While Reiger was lost in his thoughts, outside Sphinx, the intense air battle continued.
The rumbling grew louder and louder, and under the reckless charge of those thoroughly crazed abyssal followers, so eventually reached the front of Sphinx, striving to assault the protective barrier.
Seeing this, the Knights of the Sky Division were incensed, their strikes becoming increasingly ruthless. Especially the two Knight Captains, sweeping through and slaying nurous abyssal followers and their beasts within a few rounds.
Luan and Andre, the two bishops, also took action, alongside the clerical troupe of the church, launching magic attacks continuously towards the abyssal followers outside the battleship, shooting down many of them on the spot.
But even so, the abyssal followers were like locusts, ceaselessly breaking through, gathering more and more in front of the protective barrier of the battleship.
If it weren’t for Sphinx’s defensive barrier being resistant enough to withstand even a saint’s attack, sothing common folk couldn’t possibly destroy, they would definitely have charged onto the deck by now.
Seeing this, lo and Naisa frowned, looking quite displeased.
It seems, they had underestimated the enemy.
Though the other side wasn’t as densely populated with talents as the Dark Relief Center, the numbers were great, and under such desperate aggression, even if they wanted to deal with them, it couldn’t be accomplished easily.
The two wanted to join the battle, but recalling last night’s events, they decided to stay by Reiger’s side without rash interference.
"If you want to take action, just do it," Reiger seed to read the thoughts of the two won, saying, "I’ve already said, I can protect myself."
He didn’t need protection at all, a fact Reiger had repeated countless tis.
Yet lo and Naisa still shook their heads, choosing to stay by Reiger’s side.
"We can’t always rely on you to step in."
"Exactly, or we would seem too useless."
lo and Naisa spoke in agreent.
"Fine then," Reiger didn’t insist, he simply said, "But continuing like this is a sheer waste of ti."
Considering the enemy’s capabilities, they shouldn’t be able to break through Sphinx’s protective barrier and reach him.
If so, as long as the Sky Division and clerical troupe strive to besiege them, these abyssal followers will sooner or later be wiped out.
However, proceeding that way would indeed be a waste of ti.
"Could it be..."
"Do you intend for Marfa to step in again?"
lo and Naisa’s expressions shifted slightly.
Should Marfa’s Sword be unleashed, those flying beasts corrupted by the Abyssal Aura would lose control in an instant, and the abyssal followers would lose aerial supremacy and excellent maneuverability, ceasing the air battle.
Yet, given last night’s circumstances, the two young girls already harbored a psychological shadow.

But even with such uniqueness, ultimately, didn’t Marfa’s Sword successfully shatter them and escape alone?
If the Holy Sword were so easily dragged into the abyss, over the years, there wouldn’t have been only one Moslo’s Sword departing the source, only to be brought to Akashia continent by the Reinnaier family.
Nonetheless, lo and Naisa’s concerns weren’t unfounded, as the self-acting Holy Sword couldn’t unleash power comparable to when wielded by a recognized Master.

Reiger decided to unleash a trump card.

In the sky, an ominous presence suddenly pervaded the environnt, enveloping the entire world.
"Hehehe..."
Accompanied by a lodious, gentle laugh, everyone noticed.
In front of Sphinx, before the floating magic-guided battleship, a graceful figure appeared.
Long, waist-length green hair wafted in the breeze.
Her attire, attuned with nature, fluttered lively.
The tainted fairy, Aleye, amid everyone’s astonishnt, entered the battlefield.
"I recognize this scent."
The fairy maiden tilted her head, looking at the abyssal followers shrouded in dense abyssal aura, displaying a joyful smile unseen for a long ti.
"It’s the scent of corruption."
"It’s the scent of filth."
"A scent that displeases yet irresistibly compels one to free oneself, shaking off all restraint, and plunge into chaos."
Aleye spread her arms, addressing the maddened abyssal followers, spoke gleefully.
"Though you seem unappealing, and I have no wish to beco one with you, shall we play together?"
"Nad slaughter... the ga."
The pleasant, cheerful, ethereal laughter echoed into everyone’s ears present, causing the Sky Division, clerical troupe, and everyone aboard the floating magic-guided battleship to quiver, their hearts seized with uncontrollable dread.
