One could say that without him, Fairy Country Britannia would not exist, and Morgan would not have beco the king of this otherworldly domain.
It was because of what Beryl did that Morgan considered him an accomplice and received him in the form of an ally.
Koyanskaya was mocking this very fact.
After all, originally, Beryl was supposed to beco one of the controllers of this otherworldly domain and have a servant of considerable strength for combat power.
But now, he had completely ssed everything up.
"...Could you not call that, please?"
The smile on Beryl’s face disappeared as if he had been touched on a sore spot, and he lowered his head, hiding his gaze behind the reflective lenses of his glasses.
"What?" Koyanskaya, on the other hand, pulled up a smile that resembled a fierce, bestial chuckle, devoid of any feeling, "Or do you still want to kill ? Just you?"
Beryl fell into silence.
Koyanskaya also ceased to speak.
Man and beast eyed each other, and a terrible murderous intent started to pervade the air.
The two beings who regarded human life as worthless had entered into a confrontation, giving off the impression that a deadly fight could break out at any mont.
In the end, it was Beryl who stepped back first, retracting his killing intent.
"All right." Beryl once again feigned surrender, "I’m just an ordinary human, I wouldn’t dare to oppose the renowned Beast."
"Enough with the lies, Beryl Gate." Koyanskaya scoffed at his words, "For you, there’s no one in this world you can’t kill. If I were to believe your nonsense, perhaps next ti it will be getting stabbed in the back, right through the heart."
It’s indisputable that Beryl Gate is human.
And having lost his servant, he should have also lost his threat—at least, he shouldn’t have been considered by an existence like Koyanskaya.
But if one were to ignore this wereman with such thoughts, the consequences would surely be dire.
He is human, yes, but his heart is as much a beast as Koyanskaya’s.

This man was at his best in finding opportunities for ambush, and once he struck, the success rate was nearly a hundred percent.
Therefore, Koyanskaya didn’t believe a single word Beryl said.
If it hadn’t been for the deal she had with this man, providing her with a decent product, she would never have agreed to keep him safe after his successful ambush, lest he be killed by the frenzied servants of Chaldea.
"I’m going back to Gloucester."
With that, Koyanskaya coldly addressed Beryl.
"You’d better think about what to do next."
Having lost his only servant and the puppet he had manipulated at will, Beryl could be said to be completely without any combat power.
How would he act next, and how would he target Chaldea?
Koyanskaya would wait and see.

And then, Koyanskaya’s figure vanished from the spot.
Unnoticed by her, a dangerous curve was forming at the corners of Beryl’s mouth.
"What cos next, huh?"
Beryl whispered with a low chuckle.
"Do I even need to say it?"
"You see, I’m quite devoted."
"Until I’ve properly conveyed my affections to little Matthew, I don’t plan to just let things be."
As he spoke, Beryl reached out his hand, and picked up an object left behind by the abandoned Galyanscaya on the ground.
Lo and behold, it was Galyanscaya’s severed tail.
"Although it doesn’t match what I truly desired, I’ll settle for this, as obtaining it is still a great deal."
Beryl lifted Galyanscaya’s tail and, unbelievably, started to gnaw on it.
He, in fact, ate Galyanscaya’s tail.
"Hmph... Hahaha..."
In a deep chuckle, the eyes behind Beryl’s glasses had turned into a pair of golden beast-like pupils.
"Your power, I’ll unceremoniously make use of it."
Under the moonlight, the werewolf started to transform, becoming a massive beast that stirred up a dark storm, and howled to the sky.

Slowly, the sky began to brighten.
When the twilight sky replaced the night and returned to the Fairy Country’s Britannia, Reiger too slowly awakened from his deep slumber.
"Hiss..."
Upon waking, Reiger imdiately felt a tearing pain throughout his body, causing him to inhale sharply.
"What’s happened to ...?"
At first disoriented, Reiger quickly recollected himself.
"I used the Holy Lance and repelled Galyanscaya."
With the return of his mory, Reiger quickly looked around.
He saw a ceiling close at hand and a cramped space akin to a carriage compartnt.
A swaying sensation hit him, making Reiger imdiately realize his current situation.
He was lying in a carriage compartnt, apparently being transported along with it on a journey.
"Huh..."
Next to him, a fairy girl was soundly asleep against the compartnt wall, cradling a Scepter of Selection.
Who else could it be but Altoria?
"[Diya Flatel]."
After looking intently at Altoria for a while and seeing she did not awake, Reiger didn’t disturb her and cast a high-level healing magic without chanting, to treat his own injuries.
He still bore injuries on his body, but they appeared to have been tended to and treated, just not fully healed yet, which is why he felt the tearing pain upon awakening.
"Was it the work of the people from Chaldea?"
Reiger quickly formulated a guess.
No help for it, Altoria was a clumsy mage, definitely not capable of any healing magic, and Alberon was likely much the sa, so only Chaldea’s Master or Da Vinci would have the ans to heal and tend to his wounds.
This guess was confird in the next second.
"Hmm? You’re already awake?"
The curtain of the carriage was drawn back, and a young girl popped in from outside, showing a surprised expression upon seeing Reiger sitting up.
"Leonardo Da Vinci."
Reiger instinctively called out the other person’s na.
"Just call Da Vinci." Da Vinci smiled at Reiger and, no longer reticent, cheerfully and with a hint of astonishnt said, "It looks like you’ve recovered quite well. I thought that after exhausting your spiritual power to such an extent, you wouldn’t have woken up so soon."
Having activated the Holy Lance, Reiger had indeed completely exhausted his Magic Power, resulting in a state of spiritual exhaustion.
This was Reiger’s first experience with spiritual exhaustion.
