The second Wind Spirit let out that eery coo and zipped over to after noticing that its peer was now in two pieces on the floor, that bluish silver blood staining my thin leather cuirass and dripping off of my dagger.

I was a little surprised by its speed as it darted from side to side while heading straight at , so I didn’t have much ti to conjure up another Fla Lash and attempt to blanket the airspace in front of with a cracking whip of fire.

The idea of attempting to land a blow on it with the dagger while it was moving so fast was not a pleasant one, so I put my energy into dashing off to the side to avoid the initial attack, which ca in the form of three crescent blades of wind cutting through the air I had been a mont earlier.

Effectively canceling the surprise opening that the Wind Spirit had taken, I was able to reset the fight and start from the beginning again, which was going to allow to cast another Fla Lash as I attempted to repeat the first fight I had won.

It wouldn’t teach a lot but it would help whet the palate a little for killing monsters, sothing that would probably weigh on a little since this was the first ti that I had ever killed sothing that was larger than an ant.

For now though the build up of that hot power in my left hand gave a sense of reassurance as I kept my eyes locked on the zipping Wind Spirit, the four or five foot gap between us about to be filled with burning flas.

Letting the long lash flop against the ground, I took note of how the Wind Spirit this ti built up a brilliant sphere of green around itself in response, which crackled when I finally cracked my arm around and whipped the little monster.

That sphere blocked most of the power from my whip, preventing from doing the exact sa thing that I had before but still giving so advantages as I stunned the Wind Spirit for just a mont.

Deciding to take advantage of that, I dashed forwards and aid my dagger right at its chest, catching the monster off guard as it tried to lift its tiny arms in defense only for it to beco impaled on my blade.

The way it slumped across my dagger the mont the blade pierced it was disconcerting, but just to make sure the Wind Spirit was dead I flicked my wrist to the side and sent the monster’s body tumbling to the ground.

It rolled for a foot or two before just laying on the ground lifelessly, blood pooling around it and causing that green glow around it to flicker and fade before it was gone completely, signaling the death of the Wind Spirit.

Tearing my eyes off of it and turning towards the final monster in the cavern, I breathed a bit of a sigh of relief when I noticed it wasn’t focused on yet, which allowed to take it on in a different way from its two Wind oriented cousins.

Shifting the dagger over to my left hand and building up mana in both hands, I pointed at the Fire Spirit and began to create an arrow of fire, taking aim at it from afar before letting it loose and watching as it arced through the air between us.

Since it wasn’t that far and the arrow was fast I didn’t have to wait that long to see the impact, which overwheld the pulsing red aura around the Fire Spirit so that it could punch through its chest and kill the doll imdiately.

Seeing it drop to the ground after having just been floating around was a bit graphic to , yet at the sa ti the imdiate pat on the butt from Kha’Miero split my mind into multiple things, not allowing to dwell on the consequences of my actions.

"Good job. Sowhat sloppy but overall not terrible. The second Wind Spirit was the one that hurt your ’grade’ here. Try and keep your attention around you at all tis when fighting, because no one and no monsters are going to let you just have consistent one on ones.

Now, here’s the next part that you need to learn; these Spirits have so ingredients that we can gather, and since we aren’t here for long we should do this quick. Their wings primarily, but if you want we can also check for their Cores, though you did seem to aim center mass for all three of them..."

"W-Was I not supposed to..?"

"Don’t ever try and fight around a certain point on your target. Your survival is worth more than whatever material you are trying to harvest, especially if you aren’t a seasoned adventurer or if you are alone. The Cores would just be a nice little bonus, but they aren’t important."

Giving another pat on the rear, Kha’Miero approached the bisected Wind Spirit first and carefully flipped its upper torso around, using her bulky fingers in a surprisingly delicate way to pluck the translucent wings off of the back of the pale skinned doll.

"These are worth a Diadem per pair, which isn’t a lot but when you can kill dozens of them in just a few minutes, it is definitely not that bad. If we co back on one of our off days we can set a goal for these and make a fair amount of money, so long as we give it our all."

Handing the sowhat bloodied wings, Kha’Miero stood up and stared at for a mont before pointing towards my belt, where a few different things were hanging; empty pouches, vials and then the sheath for my dagger.

"Put the wings in a pouch; they don’t need to be whole because they are primarily ground down into a powder for potions. If you want we can also bleed the Spirits and fill that vial there with their blood, which is also a potion ingredient. Might get two Diadems, maybe three for an entire vial."

That made blanch a little, so the Draconian just shrugged and walked over to the next corpse, gesturing for to harvest the wings this ti; I will admit that I struggled a little, but beneath her gaze I steeled myself and just tugged on them, surprised by how easily they popped out of the back of the Spirit.

Adding them to the pouch and ignoring the macabre action I was taking, I moved to the next and did the sa thing, very aware of how the Draconian was watching as I did so.
