The temple, the hall.
Having successfully acquired the unknown great treasure, Reiger and his group returned here.
Maya seed as though she had already completed the main mission of entering the temple this ti. Although she didn’t leave or let anyone leave, she appeared sowhat disinterested, paying no mind to Revin and Nipede, who were still undergoing the trial.
Liz looked heavily preoccupied, holding the ring she had just acquired. She didn’t put it on but kept holding it in her hand, seemingly lost in thought.
Reiger really wanted to console Liz, but he knew that her mind must be a bit chaotic right now. Although a clue about her origins had erged, it seed to only make the burden heavier, undoubtedly leaving the ntally fragile princess exhausted.
"I’ll give her so ti to calm down on her own."
That was the decision Reiger finally made.
After making this decision, Reiger, with a ponderous Liz, continued to wander through the temple hall and examined the murals.
The remaining murals primarily depicted the history of humans resisting magical creatures, occasionally interspersed with scenes of worshiping gods.
After seeing these murals, Reiger discovered sothing new.
"Not everyone gets the chance to perform Dinsional Travel, only the chosen ones, through the power of the dinsional cube, also known as the power of the gods, can go to Different Dinsion Worlds to obtain power and arms."
On the murals, the few individuals who stepped upon the light stairs ford by the dinsional cube and traveled to Different Dinsion Worlds were depicted.
Additionally, these individuals all seed to have a connection with Moslo’s sword, as they were typically holding a golden ancient sword in their hands.
At first, Reiger thought the traveler who had undergone Dinsional Travel was always the original person, until he noticed that the line drawings of these individuals differed slightly. The most obvious difference was that several figures were portrayed with female outlines, which differed significantly from those of males.
For this reason, Reiger realized that these travelers who had undergone Dinsional Travel were not the sa person.
But, regardless of whether they were male or female, young or old, they all held Moslo’s sword in their hands, and that was certain.
"So, are they all Liz’s tribespeople?"
"Only the direct descendants of the original person who first had the opportunity for Dinsional Travel can have the qualification to perform Dinsional Travel like him?"
"The original person who obtained the power... that lineage... Hero King...?"
Reiger felt like he could piece so things together.
"It won’t do; just looking at murals, the information I can gather is seriously limited."
Reiger thought it over and decided to ask Maya if he could peruse the books in the temple, preferably those recording the history of ancient magic civilizations.
However, when Reiger asked Maya, she gave him so bad news.
"Books containing the secrets and history of my era were mostly stolen by those deceitful rascals who betrayed ."
Saying this, Maya brought Reiger into the temple’s library, allowing him to see the shelves that had beco emptier.
"Whether it be magic books or books on sword techniques, valuable ones were all taken by those detestable thieves; only so valueless old books remain. These books docunt the customs and cultures of my era and might be treasures for scholars who love researching history and tracing the developnt of ancient tis, but they are surely of no use to you, right?"
Maya, looking fed-up, told Reiger this.
"Once those two guys complete their trials, I plan to give them these remaining books; I believe they will be able to extract so value from them. As for you, forget it; you obviously aren’t interested."
It must be said, Maya was very accurate in her judgnt, so much so that Reiger really wanted to ask her, seeing as her judgnt of people was so precise, how she was still deceived by a bunch of suspicious individuals in the past.
But if he voiced this thought, it would certainly anger Maya, so Reiger tactfully kept his mouth shut.
"So you’re saying, there’s nothing of value left in this temple?"
Reiger couldn’t hide the disappointnt in his voice.
"Anyway, anything that could be taken, those hateful thieves surely wouldn’t have missed. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have even broken into the Sealed Room. What’s left are basically things they either didn’t want or couldn’t take," Maya frowned and said, "Like the ring that girl took, the identifying tool guarding it is quite strong. Except for that girl, anyone who touched it would be struck by a powerful magic spell set up in advance, included."
The remaining treasures in the temple were like this, either too valuable and protected ticulously so no one could take them, or of little value.
Of course, using Maya’s words, she wouldn’t feel heartache giving away these less valuable items, just right for Revin and Nipede to gain sothing.
Regardless, they are remnants of an ancient magic civilization; whether it be treasures or knowledge, perhaps they wouldn’t imdiately benefit characters like Revin and Nipede. But as long as they took these items to research and analyze, they might be able to revive so valuable techniques that could boost the developnt of modern magic civilization.
Even if the techniques were very basic and common, after all, skyscrapers are built from the ground up. As long as they continued to explore these technologies and knowledge, modern magic civilization could accelerate its developnt and, based on this, further higher-level technologies could be developed.
Anyway, these things were useless to Reiger and not highly valued by Maya, but they were just perfect for Revin who had national power behind him and Nipede, a master in the Magic world.
However, with that, Reiger’s journey could be considered fruitless, having only gathered a bunch of useless autonomous guardian cores.
Unfortunately, once Maya knew that most of the giant guardian cores had been taken by Reiger, she directly asked him for them.
"Those giant guardians are one of the main battle strengths of this city. Since they are useless to you, you should just leave them here," she said.
Moral righteousness buoyed Maya’s demands, forcing Reiger to return all of the cores to her.
Yet, Reiger was not one to suffer a loss without doing sothing about it.
Since there were no gains, he decided to create so.
With this thought, Reiger asked Maya to teach him the two types of magic she had used before.
Yes, Reiger was interested in Maya’s magic.
It was, after all, magic from an ancient magical civilization, and its effects were trendously powerful, as Reiger had fully experienced.
Indeed, those two spells were very powerful.
"These are the two spells I specialize in, one offensive and one defensive. With these two well-mastered spells, I usually have an absolute advantage in most battles," Maya explained.
"Holy Rite·Aurora."
"Holy Craft·Wheel Mirror."
"These are the nas of the two spells I specialize in."
Holy Rite·Aurora was the teor-like Flash Magic, light attribute, with effects that scaled with the user’s capability and magical power output, enhancing both power and speed. The stronger the user’s abilities, and the more magic power they output, the stronger and faster the magic beca. Additionally, it had various features like tracking, charging, concentrating, and long-range manipulation, making it a high-level offensive magic that could grow and strengthen alongside its user.
Holy Craft·Wheel Mirror, on the other hand, was the magic mirror that Maya had summoned several tis, dark attribute, capable of absorbing other people’s magic and reflecting it back, with the limit of absorption and reflection depending on the user’s capabilities and the amount of magic power output. It could be used multiple tis; as long as it wasn’t shattered, this mirror would persistently follow the user, absorbing and reflecting all magic aid at them, serving as a kind of ultimate counterattack against magic.
Maya told Reiger that she had spent her life studying these two spells that grew stronger with their user, neglecting all other types of magic to maximize the power of these two.
For this reason, Maya had even forsaken physical defense, to such an extent that the high priest could hardly stand to see it and had to spend a great deal of effort to craft a Vestnt robe specifically to fend off physical attacks.
Whether this approach was right or wrong, Maya had already proven the point.
Her ability to fight Reiger to a draw with just these two spells said it all.
At least in Reiger’s opinion, Maya’s strength was indeed above Revin and Nipede.
What did this imply?
It implied that Maya was not just at Lv.7 anymore, but most likely beyond it, reaching a level not even found in Maze City Orario — "Lv.8."
If it weren’t for Reiger’s mastery in magic slightly surpassing his swordsmanship and possessing the ultimate weapon like Ti Magic, he might not have been able to defeat Maya.
"Holy Rite·Aurora..."
"Holy Craft·Wheel Mirror..."
Reiger listened closely to Maya’s explanation of these two spells, morizing their detailed effects.
Once he confird that "The Omnipotence" had taken effect and the spells were now endowed with his surna, Reiger grinned, ending the lecture.
An advanced offensive spell and an ultimate counterattack technique — they had just beco Reiger’s own.
Afterward, about half a day passed, and Revin and Nipede finally returned to the temple’s hall, both heavily scarred.
They had passed the trial and obtained the remaining books in the temple and so magic tools left behind by the ancient magical civilization from Maya.
"Is everything over?" asked Maya calmly, "Then everyone, leave."
Upon hearing this, everyone left the temple with satisfied expressions, eting up with Kazi and the others waiting outside.
"Rumble rumble..."
Accompanied by a tremor, the temple’s barrier restored itself to its original state, hiding its traces as if nothing had happened.
