’Damn it,’ Qiyuan cursed as he sensed sothing wrong. His eyes penetrated all the court’s defenses to see Wang Wei’s body lying on the ground, protected by a golden shield. An alarm warns him of the sect’s luck being activated, so he shifts his vision to their side. Finally, he raised his head to pierce through the veil between reality and the realm of fate to see the four Saint-tier powerhouses fighting. Qiyuan exhaled deeply. Nothing better happen to Wang Wei, or he’ll put the fear of God into these people from the Infinite Divine Court.
"Ergency report."
Qiyuan focused on the screens before him.
"A legion of soldiers has broken through the court’s defense in the southern part of the court. We require imdiate reinforcent."
"Ergency report: an unidentified weapon has been deployed to attack our outpost in the Source Qi Space. Preliminary analysis indicates it may be the weapon designated as ’Source Qi Corruption.’ What are your orders?"
"Ergency report: an unknown creature is attacking the protective film that the Saint placed over Heavenly Dao. Preliminary Analysis indicates that the creature possesses so Saint Essence and may be able to remove the protection. We request imdiate reinforcent."
"Ergency report: Chaos has erupted throughout the world. All the creatures previously infected by a third stage [Existence Worm] have begun an assault on all the top factions. Imdiate actions are required."
"Ergency report: a small group is attempting to bypass our blockade in the Source Qi Space. We believe their objective is to find the entrance to other Chaos Worlds and bypass the Hong Protective System."
"Ergency report: the enemy has sent reinforcents to the Piercing Heaven Military Base. We believe they are ready to break the Hong Protective System and exit the world."
"Ergency report: two powerful entities are fighting, ravaging the Eastern Sea Domain. Preliminary analysis indicates they might be Chaos Demon Gods."
"Damn it," Ye Guang cursed. He imdiately checked on the situation of the Myriad Union Clan, and as expected, many of their people had "betrayed" the clan and started attacking everybody in their presence, resulting in nurous casualties.
"We need to do sothing."
"That’s obvious," Qiyuan calmly stated. He also received news of a sudden attack in the Dao Opening Sect. Luckily, because of Wang Wei’s avatar, everybody was on high alert, allowing them to respond faster than everybody else. But even then, more than a hundred disciples have already died.
"The question is what."
"I say we deploy all our forces to stop the chaos as soon as possible," Ye Guang suggested. "That way, we can deal a terrible blow to the enemy and prevent morale from being lowered."
"No, this won’t work," Qiyuan shook his head.
"Why not?"
"All of this chaos is just a smokescreen to hide their true objective," Qiyuan calmly analysed. "Our response needs to be strategic — it needs to be focused, not dispersed."
Ye Guang frowned. "Normally, I would agree with you, but we don’t know what their objective is." Ye Guang was correct. The Infinite Divine Court’s objective could be a number of things, from escaping this world to causing chaos, to even attacking Heavenly Dao.
"That’s why we need to force their hands," Qiyuan said with squinted eyes. He waved his hand, and three screens appeared before him, revealing Yan Hai, Dugu Baitian, and Ying Zheng. "I need you to attack the Piercing Heaven Military Base and slaughter all the soldiers. Do not focus on the generals trying to stop you; just kill all the soldiers. I will grant you direct access to the World Source Pool, so you don’t have to worry about soul stamina."
"Mindless slaughter, huh?" Yan Hai uttered. "It’s been a while, but very well." The others nodded before ending the conversation. Qiyuan did not waste any ti before contacting three others: Red Dust, Absolute Beginning, and the Sword Lifting God.
"I will deploy the Containnt Battlefield, and I need you to prevent the three commanders from interfering. You will have access to the World Source Pool, and I will grant you three death tokens."
"This poor monk can finally release the wildness in his heart? What a wonderful day," Red Dust comnted with his hands clasped together.
"Did you have to put in the sa group as this bald head?"
"Ti is of the essence, so get moving," Qiyuan said, ignoring Absolute Beginning’s comnt.
"It will be done," Sword Lifting nodded before ending the projection.
"Are you sure about this?" Ye Guang asked. "The other two might be fine, but Swoft Lifting has only recently mastered his last Grand Construct."
"His defensive skills were probably the best among all the primals. Now that he’s reached the peak of A-Class, it should be enough to contain one of those three," Qiyuan explained before continuing his deploynt. He sent a few Primals to address the situation with the Source Qi Corruption Machine and the ensuing chaos in the court. Finally, he tasked the people from the Skill Path Association and Old Man Chess — people who excelled at sealings — to contain the monster attacking Heavenly Dao.
"Be prepared to mobilize at any mont," Qiyuan said to Ye Guang. In the current situation, there is no way they can sit comfortably in the court while everybody is putting their lives on the line.
"No problem, but should we do sothing about the corrupted individuals?" Ye Guang asked.
"No," Qiyuan said. Sacrifices must be made, and he also needs the enemy to believe he’s stretched thin for his upcoming counterattack. More importantly, the chaos caused by these infected individuals was good news for everybody. The longer these people hid, the greater a threat they beca. Now that they have exposed themselves, they can be dealt with.
Quyuan focused on the two screens before him. In the first, he watched the carnage of Yan Hai and her group. In a war on such a scale, top powerhouses are more crucial to victory than regular foot soldiers. So, when these three powerhouses acted without sha to target ordinary Emperors, Empyreans, and Paragons, it was a one-slaughter.
The Infinite Court sent their primals to stop them, but they acted like lowly rogues, focusing only on the weaker opponents. The worst thing is that Ying Zheng tricked the enemy into a seal, temporarily moving out of the way. More primals showed up, but the result was still the sa.
On the second screen, Qiyuan watched as mbers of the Divine Manufacturing Division started building a formation right next to the Black Dinsion. The interesting thing is that they were very blatant about their actions, almost provoking the enemy within.
Divine War Post:
"We understimated the strengths of these people," Cui Yi comnted as he watched Yan Hai’s slaughter. "Especially that woman: her attack power is truly abnormal despite only condensing one crown."
"These three have only condensed one crown, but their resilience is astonishing. They must have sothing to skip the cost," one of the strategists revealed.
"They are just shaless."
"Is this your first war? Why are you saying such a stupid and childish thing?"
"Their strategist has called our bluff," Wan Yani analyzed. "However, this is to be expected." Qiyuan’s response to the situation was perfect, but it was still within their expected outcos.
"How is Wang Wei’s situation?"
"He’s still resisting."
"That is not what I wanted to hear," Wan Yani frowned. "You understand that every second he is alive, the chances of him escaping this ordeal increase?"
"I understand, but sothing unforeseen has happened," Fate Eye explained. "He sohow has a Saint artifact to protect his soul."
"That’s not an excuse for your failure," Wan Yani reproached. "You should have expected that soone like him is protected by luck."
"It’s indeed my dereliction of duty," Fate Eye admitted. It was not entirely his fault since he was working with limited resources, but such is expected of every proper commander. War is full of the unexpected — and that’s even more true for wars against an entire tiline. So, the saying expect the unexpected is truly the core of everybody who has graduated from the Commander Academy.
"Do whatever is necessary to deal with him as soon as possible," Wan Yani warned. Although the court hasn’t said anything, just the fact that they have recently started pressuring her to make more achievents is an indication that sothing has happened, probably because of the activation of the Unification Tower. And there is no greater achievent than killing the alternate self of the Fate Lord.
"We must stop these three, and it appears that only the three of us have the strength," Wan Yani uttered as she stood. "While I’m away, continue with the plan: we must achieve at least one of our objectives. Furthermore, you need to keep an eye on the rats that have been hiding in our bases."
"Yes, commander."
Wan Yani did not waste another breath before exiting the base. As expected, their teleportation did not take them to the military base, but to this dinsion, where three people blocked their way.
