In recent days, the Nasalik Underground Tomb had begun infiltrating this world, no longer just staying in its base to defend.
Based on the basic intelligence obtained from Reiger, Ainz dispatched the Guardians and so of the NPCs from Nasalik, each assigned to different tasks.
So were tasked with establishing good relations with the natives of this world to provide Nasalik with intelligence and materials, while others were on hunting missions, secretly taking so of the natives back to Nasalik for various experints.
Because of this, the Nasalik Underground Tomb was no longer isolated, but had made nurous contacts with this world.
Thanks to this, Ainz learned quite a bit about the basic situation of this world.
For instance, most of the natives of this world were very weak.
The individuals regarded as heroes were not even level 30 in "YGGDRASIL."
The highest level of magic that humans could use was, at most, the sixth tier, with no one capable of using magic beyond the seventh tier.
This fact was quite shocking to Ainz.
After all, sixth-tier magic in "YGGDRASIL" was often disdained by most players even for monster hunting. In training areas suitable for level 100 players, Ainz usually used magic of the eighth tier or higher, with magic below the sixth tier almost never finding use.
Yet, in this world, using sixth-tier magic was already the human limit, and it seed that currently, there was only one person in the surrounding countries who could use this tier of magic.
Having learned this intelligence, Ainz was relieved yet also worried.
He was relieved because he knew this world was not like he had previously feared, filled with characters at or exceeding max level. The natives were actually weak, at least not formidable adversaries for the Nasalik Underground Tomb.
He was worried because of the exchange of intelligence with Reiger.
Humans could only use up to sixth-tier magic, yet before that mysterious information broker, he had revealed even higher-ranked magic.
In those spells, not to ntion the seventh tier, he had even demonstrated magic of the tenth tier to Reiger.
Wasn’t that like plainly telling the man that he was no ordinary person, or even a human at all?
"If only I had been more cautious," Ainz complained in his heart, mumbling, "But that guy is also to bla, right?"
If no human in this world could use magic beyond the seventh tier, why did that man remain so calm when he saw such magic?
If he had shown more surprise or emotion at the ti, Ainz might not have revealed magic above the seventh tier without much suspicion.
Moreover, the spell that man used to "say hello" was definitely not as simple as sixth-tier magic.
Not to discuss the additional effects, just considering the power he felt directly at the ti, that greeting had to be magic of at least the ninth tier or higher.
Its range, being able to strike from the ground to thousands of ters high in the sky, might even surpass many tenth-tier spells.
It was seeing that spell that made Ainz subconsciously think that in this world, magic of the tenth tier might not be that remarkable an ability.
In "YGGDRASIL", tenth-tier magic was also not rare, and players who mastered super-tier magic were everywhere. How could one imagine, then, that such magic was so extraordinary?
"Oh well, fretting now is of no use," Ainz shook his head and calmly said, "The priority is to confirm who Reiger Brillhaut truly is and whether he has divulged our information."
Why could he remain so calm upon sighting magic beyond the seventh tier?
Why does he claim adventurer as his main profession when he had only recently beco one?
Is his identity as an information broker really genuine?
Being able to cast a "greeting" spell of that caliber, is that person a special case in this world, a powerful being unlike normal people, or... is he just like ?
Could he also be a player from "YGGDRASIL"?
Ainz’s heart was filled with too many questions regarding Reiger.
Now that he knew the other party was in Y’lan-Tiel, that might be considered a good thing, right?
"Should we notify Lady Albedo to send soone over to capture this worm?"
Narberal asked Ainz.
"Don’t act rashly," Ainz shook his head and objected, "We must not make a move on him without first understanding the details of his background, or to say, his actual strength."
"Understood," Narberal nodded sowhat reluctantly.
In her view, there really was no need to be so cautious.
She did not believe that a creature like a human, could have power to rival the Supre Sovereign and the Guardians.
Humans were weak, despicable, and such petty beings that the Supre Sovereign wouldn’t even need to be concerned about, ones that could easily be crushed by hand.
If stepped on, perhaps so pleasant cries would be emitted, serving to slightly please the lords, but beyond that, what significance could such insects have?
Absolutely none!
But since Ainz, as the Supre Sovereign, had said so, she just needed to follow suit.
Thus, Narberal, with a mindset completely different from the cautious Ainz, arrived at the adventurer guild.
"Oh?"
At that mont, Ainz stopped in his tracks.
The reason was simple.
"Is that the challenge spoken of in the rumors?"
In front of the large gate of the adventurer guild, on the fairly spacious street, many fully ard adventurers were either gathered there or had drawn their weapons, collectively facing one direction with faces full of vigilance.
Across from them stood just one person.
A person who had just been ntioned compelled Ainz to pay attention.
"Reiger Brillhaut!"
An adventurer wielding an axe and a round shield, who appeared to be the leader among these challengers, had a platinum tal badge hanging around his neck. He grinned while shouting at the person surrounded by his group.
"You said it yourself that you could bring your whole team, so don’t call despicable!"
This statent naturally earned him many contemptuous looks.
Making a gang fight sound so righteous was a skill in itself.
However, the surrounded Reiger responded without changing his expression.
"Then hurry up and don’t block the way here. If you hinder the operations of the adventurer guild again, the guild leader might have to complain to again."
With that, Reiger beckoned to the adventurers surrounding him with his fingers.
This single gesture greatly provoked the pride of these spirited adventurers.
"Let’s see how long you can be smug!" shouted the axe-wielding adventurer. "Attack him! Give him a good beating!"
Hearing this, the surrounding adventurers roared in unison and charged at Reiger.
Their equipnt was not inferior; they all wore armor, and even if it was not tallic, it was made of monster hide with a faint flow of magic power, clearly enchanted.
From this, it was evident that these adventurers were not of ordinary capability.
In fact, the tal badges on their necks attested to this, whether made of gold or platinum, signaling to passersby that they were either gold or platinum level adventurers.
Being sward by adventurers of such rank, let alone at the Mithril tier or Mountain Copper tier, a perfect resolution was uncertain.
Yet, such a formidable group of adventurers was dismantled in an instant.
"Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!"...
With each thumping sound, high-ranking adventurers scread in turn, flying back even faster than they had charged at Reiger.
Reiger, either kicking or striking with the scabbard of his unsheathed sword, sent each attacking adventurer flying, smashing them against the walls of nearby buildings or turning them into rolling gourds on the ground.
These adventurers did not even have the chance to attack before Reiger darted close and sent them flying.
"Magic Arrow!"
"Magic Arrow!"
"Magic Arrow!"
Several Magic Singers, unable to keep up with Reiger’s speed and unable to aim their spells, resorted to using the sure-hit "Magic Arrow" against him.
"Bang!"
Reiger simply waved his sword’s scabbard and shattered the incoming light arrows with ease, as if breaking a few pieces of glass.
"Bang!"
Before long, those Magic Singers also faced Reiger’s fierce kick, being sent flying with a thud.
Such scenes continued for about half a minute.
Half a minute later, without exception, all challengers were lying on the ground, unable to get up.
"It seems you’re not up to the task either."
Reiger put back his sword’s scabbard and stood among the fallen crowd, his expression unchanged from beginning to end.
"Clap clap clap clap!"
The onlooking crowd imdiately clapped generously, offering their praises.
"Indeed, he won again."
"I knew it, Mr. Brillhaut would win."
"Trying to challenge Mr. Brillhaut, it’s impossible without reaching Mithril tier."
"Even I think it’s doubtful with Mithril tier."
People chattered in small groups, unsurprised by the outco.
"Hmm..."
Ainz, who had witnessed everything, let out a low noise, suggesting admiration but also caution.
"Tsk..."
Narberal, however, seed sowhat disdainful.
At her level, it was just child’s play.
"If Lord Ainz stepped forward, that insect would’ve lost long ago."
Reiger seed to have heard this.
He suddenly turned his head and looked over.
Imdiately afterward, a sly smile appeared on Reiger’s face.
