However, rembering how he had stood up for her and helped her out before, she decided to temporarily let him off the hook.
Yusuf choked for a mont but couldn’t help laughing and said, “You, how can you talk like that?
How could I possibly die?”
“Yusuf, what are you doing?
How can you talk to Ms.
Wilcox like that?
Do you not want to work here anymore?” Samuel, not realizing the playful banter between Yusuf and Ms.
Wilcox, continued to butt in, staring at Yusuf greedily, as if to say how dare this guy, Yusuf, backtalk Ms.
Wilcox?
However, to Samuel’s surprise, when he finished speaking, Yusuf and Ruth simultaneously said, “It’s none of your business~”

“And close the door on your way out, no one is allowed in!” Ruth added as she saw Samuel turning to leave.
“Yes.” Samuel agreed, then helped the secretary up from the doorway, and closed the door behind him.
“Hi, beauty, so you’re my boss, huh!” Once Yusuf Zuck realized there wasn’t anyone else in the room, he chuckled and curiously looked around at the decor.
“You must co with to the hospital for a check-up; it won’t be good if you develop any complications later!” Ruth Wilcox remained as cold as ice, not softening her tone or manner despite their shared secret.
“Also, the money for the spicy hot pot is sixteen yuan, right?
I’m paying you back now!” As she spoke, Ruth Wilcox walked around to the other side of the desk to take money from the drawer.
“No way, absolutely not!” Yusuf Zuck abruptly stood up.
Accepting her sixteen yuan would an their interpersonal debt would be settled, and he wanted her to owe him a favor indefinitely.

With a “whoosh,” a pile of docunts flew over, and Yusuf Zuck sprinted out as if he was fleeing for his life.
Once the door closed, Ruth Wilcox stood there sowhat stunned.
What was she doing?
Throwing papers at soone?
And she wasn’t even genuinely angry?
Normally, it would’ve been impossible.
Usually, she would’ve been utterly disgusted if soone dared to flirt or even glance at her, but why hadn’t she felt disgusted with him just now?
“This is infuriating…” Not understanding what was happening with herself, Ruth Wilcox didn’t bother picking up the papers scattered on the floor.
Instead, she sat down on her swivel chair, her mind replaying the scenes from their encounter at the spicy hot pot diner.
“Who would’ve thought it was such a coincidence.” After a while, Ruth Wilcox murmured to herself with a wistful smile before picking up the phone on her desk to call HR: “Head of HR, send the file of the security guard Yusuf Zuck.”
