"Well?" Ye Guang asked.
"I managed to deduce so basic data, but even with that, the people from the Manufacturing Division will probably take a while to deduce any information," Wang Wei replied.
"But we don’t have ti," the handso elder man muttered. He looked at the screen, and the situation was far from ideal. Their side keeps losing puppets, but the enemy keeps replenishing theirs."How long do we have until we run out of puppets?" Wang Wei asked.
"We can last for a while, but that’s not the issue," Ye Guang replied. Due to the [Mass Assembly] thod that the Dao Opening Sect offered, their sides have ample puppets to use. Still, the issue is that the destruction will eventually surpass their manufacturing speed. By then, they will have lost the puppet war, aning their enemy will have an overwhelming advantage against them.
"I have sothing," Qiyuan said, and all eyes shifted on him.
"Look at this," he comnted before manipulating the visual array and showing everybody a specific section of the Puppet Legion.
"What are we looking at?"
"This part of the legion is not exactly in the center, but surrounded enough that it is protected on all sides. They keep deploying their mbers, but based on my observation, the core individuals remain the sa, and unlike other groups, they never leave the group without full mbers for more than 30 seconds. Lastly, they seem to have priority repair."
"You think the core is hiding in this group?" Ye Guang asked.
"Yes," Qiyuan nodded. The Puppet Legion is divided into millions of groups working together as one. After observing and analyzing every group closely, this particular one appears to be the only anomalous group with unique behavior patterns.
"It would make more sense that the [Core] is our tiline, and since they wouldn’t want to make it obvious that one puppet was unique, the best approach is to hide it in plain sight."
"For now, that is," Wang Wei added. Now, these people have no base or foundation in this tiline, so they have no choice but to take this approach for their [Puppet Core], but in the future, it will be another story.
"We’ll talk about the future when it’s needed," Ye Guang said. "Before that, let’s deal with the issue at hand. What’s the order?"
"Let’s test out the Invisible Puppet Squad. However, order the Array Legion to remain on standby in case they fail. I want a direct obliteration strike on that group to instantly eliminate the core."
As soon as those words exited the Grand Strategist’s mouth, they were to be executed. A group of stealth-based puppets was deployed to infiltrate the enemy’s lines. They bypassed all the fighting and chaos, heading directly to the group that may contain the core. However, as soon as they reached within 1000 ters of their target, soone detected them.
"We got them," Ye Guang comnted. The fact that no other group had detected the Invisible Puppet except for this one was further proof of its anomaly. The Invisible Squad executed their directives. They rushed toward the enemy and blew themselves up. Their actions eliminated countless mbers of the group, but a potent shield protected the core.
Unfortunately, such an act only revealed more information about this group. The Array Legion soon received information about the shield’s strength and adjusted accordingly. An enormous magic array appeared above this dinsion before releasing a purple light that pierced through their shields and annihilated everybody in the group. The War Room waited with baited breath, and after more than a minute, they sighed in relief. The repairs stopped. While the enemy’s puppets were still better than theirs, they had the nurical advantage.
A new screen appeared next to Ye Guang. "What is it?" Qiyuan asked.
"The Divine Manufacturing Division is asking that we try to capture a few samples for their study. They also complained we shouldn’t have utterly decimated the core since they could learn sothing from its wreckage."
Qiyuan ignored the complaint. "Send a few Invisible Puppet Squads with sealing talismans to capture the samples."
The battle continued. After the first wave, the spatial portal created from the gate released a second wave of puppets, and just like the first, there was a core, which had been designated as the [Puppet Queen] by the Primordial Tiline. Wang Wei was tasked for the second ti to try divination for this wave, but the result was the sa, aning he could only gather the sa information as the previous.
Qiyuan tried the sa ans to find the queen, but the enemy changed their behavior patterns, making it a hundred tis more challenging to discover the queen. Luckily, Qiyuan, Ye Guang, and Wang Wei collaborated to sift through all the data and deduce the core’s location. But with each wave, the process becos increasingly more challenging.
On the seventh wave, soone from the War Room noticed another anomaly and shared the information with the three of them. The puppets were releasing a well-hidden frequency that was resonating with the gate. Qiyuan stopped the core searching operation to focus on this information, and after a few seconds of observation, his expression beca grave.
"What is it?" Ye Guang asked.
"Why haven’t we seen any human legions? Is it because it’s more cost-effective to use puppets?" Qiyuan asked.
"Isn’t it?"
"No, it’s because flesh and blood cannot yet descend into this tiline," Qiyuan explained.
"The puppets are gathering information on the rules of our tiline to adjust the gate to allow flesh and blood to descend?" Wang Wei asked.
"That’s right," Qiyuan nodded. "We always assud anyone could just walk to any tiline, but what if that is a privilege to us [Primordial Beings]? What if individuals from other tilines require adjustnt to the rules to navigate the Infinite Trichiliocosm?"
"Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. This could be a quality unique to the Primordial Tiline," Ye Guang said, and he was correct. For all they knew, the adjustnt was only needed for entry into this tiline.
"Regardless, this oversight has revealed our lack of understanding of the Infinite Trichiliocosm," Qiyuan said before glancing at Wang Wei. The latter’s suggestion to invade another tiline has proven to be far more accurate than people initially valued. The Divine Tiline has perfected Tiline Invasion; anwhile, the Primordial Tiline has spent most of its existence ignoring that vast aspect of the Chaos Universe.
"Once again, let’s focus on the present," Ye Guang said. "How about we use the Curse Legion to disrupt the puppet’s information flow?"
"That’s not a bad idea."
This idea soon proved to be useful. With a potent enough curse that affected causality, the puppets — including the destroyed one — stopped relaying information back to the gate. However, the Eternal Ascension World did not have much ti to celebrate. The eighth wave imdiately followed, and although smaller in quantity, all the puppets contained imnse Anti-Curse Properties, and they were designed for defense.
"These people have mastered War Puppetry Manufacturing," Wang Wei comnted. For this eighth wave, there appears to be no Puppet Queen, and the design for these puppets is bulkier. But one of them was enough to compete with at least a hundred of their puppets.
"Indeed," Qiyuan nodded.
"What will happen if they get their hands on our Mass Manufacturing thod?" Wang Wei continued.
His words made everybody pause. Just as their tiline was trying to reverse-engineer their puppet, the latter will probably do the sa. And based on their ingenuity so far, it may be a matter of ti before they succeed.
"They are still fighting a foreign war without the full support of their base and all their manufacturing capabilities," Ye Guang comnted. "As long as we absorb their Refining Dao strength faster than they do ours, we will have the advantage."
"While that’s true, we should still take so precautions," Qiyuan added. He sent an order to the Divine Manufacturing Division to devise additional thods for concealing the manufacturing process of their puppets.
"You should increase their departnt’s resources," Qiyuan suggested, and Wang Wei nodded. Unlike previous wars, professional Dao will not just be about manufacturing or creation, but also learning and adapting to new weapons or modes of fighting; it will be about deciphering the enemy’s thods and copying them, which will make the Divine Manufacturing Division even more crucial.
’During this war, all Profession Dao will most likely have a drastic improvent; there might be a small golden age for them,’ Wang Wei thought. This was good news for people like Yan Liling, Tong Ruobing, Wang Bo, and even his wife. However, it also ans a lot of pressure, as their contribution to this war will be instruntal.
The War Room tried a few ans to stop these Anti-Curse Puppets; so were successful, but the effects were not as ideal as they wished, and on the tenth wave of enemies, the gate fluctuated even more intensely. Then, four people slowly floated from the spatial gate and landed.
