Chen Shu froze for a mont, a thoughtful look flickering in his eyes.
If he followed his heart, the obvious move was to have Xie Sunan blast Tang Lie with a little love and light.
But summoning contract spirits in the cafeteria was strictly off-limits. Breaking that rule would an crossing a line.
He let out a sigh. Looked like he'd just have to settle for beating Tang Lie the old-fashioned way...
A faint smile crossed Chen Shu's face. "Whether I'll still be tough this afternoon? Couldn't tell you. But I can guarantee you're about to stop being tough real quick!"
"What? You wanna throw hands?!"
Tang Lie's eyes narrowed, his expression perfectly composed.
Du Long and two others closed in around them. And not just them—four more boys from the Special Training Class walked over as well. They were clearly all on the sa side.
"Outnumbering , huh?"
Chen Shu laughed. He hadn't expected Tang Lie to co prepared.
Tang Lie smiled and said, "That's right. Word is you're quite the fighter yourself."
Just as the group was about to make their move—
Chen Shu struck first!
A strange grin spread across his face, and he charged straight at Tang Lie.
Tang Lie blocked instinctively with his arm, and Chen Shu practically flew backward from the contact, crashing to the ground.
"Huh? Did my body get enhanced sohow?"
Tang Lie's eyes went wide. He hadn't even used any force.
Chen Shu clutched his chest, his face twisted in pain and righteous agony, and scread at the top of his lungs: "TANG LIE! YOU DARE INSULT THE REGULAR STUDENTS!!"
"???"
Tang Lie's mind went completely blank. When the hell did I insult the regular students?
Sure, he looked down on them on a daily basis, but he was pretty sure he hadn't opened his mouth about it today.
Every regular student eating in the cafeteria froze mid-bite. In perfect unison, all their heads swiveled toward Tang Lie.
Tang Lie's heart plumted. In that instant, he understood exactly what Chen Shu was doing.
You devious son of a bitch!
Tang Lie tried to defend himself, but unfortunately for him, his voice was nowhere near as loud as Chen Shu's.
"YOU EVEN SAID REGULAR STUDENTS ARE TRASH?! FUCK IT, I'LL FIGHT YOU TO THE DEATH!"
Chen Shu leapt to his feet and hurled himself at Tang Lie again.
Sure enough, his body went "flying" several ters.
"STILL GOING?! YOU'RE STILL FUCKING SAYING IT?! I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE!"
"TODAY, EVEN IF IT KILLS , I WILL DEFEND THE HONOR OF THE REGULAR CLASS!"
"AAAHH!!"
Chen Shu bellowed again and again, his body sailing through the air over and over, looking utterly tragic and devastated.
Tang Lie and his crew stood there slack-jawed, watching Chen Shu's passionate performance.
Your goddamn acting is way too absurd...
In an instant, regular students across the entire cafeteria rose to their feet and sward toward Tang Lie.
Staring at the dozens of people now surrounding them, the eight boys from the Special Training Class were dumbfounded.
A few simple sentences and you riled up this many people?!
Seeing that things had taken a turn, Lin Xingchen from the Special Training Class reacted the fastest.
He imdiately whirled on Tang Lie and roared: "Who the hell do you think you are?! Looking down on regular students?! GET HIM!"
And he punctuated the command by throwing the first punch—right into Tang Lie's face!
Now THIS was how you started a team fight!
Even Chen Shu hadn't expected such a decisive backstabber...
Once soone took the lead, the rest was just nature taking its course. The herd ntality would always exist.
Du Long's face went pale too. He hadn't imagined things would escalate this far.
"Oh right, I forgot to get my food."
With that, Du Long executed a smooth pivot and casually strolled out of the crowd.
In the end, only Hong Ming and Wang Yun remained loyal to the bitter end, taking their beating alongside Tang Lie.
The two of them wailed pitifully: "Stop hitting us! Please, stop hitting us...!"
Chen Shu, anwhile, retired in glory. He and Xu Xingxing strolled out of the cafeteria at a leisurely pace.
Xie Sunan's face was full of admiration. "Chen Shu, you're a goddamn genius!"
Chen Shu smiled lightly. "You think this happened because of ?"
"It didn't?"
"The real reason is that Tang Lie never stopped mocking regular students on a daily basis. They never dared fight back, but the mont soone gave them an opening, the retaliation was going to be savage."
The regular students weren't idiots either. Many of them could tell Chen Shu was putting on a show—the performance was way too over the top.
This was Chen Shu, after all...
When had he ever sacrificed his own interests for the group's honor?
But whether it was real or fake, nobody cared. As long as they got to beat the living shit out of Tang Lie, that was enough.
Xu Xingxing nodded in agreent. "This is what they call 'not that it won't co—the ti just hadn't arrived!'"
The three of them headed back to the dorm and settled in for a nice, comfortable afternoon nap.
The cafeteria storm lasted a full half hour.
Even Chen Shu hadn't expected things to keep escalating the way they did.
The mont anyone heard that Tang Lie was the one getting beaten, their eyes lit up and their faces flushed with excitent.
That bastard clearly had no shortage of enemies!
---
When afternoon classes started, Chen Shu and the others arrived at the Beast Taming Arena.
Shen Wushuang scanned the classroom, a hint of confusion in his eyes. Why were three more people missing?
He pulled out the roster and was about to take attendance when the arena doors suddenly swung open.
Every student in the class turned to look—and imdiately burst out laughing.
Tang Lie sat in a wheelchair. His right leg was wrapped in bandages, and his eyes burned with towering fury.
Beside him, Wang Yun pushed the wheelchair with his right hand—his left hand was wrapped in bandages.
Hong Ming pushed from the other side—the exact opposite—using his left hand.
The three of them looked like war invalids as they rolled into the Beast Taming Arena.
Chen Shu's mouth twitched uncontrollably. "Oh my my my my! What kind of look IS that?! Pretty unique, I gotta say! Very 6 7, if you ask !" [1]
The entire class erupted in thunderous laughter.
Tang Lie's mouth twitched violently, fury surging in his chest. "You're DONE, Chen Shu! You are absolutely, completely, DONE!"
Shen Wushuang looked equally dumbfounded. They'd been perfectly fine this morning—how had they ended up looking like this by the afternoon?
"Alright, alright! Let the matches begin!"
Shen Wushuang shook his head, not dwelling on it.
Tang Lie's injuries were serious, but dical technology in this era was exceptionally advanced. Three days at most and he'd be fully healed. It was just that today, he was destined to keep the wheelchair company.
"First match: Chen Shu versus Du Long!"
The opening bout was already the main event!
The tournant had reached the Top Six—the final six competitors were Xu Xiaoyu, Wang Qinghan, Du Long, Tang Lie, Xu Xingxing, and Chen Shu.
Quite a few people turned to watch, eager to see the collision between an F-rank Sli and an A-rank Sub-dragon!
Du Long said coldly, "Looks like your luck isn't great."
Chen Shu sighed. "Little Dragon Boy, you really shouldn't butt in. The waters here run deep. Take my advice—you really can't handle this."
"Cut the crap!"
Du Long summoned his contract spirit—the A-rank Earth Sub-dragon!
A sub-dragon covered head to tail in grey scales materialized on the arena platform.
In both presence and appearance, it exuded absolute, overwhelming dominance.
That oppressive aura instantly swept across the entire arena!
Du Long let out a cold laugh. "Let see this legendary Sli of yours."
"You sure you wanna see it?"
Chen Shu raised an eyebrow, a mysterious smile playing at the corner of his mouth.
Du Long spoke up. "What, thinking about surrendering?"
And then he did sothing unexpected—he turned his back to the arena, facing the rest of the class. His expression radiated pure superiority.
"A Sli trying to compete with my Sub-dragon? That's nothing but a pipe dream. Sub-dragons of the dragon bloodline are known as the truly invincible within their rank!"
Du Long's excitent mounted with every word. He spread his arms wide and declared: "I'm not targeting anyone in particular here—!"
BOOM!
In that instant, the ground began to tremble.
Every student in the class had their jaws hanging open, their expressions frozen in stunned disbelief.
Even Shen Wushuang's pupils contracted. He murmured: "What a complete waste of precious treasure... An F-rank Sli actually comprehended the divine skill of Gigantification!"

Translator's Notes:
[1] 非常6 7 (Fēicháng liù jiā qī): A parody of CCTV's popular talent show "非常6 1" (The Amazing 6 1, hosted by Li Yong). The replaces "1" with "7" — because 6 7=13, and 13 (shísān) in Chinese internet slang is a near-homophone shorthand for 傻逼 (shǎbī, "dumbass/fool"). So "Very 6 7!" sounds like praising soone via the famous TV show while actually calling them an idiot. Chen Shu uses it to mock Tang Lie's wheelchair aesthetic.
