The Slaughter Ancestor noticed the changes to his [Slaughter Journal], but he did not pay it too much attention. The death of a Primordial Saint — unless truly a unique being, such as the young self of a third step Powerhouse whose future self is almost guaranteed to beco true — will not have much improvent in condensing his Dao Quintessence. However, if he could kill the second-step Barbarian opposing him, the improvent would be noticeable.

Unfortunately, while it might be easy to defeat a Saint at the sa level, killing them is a million tis more difficult. ’I won’t know until I try, right?’ A terrifying battle spirit emanated from Slaughter Ancestor. Now that they had drawn their true Saint Artifacts, the battle was about to beco serious. Before that, he had one more thing to do:

"Sovereign Dao Eyes has betrayed his tiline and surrendered to the enemy," the Slaughter Ancestor’s cold voice spread to every corner of the battlefield. "Under the military law, I have executed him. May his death be a warning to the rest of you."

A chill ran down the Primordial Saint’s spine. They were already scared by how easily the Tribunal Lord had slaughtered soone of equal status and strength to them, and now this warning seed to contain so hidden anings. After thinking about how they were half-hazardously executing the plan to test out these nodes, they understood what they needed to do. Then, out of a sense of profound fear, the morale of the Primordial Beings imdiately rose to the highest level as they increased the intensity of their attacks.

With such montum, it’s apparent that it was only a matter of ti before the Infinite Divine Court would be overwheld; they already had the number disadvantage, and now, their morale was weaker than the enemy’s. Luckily for them, one of their Tribunal Saints was a worthy commander.

Another calm, soothing, and yet authoritative voice echoed throughout Primordial Chaos: "These barbaric cultivators from the Primordial Tiline, who have no qualm about killing one of their own, wish to destroy everything the court and the Highest Sovereign have worked to build. We will not let them."

These words contain a hint of power that reminded everyone fighting of their world’s situation. The Infinite Divine Court looked bright and prosperous, but all the people understood how much effort and suffering it took for them to get there under the strict rules and limitations of Grand Dao — how much tribulation the Highest Sovereign had to survive to carve out a peaceful place from all races and sentient beings. Yet Grand Dao and the Primordial Tiline have done everything in their power to force them to conform and follow their rules.

Now, these people were no longer satisfied with using the rules and limitations to make the court bow down. Now, they directly attack strategic assets. How can they accept this? Haven’t they suffered enough? The Highest Sovereign’s words were true: for their future enlightennt, for a chance of achieving freedom, their greatest enemy is and will always be Grand Dao.

"Such a fervent belief," Karma Root Monarch comnted.

"The Highest Sovereign’s charisma is truly scary," the Primordial Heaven Sword Saint sighed. Even if all the cultivators of the Infinite Divine Court were brainwashed to be patriotic and love this man since birth, by the ti they would have beco a Primordial Saint, all that would have left is a semi-decent relationship based on repaying karma.

Saints have not entirely escaped the shackles of cause and effect; as such, these Primordial Saints should have only focused on repaying their debt to the Highest Sovereign or the court. But in this case, these people saw true reverence toward the man.

"Grand Dao’s harsh rules allow him to have a common enemy, and the Highest Sovereign also used a cohesive ideology or philosophy to bind everybody into the sa ship," Erudite Duchess analyzed.

"Wealth, thod, land, and companion," the Trinity Venerable uttered. "It’s such a common saying in the cultivation world, but the Highest Sovereign has truly embodied their core ideologies — especially companion."

How magnanimous must the Highest Sovereign be to share so many resources, ideas, and knowledge with countless individuals? He also served as their teacher and protector, and in turn, he can use these people’s minds to help him deduce his own cultivation path and other aspects that will significantly aid his journey.

"Do you think we could replicate his success?" the Karma Root Monarch asked, but the silence that followed answered this question. Despite her jovial, approachable deanor, the Karma Root Monarch knew that her true nature was cold and indifferent. She saw the universe and all lives in it as binding karmic chains, and she wished nothing more than to escape this endless web.

The Slaughter Ancestor treated all sentient beings as his hunting target. Even if he were magnanimous and shared his knowledge with the world, he would eventually succumb to his nature and slaughter them to further his Dao. Or maybe, he would eventually be hunted.

The Primordial Heaven Sword Saint proclaid himself as the source of all swordsmanship. Like his companions, he also saw all swordsn as nourishnt to further his path. If not for so accident, he would have already started reaping Swordsn by now. With such a cannibalistic mindset, how could he emulate the Highest Sovereign?

The True Dream Lord is considered a madman among his peers. His desire to turn the Chaos Universe into his own eternal dream is well known. Even if he could control his nature and try a similar path as the Highest Sovereign, eventually, people would turn on him once they discovered his goal. No, without genuine sincerity, his chances of achieving a tenth of the Infinite Court’s success would be a pipe dream.

The Trinity Venerable is the leader of a powerful Taoist Sect. With this foundation, could he follow in the Highest Sovereign’s shoes? The answer is no. He is obsessed with the number three and the perfect balance that it represents. Balance has beco a fundantal aspect of his Dao. In its endless pursuit, he has also severely restricted the developnt of his sect.

The way of balance is also a thod used by many Sovereigns, but none of them can be considered [Holy Emperors] such as the Highest Sovereign. The Emperor’s thod of balance can only be used by small-minded people who do not have absolute confidence in themselves to control and suppress the overall situation. Without that mindset, they cannot beco the next Highest Sovereign.

Of all the non-Cardinal Saints, the Erudite Duchess has the highest chance. In many ways, her path is similar to that of the Infinite Divine Court. She does not treat people as pawns. Her nature is not as destructive or glutinous. She sows seeds of karma with talented individuals and is fairly aboveboard about her approach. She’s also magnanimous, willing to give a talent such as Wu Hong a rare opportunity to condense a Dao Quintessence Prototype.

The only thing she’s missing is a heroic spirit. Unlike the Highest Sovereign, the Erudite Duchess is quiet, reserved, and does not have the ambition to rule over people. Her library — while an imnse wonder of the Chaos Universe — does not have many direct mbers, and she prefers it as such.

"Do you think the Fate Dominator also followed a similar path?" the Trinity Venerable asked.

"If the All-Heaven Fate Calamity is really his doing, he must have many people working with him," the Karma Root Monarch. "Otherwise, he would be the enemy of the entire world."

"Being the enemy of the universe seems like sothing he might do."

"True."

In all their tis they’ve perused the future, there is one title that remained constant, for that being at the end of the River of Ti: The Tyrant. Although they haven’t figured out why this title exists, it must have been granted for a reason.
