately, she’d have torn him apart.
"Because you fell in love with ." Yusuf Zuck chuckled. "And because I’m lovable."
"Turns out you’re a narcissist." Kenji May suddenly pouted, her mouth curling slightly.
Yusuf Zuck continued, "Later, I made this harp for you, and you learned to play the tune ’The Smiling, Proud Wanderer’ from Elijah Burch."
"Sotis I feel our bond was the purest, those days with you filled with an indescribable joy."
"Mm, I don’t dislike you now either." Kenji May looked at Yusuf Zuck, "Your face isn’t annoying, but I... really can’t rember you, I’m sorry."
"I told you, I can help you regain your mory, I can do it." Yusuf Zuck said eagerly.
Kenji May smiled but shook her head, then thought for a mont and said, "Right Saint asked to pass a ssage to you."
"Hmm?" Yusuf Zuck’s eyebrows raised, finally ntioning Right Saint.
"He said you’re destined to survive, and he won’t be coming this ti, just asked to et you once."
"He didn’t co? Not going to deal with ?" Yusuf Zuck wondered.
"I don’t know either, but I know that Right Saint regarding his plans is always precise. Also, Right Saint intends to give you a eting gift; he said Right Saint sent soone to your hotown."
"What?" Yusuf Zuck was shocked; his hairs stood on end.
"And I..." Kenji May gazed at Yusuf Zuck solemnly, "I also ca to bid farewell. Though I don’t rember you, I don’t dislike you, and believe I once loved you, so I won’t harm you, but between us, it will end here."
"Wha... what do you an?" Yusuf Zuck asked, puzzled.
Kenji May smiled, glanced once at the Forgetful Cliff, then looked back at Yusuf Zuck before suddenly standing up and leaping off the cliff.
"Ah... no..." At that mont, Yusuf Zuck felt his soul was about to fly away.
