318: Chapter 318: Expulsion 318: Chapter 318: Expulsion Hearing Yusuf Zuck’s words and seeing him sit down after speaking, Herman Holloway’s face imdiately fell.
If there were no other drivers in the team, Herman wouldn’t have lost face, but it wasn’t just Yusuf there; a few other drivers were watching.
And this Yusuf Zuck had just thrown shade at him, dropped his responsibilities?
Was he treating him, the boss, like nothing?
So how could Herman Holloway save face?
If word got out, wouldn’t the employees laugh him to death?
His authority would be severely undermined from then on.
“Fine, you won’t go, is that it?
Which of you has ti?” Herman Holloway coldly glanced at Yusuf Zuck before asking the others.
“I do.”
“I do…”
The other drivers imdiately ca forward eagerly, offering their services.
At the sa ti, they cursed inwardly non-stop, thinking whether this newcor surnad Zuck was a damn fool.
Did he really challenge the boss on his first day?
“Co with .” After a cold snort, Herman Holloway turned and left.
Yusuf Zuck fiddled with his phone, not paying him any more attention.
Herman Holloway was getting too bold.
Yusuf didn’t know the reason, but Holloway always looked at him with disdain or belittlent.
He wondered what he could have done to offend him.
After getting into the car, the more Herman Holloway thought about it, the angrier he got, and the angrier he got, the more he thought about it.
Before he had even left the fifth ring road, he called Ruth Wilcox.
“Ms.
Wilcox, I need to discuss sothing with you,” Herman Holloway said in a flat tone.
“About your driver, Yusuf Zuck, you should let him go.
I’ll help you find a more reliable and experienced driver.”
“Why?” Ruth Wilcox, who hadn’t left work yet, asked in a deep voice.
“It’s like this.
The lobby manager complained about him today, several drivers complained about him, and a few female attendants complained about him, too.”
“He was loud and boisterous in the lobby, smoking and laughing without restraint.
And since there are already enough spare drivers in the driver team, bringing in another one has caused dissatisfaction.
Regarding the female attendants, he supposedly spoke insolently and harassed them, causing several girls to cry.”
“Ms.
Wilcox, I hope you can understand ,” Herman Holloway said with a heavy sigh.
“Alright, I’ll talk to him.” Ruth Wilcox was boiling with anger inside, knowing there was no room for reversal in this matter.
Whether the complaints were real or not, she didn’t want Yusuf Zuck to be her driver anymore.
Perhaps Herman Holloway had another motive, which was to place his own person to watch over her, Ruth Wilcox.
It was clear to her as day, but she could only compromise, what with being new in town and with Yusuf Zuck’s disappointing behavior.
After hanging up with Herman Holloway, Ruth Wilcox called Yusuf Zuck and asked him to co upstairs.
Yusuf Zuck walked upstairs cheerfully, albeit with a bit of swagger, but upon arrival, he found Ruth Wilcox with a stern face.
“What’s up?” Yusuf Zuck asked, clueless.
“Which attendant did you harass?
Is your old habit acting up again?” Ruth Wilcox got straight to the point, addressing the harassnt accusation.
“Damn, who said I harassed an attendant?
Which one did I supposedly harass?” Yusuf Zuck was bewildered; he hadn’t harassed any attendants.
“Soone complained to Mr.
Holloway, saying you harassed them and even made them cry!”
“Herman Holloway said that?” Yusuf Zuck suddenly shook his head and laughed.
“This Mr.
Holloway is really good at stirring up trouble, damn.” Yusuf swore and then recounted what had happened downstairs earlier.
“Why is he targeting you?” After listening, Ruth Wilcox was also baffled!
“Don’t know, maybe it’s related to our first eting over dinner.
This guy is rcenary, but is that the reason he called to complain about to you?
Nothing else?” Yusuf Zuck asked curiously.
“There’s also the lobby manager who complained about you, along with the drivers.
They said to fire you and get an experienced driver instead.
Of course, this guy is cunning; probably ans he has soone watching .”
“So you agreed?” Yusuf Zuck raised an eyebrow.
“What else could I do?
The General Manager is in charge of personnel, so he has the right to decide who stays and who goes.
Informing was just to save face, so I wouldn’t be too embarrassed!”
“What a bastard,” Yusuf Zuck fud.
“In a few days, I must deal with him.”
“No, no, there’s no need for you to deal with it.
Besides, if I’m fired, I’m fired.
It’s actually for the best; it won’t interfere with your career.
But you still have to pick up from my house in the morning and after work in the evening.
I don’t want another driver,” Ruth Wilcox said, her face reddening.
“Heh heh, I’ll just stay at your place at night.
What’s this about picking you up?
So in the morning, I’ll take you, and in the evening, I’ll pick you up to go ho together!”
“Go on…
It’s all slick talk with you.” Ruth Wilcox gently pushed him with her hand.
“Alright, get in my car after work.
I’ll be waiting for you in the parking lot downstairs.
Damn Herman Holloway, I’ll show you!” Yusuf Zuck was furious.
“You’d better not do anything rash, like getting your people to beat him up or sothing.
I don’t like that kind of approach!” Ruth Wilcox warned.
“Of course not.
Beating him would be letting him off easy.
In a few days, when I acquire New Century, I’ll fire him and he can go begging on the streets!”
“There you go again.
Go downstairs now.
I need to finish so work and then I’ll co find you before we go to the supermarket.”
“Alright, I’ll wait for you downstairs!” Yusuf Zuck headed down, in high spirits.
Truth be told, being fired by Herman Holloway suited him just fine, but Holloway’s approach was downright despicable.
After going downstairs, while waiting for Ruth Wilcox who still needed a bit more ti, Yusuf Zuck called Alvin Petty in Hong Kong.
He couldn’t wait any longer; the Australian project would require funds later on, which he could gather from other sources, but he needed the funds for New Century now.
Of course, even after a full acquisition, it didn’t an an imdiate major overhaul.
At least, he wanted Ruth Wilcox to get accustod to everything in the position of Deputy General Manager first and then, after the Spring Festival, he would make a big move and take a portion of the people down.
On the phone, Alvin Petty was very polite, wishing a Happy New Year and chanting Jesse Newton—it was New Year’s Day after all, naturally ti to chant Jesse Newton!
“Second brother, I have an idea I’d like to run by you, just consider it.” After greetings, Yusuf Zuck went straight to the point, “I want to buy the remaining shares of New Century in Beijing, through official channels, a standard acquisition, and the funds will be substantial.
I hope you can help with this, just to notify the other shareholders!”
“You want full ownership?” Alvin Petty took a deep breath and paused before saying, “That will require more than ten billion in funds, you…”
“I have it!” Yusuf Zuck imdiately replied.
“Very well, I’ll work on it.
Shouldn’t be a problem.
Since you’re already a major shareholder, according to the original shareholder agreent, the first shareholder has the right to redeem the other shareholders’ shares.”
“Hmm, I don’t understand all that, but I can provide the funds.
Thanks a lot, second brother.
I appreciate the help.”
“It’s no trouble.
I’ll give you a call this ti tomorrow.” Alvin Petty said and then hung up.
anwhile, Alvin Petty also hurried ho from the company.
Yusuf Zuck’s intended full acquisition of New Century was sothing he needed to discuss with the old man.
After all, the original fifty-one percent of the shares had been given by the Petty Family.
Now Yusuf Zuck wanted all of them; whether to just hand them over or have Yusuf Zuck pay was a decision for the old man.
If the old man said no money was needed, just give the shares, then it wouldn’t matter if the Petty Family gave New Century entirely to Yusuf Zuck.
New Century was just one of the Petty Family’s investnts, a minor project, a re hair on the back of nine oxen, giving it away wouldn’t matter at all.
