"That's it! You never told us you could jump in the air! " Ruby accused as she was holding her tray of food, I smiled at her mockingly.
"They never asked." I shrugged as I walked over to one of the free tables, Azula snorted the mont I sat down.
"Sitting in a Miyamura chair? Darkness will get jealous." Jinx scoffed.
"W-what do you an!? ? Jealous of a chair? That I should get on all fours once more and let Miyamura sit on in front of all of our classmates?! That I should eat from the floor and that my place is to crawl on the ground?! "Is that what you want?! " Darkness stamred quickly, her face completely red as she hugged herself with one hand. " mmmhh !! I-I won't allow it! " Darkness added with a groan, to my surprise, almost our entire group ignored her and imdiately followed , sitting around , followed by the rest of the group, Darkness, Yunyun, Jinx, Penny, Tanya, and Visha. Luckily it was a big table for all 10 of us to sit comfortably enough.
"We've known each other for over a year now, and you've never once shown it to , or offered to teach it to ." Taylor said accusingly as she continued her previous line, and she was right, I really wasn't one to hoard knowledge, it turns out, I like to teach.
"Actually, it was your fault." I pointed at Taylor with my chopsticks, Taylor looked surprised.
"Mine? What did I do? " Taylor asked confused, and I growled annoyed.
"You walked on your bugs." I snorted in her direction, Taylor looking even more confused.
"Yeah… and you were there when I did it for the first ti." I moaned in frustration.
"Taylor, that shouldn't work, no physics in this world works that way, insects simply shouldn't be able to support your weight!" I replied, Taylor now looked offended.
"Of course it works! It's… it's like with water, like the guerrillas , they're a family of hemiptera insects and they're able to take advantage of the surface tension of the water's surface to glide on the water. I do the sa thing with my insects," Taylor explained, and snorted loudly.
"Taylor, insects don't have surface tension," I replied, and Taylor started to open her mouth before closing it.
"So… how does what I do work?" she asked confused.
"Ha! You use a move and you don't know how to do it? " Jinx asked amused, Taylor shrugged.
"It worked months ago, it still works now, and I don't see why it won't work in the future, I never stopped to think about the chanics behind it." Taylor said simply, huffing loudly.
"Well, when you first used it, it wasn't really a problem with the three-dinsionality you had managed to use during our training, but it got wondering if there was sothing that could replicate it, so I created the Geppo."
"Moon Walk ." I looked at Tanya who was the one who muttered, her eyes were wide open.
"Exactly, it consists of kicking the air, hard enough, fast enough and several tis at the sa ti, to generate air pressure that continues to propel upwards"
"Wait is that possible? I an… you did it, but it sounds ridiculous sohow." Sinon interrupted, and Taylor, Ruby, and Azula snorted at the sa ti.
"Izumi is a monster, in a good way, his martial talent is terrifying so I'm not really surprised that he created sothing new." Taylor replied, I smiled widely at her before looking at my food, with a small touch I activated my quirk, imdiately seeing 3 plates pushed in front of . I snorted as I looked at my fiancées but still used my quirk on their als.
"Do you want to improve your als? It's free this ti," I asked mockingly, looking at the rest. The girls in our classes straightened up and imdiately placed their plates in front of . I laughed out loud, but I enriched their als without any problem. The group quickly began eating without hesitation.
"Improve... food?" Darkness asked to the side, confused.
"Food enrichnt, my quirk, I can make anything edible taste better." Explain.
"Do it, you won't regret it." Jinx said between bites, as she continued digging into her food. The three girls from class 1B brought their plates towards , and I used my quirk without hesitation.
"Wait, food quirk? You don't have a fighting quirk? " Tanya asked confused, Taylor snorted loudly as she swallowed a piece of food.
"I said he was a monster, and I ant it. He doesn't need a quirk to help him fight when he's unmatched with a sword. He created over 15 sword styles himself." Taylor explained. The three girls from 1B looked at in disbelief. Jinx whistled in amazent.
"scary, you think you could teach ?" Jinx asked amused, I paused to think about it and shrugged.
"Of course, and there's one that would look great on you, Beast Breathing." The table stopped montarily, Jinx stared at in disbelief.
"Hey, I was joking, I didn't an it , besides, swords aren't my thing." Jinx said quickly. I looked at her amused.
"Still, the offer is real, if you want to learn how to use swords, I'll teach you, Beast Breathing would suit you perfectly, it imitates beasts and wild animals, their unpredictable, fierce and wild nature, it suits you well" I said simply, Jinx seed to consider it "besides, to learn it you have to use a boar's head as a helt." I told her amusedly, Jinx stood still for a few monts.
"I'm in!" Jinx said quickly with a huge, unhinged grin.
"You have a boar head?" Ruby confused.
"Yeah, he does… I thought he left it at ho," Taylor complained as she sighed.
"I'll tell mom I sent it later or I'll co pick it up." I said excitedly, I really liked this stupid boar head, I had bought it online on the spur of the mont when I was a kid, and it was amazing, Taylor thought it was creepy and weird.
"Great! That sounds amazing! " Jinx said excitedly.
"I… I don't even know what just happened." Visha said confused.
"Unfortunately, you get used to it," Azula sighed resignedly.
"Is the Boar's Head of any use?" Penny asked confused.
"Of course I do!" I said forcefully "without the boar head the sword style loses all aning!" I added, Penny paused before nodding. I could hear Taylor snort.
Tanya shrugged before starting to eat her food, the mont she took the first bite she froze, before moving and starting to eat as if she was desperate.
"Another one who falls for Miyamura's cooking." Sinon mocked, she had already finished her al, more than one snort playfully, Visha and Darkness looked at their food carefully before tasting it, getting the sa result.
"Well, while they're busy, you-" I pointed at Taylor "-still owe answers! When did you start using Thunder Breathing! " I questioned Taylor, I didn't really mind, it was a happy surprise, I was just curious, which Taylor noticed and simply smiled proudly.
"I've been training in secret." she said proudly, Azula growled.
" Yeah ? Well, just die, that hit hurt." Azula growled, Taylor smiled widely at her making Azula roll her eyes. "What did surprise was how you got the bands, very sneaky of you." She added.
"Yeah! You owe cookies for making and my team lose! " Ruby slamd the table as she pointed her chopsticks at Taylor accusingly.
"Of course" Taylor laughed amusedly, Ruby seed satisfied with her answer.
So we spent the rest of the dinner break talking amongst ourselves, Ruby, Sinon, Penny and Jinx started talking about weapons, Tanya and Azula were in a political discussion? Visha was talking animatedly with Yunyun, while Taylor, Darkness and I were talking amongst ourselves.
We also had several conversations with each other and I got so information, like Tanya was being sponsored by Visha's family since she was little, so they practically grew up like sisters, but they are not sisters in any sense. And speaking of Tanya, she seed to be checking up on quite often, I just ignored it for the mont.
Once we finished eating, we headed back to the sand.
"SO WE'RE DONE, LET'S GO FOR THE MAIN EVENT!!"
"THE 4 TEAMS THAT MOVE ON TO THE NEXT PHASE, A TOTAL OF 16 PARTICIPANTS! AMONG THEM, WE WILL DECIDE THE WINNER OF THE TOURNANT!! "
"THEY WILL BE DIRECT ONE-ON-ONE BATTLES!"
Midnight approached the podium with a small box and looked at the 16 of us who qualified.
"We will now hold a draw to determine the combinations. So, once those are confird, we will continue with the recreational events before starting the tournant. The 16 participants can choose to sit out the recreational activities to rest and save energy.
"Then, let's start with the team that ca in first place. Team Miyamura."
He was the first one called to grab the papers, and… interesting, it really seems like so things couldn't change.
Battle 1: Izumi Miyamura, Ravel
Battle 2: Momo Yaoyorozu, Tanya Degurechaff
Battle 3: Shoko Todoroki, Toph
Battle 4: Jinx, Izuku Midoriya
Battle 5: Kyoka Jiro, Azula
Battle 6: Viktoriya Serebryakov , YunYun
Battle 7: Ochaco Uraraka, Katsumi Bakugo
Battle 8: Darkness, Taylor Hebert
What.. interesting combinations, Bakugo and Uraraka's fight had been maintained, as well as the fight against Todoroki and Midoriya in the second round, which, speaking of them... Todoroki never launched the declaration of war before the first competition... did she practice on her mother? Or in this case father? About Endeavor and the quirk marriage or whatever happened to her.
I had no idea where canon was involved in all this, but I'd keep an eye on Izuku and Todoroki just in case.
"VERY GOOD PUBLIC!! NOW LET'S LEAVE THE TOURNANT ASIDE AND FIRST... LET'S ENJOY THE RECREATIONAL EVENTS!! "
"Well, I'm going to go rest" Taylor announced as she looked at us, I nodded in her direction.
" too, I'd rather go ditating than... recreational events." Azula said with a grimace.
"I want to participate in those events!" Ruby announced happily before looking at with a puppy face. "Do you want to participate with ? Please? Please, yes? Please with a cookie on top?" Ruby begged. I rolled my eyes playfully.
"Of course Ruby, I'll join you." I happily gave in.
"YES!" Ruby exclaid happily "let's participate!" I let Ruby drag along as I waved at Taylor and Azula.
I could actually keep participating in events all day long without worrying about getting tired, so it wouldn't really bother . And making Ruby happy was the main reason for participating.
