In the Source, even children under ten years of age know one thing clearly.
That is, thousands of years ago, there were three empires in the Source.
Among these three empires, there was one with imnse legendary and historical significance, whose na continues to be recited by everyone even today.
Simply because this empire was the first to welco the Savior, it was the ho of the Holy Sword Moslo—one of the three sacred swords that has now faded from sight.
In the era when the Holy Sword Moslo existed, this empire could be said to have led the grand era of the Source.
The reason was nothing other than the fact that the Masters chosen by the Holy Sword Moslo appeared generation after generation within this empire, maintaining deep and profound ties with it.
This empire followed the guidance of successive Saviors, over and over, fighting bravely on the frontline against the Abyss, repeatedly repelling invasions together with the Saviors.
Against this historical backdrop, almost the entire Source was dominated by this empire, and as a result, the human race firmly secured its dominion over the Source World, officially becoming the mightiest life form in the Source, feared by countless other races.
Unfortunately, no matter which world you’re in, there is no eternal prosperity, nor everlasting strength.
The empire that flourished once upon a ti eventually beca a thorn in the Abyss, an eyesore, and over ten thousand years ago, it suffered a large-scale invasion from the Abyss.
During that ti, with the assistance of forces composed of nurous Abyss followers, the Abyss paid a huge price to open the largest known gate within the borders of this empire.
It is said that behind that gate, not only was there an endless army of Abyssal creatures, but also a hundred Abyss Demon Lords descended personally, launching a brutal and bloody massacre on the empire’s capital.
In that battle, the last recorded Master of the Holy Sword Moslo in the Source World was seriously injured in a fierce battle with an incredibly powerful Abyss Demon Lord, who was acclaid as one of the Ten Kings of the Abyss, having no choice but to withdraw from the frontline and return to the other world.
The empire could only defend against the invading Abyssal army while hoping for the next Savior to arrive with the Holy Sword, to lead them to victory against the Abyss as in the past.
In the end, they waited for a full two thousand years.
During the long two thousand years and amidst the constant invasions by the Abyss, this empire finally spilled its last drop of blood and was utterly destroyed.
The empire’s territory was completely overrun, becoming an Abyssal region.
Thus, the mighty empire that once led the Source and brought humanity to dominance fell, leaving only two of the three human empires, with the most famous of the three sacred swords, the Holy Sword Moslo, lost to the other world, its glory never returning to the Source.
To prevent the Abyssal creatures occupying the entire empire’s territory from erging and continuing to ravage the Source World’s map, the forces of various human nations, aided by the major forces of other life forms, constructed a colossal defensive line at the empire’s border, halting the advance of the Abyssal army.
The largest defense line against the Abyss within the Source World is nad — Nanyelga.
"Is that the defense line ntioned in the books?"
When the super-large floating magic-guided battleship Sphinx traveled north and reached its destination, Reiger, now on deck, finally saw that rumored line of defense.
Before him, a towering wall, like a thousand-mile Great Wall, bisected the vast land in two, majestic and dragon-like as it lay across the earth, similar to a never-ending mountain range, vanishing beyond the horizon.
On the other side of the great wall was a land veiled in black mist all year round, making it impossible to discern its depths.
"Boom——"
The black mist seed like a ferocious beast, sotis crashing into the great wall, causing it to emit a deafening roar.
Yet the great wall firmly kept the black mist at bay. Even when the mist attempted to bypass it, trying to charge over its top, it collided as if against an invisible towering mountain, failing again.
"What an incredible wall."
Reiger exclaid in awe.
"How was this built?"
The one to answer Reiger’s question was Naisa, standing beside him, watching with a heavy expression.
"Like the three sacred swords, Nanyelga was also crafted by the dwarf race, known for their divine craftsmanship."
No sooner had Naisa finished speaking, lo continued.
"According to historical records, this defense line was originally commissioned by the now-ruined empire to the divine craftsn of the dwarves. To forge this line, the empire exhausted its treasury and consud over half of the resources provided by various races, achieving its birth."
This part, Reiger had read in books.
It’s said that the resources, manpower, financial resources, and materials expended on Nanyelga reached an unbelievable level, with the dwarves having paid an enormous price as well, even causing the death of several divine craftsn, until the successful creation of this defensive line.
