Chen Shu's expression shifted as he imdiately agreed to Zheng Nan's demands.
Through his previous choice, he'd already beco a Level 5 Beast Tar. Against the Level 6 Zheng Nan, victory wasn't impossible.
"But I need to find a witness, because I question your character," Chen Shu said bluntly. "If you lose and all gang up on , where would I go to complain?"
"You're questioning other people's character?"
Everyone curled their lips in disdain. This guy actually talking about character? Absolutely ridiculous!
"What if you take the chance to run away?"
Zheng Nan had finally cornered Chen Shu in the bathroom. He wouldn't let him go easily.
"? Chen Shu? I've always been upright and honorable! Why would I be that kind of person?!" Chen Shu protested with righteous indignation.
"You tell ," Zheng Nan retorted with a cold laugh.
Alright, Chen Shu admitted - without the system's choice, he definitely would have taken the opportunity to flee.

Since the sli's massive body relied entirely on brute force, a defensive talent would be a perfect fit.

Of the people he knew, Zhang Dali was just a regular guy, and the strongest in Beast Taming Class 5 was only Xia Bing - not nearly enough to keep these guys in check.
Win or lose, this gang would definitely jump him.
As a Level 7 Beast Tar, it would be easy for Xu Xiaoyu to get him out of there.
"Let's go wait at the Beast Arena."
Chen Shu walked outside with calm composure.
In the assembly hall, the principal continued his passionate speech while students dozed off below.

Xu Xiaoyu was already waiting at the Beast Arena. Chen Shu and Zhang Dali were her lifesavers, so she took any request from them seriously.

Zheng Nan remained silent, hatred still burning in his eyes. Finally, he shook his head firmly.
Xu Xiaoyu's family was powerful, but the Zheng family wasn't much weaker. Besides, Chen Shu was from an ordinary family - he couldn't possibly have deep ties with Xu Xiaoyu.
"Let's begin."
Zheng Nan stepped forward.
At the sa ti, he ntally summoned his contract spirit.
A large, green-feathered eagle, half a ter long, suddenly appeared. It shrieked continuously, its expression fierce.
"A Green Feathered Eagle?"
Xu Xiaoyu frowned nearby.
She hadn't expected Chen Shu to be facing a Level 6 Beast Tar whose contract spirit could fly.
Chen Shu was equally surprised. Zheng Yi's contract spirit was an undead skeleton, yet Zheng Nan had a Green Feathered Eagle?
Were these two actually related?
"Let see your strength!" Zheng Nan declared, his eyes full of confidence. Flying contract spirits held a natural advantage, especially against low-level Beast Tars.
Not to be outdone, Chen Shu summoned his contract spirit.
A giant golden 'turd' dropped from the sky, aiming to ambush the Green Feathered Eagle.
"Damn it, a sneak attack!"
Zheng Nan's heart jumped as he quickly ordered the eagle to dodge.
The Green Feathered Eagle was fast. With a flap of its wings, it avoided the 'poop'.
The golden sli landed solidly but didn't move at all.
"Zzz... zzz..."
The sli's eyes were tightly shut, making soft snoring sounds. It was actually still sleeping.
Everybody in the arena were stunned.
No wonder it belonged to Chen Shu. Master and spirit were truly made for each other - both completely unconventional.
Chen Shu ntally commanded the golden sli to gradually wake up, though it remained drowsy and even yawned.
"Is this really a combat-type contract spirit?"
The spectators couldn't help but wonder.
"Goo-ji, goo-ji!"
The golden sli bounced pathetically; its imnse weight barely allowed it to get off the ground. It could only taunt the Green Feathered Eagle from below, creating a ridiculous spectacle.
Chen Shu sighed. So much for the sneak attack.
Zheng Nan ordered the Green Feathered Eagle to attack. The eagle flapped its wings, its sharp talons striking out.
The sli's defense was instantly broken, clear colorless fluid flowing out - its blood.
"Goo-ji! Goo-ji!"
The sli wailed pitifully, its eyes going wide with the most pathetic, wronged expression.
The Green Feathered Eagle remained fierce, attacking again.
Though it had no special skills, its physical prowess alone was enough to crush the sli.
This was the advantage of potential ratings.
Generally speaking, higher-rated contract spirits had stronger combat power.
Chen Shu frowned slightly. The golden sli was at an absolute disadvantage against a flying contract spirit. To win, he'd need to take risks.
With a thought, he gave the sli new instructions.
The next mont, the sli began moving clumsily.
But the Green Feathered Eagle was too fast - completely dominant. Its sharp claws struck repeatedly.
With its blood pooling on the ground, the sli's already sluggish body could barely twitch as it lay completely devastated.
Chen Shu's face darkened, his fists clenched. Finally, he called out:
"Stop it! Stop fighting! I give up!"
Zheng Nan's lips curled into a vicious smile. 'Idiot,' he thought, commanding the Green Feathered Eagle to land the killing blow.
The eagle let out a sharp cry, swooping in with its talons gleaming coldly in the light.
"Chen Shu, quickly recall your contract spirit! Just saying you give up won't work!" Xu Xiaoyu called out anxiously.
Only when a contract spirit was recalled or left the arena would it count as a loss.
"Too late!"
Zheng Nan smiled. The Green Feathered Eagle was already upon the sli, unleashing its attack without rcy.
But in the next instant...
A cunning smile slowly appeared at the corner of Chen Shu's mouth.
The sli's body suddenly rocketed upward - five whole ters! - moving like so impossibly nimble sumo wrestler as it engulfed the Green Feathered Eagle.
Severely injured? What injury?!
This performance deserved a damn Oscar in the sli acting hall of fa.
