Shichen spread his hand toward Chris.
Instead of the silvery spark Chris had produced, a golden glow blossod in his palm.
He really had learned Steal; the mont Chris demonstrated it the skill had appeared on his Adventurer Card and he imdiately allocated points.
In this world it was the one ability he most wanted.
That Chris's attempt failed was natural. Even though she was a goddess who presided over Luck and her stat was maxed, Shichen's own Luck was higher—perhaps beyond the card's nuric ceiling.
Max-Luck on a card didn't an "the absolute limit"; it only ant the asurent system couldn't show anything above that mark—like a straight-A student scoring 100 on a test that only goes to 100.
Steal compares the two Luck values; his outranked hers, therefore her theft failed.
Moreover, as a "God's Body" he was immune to invasive effects in the first place.
But while testing the skill he discovered sothing extraordinary:
he could choose precisely which object on the target would be taken.
Within his sensing range every item on Chris seed selectable with a re thought—
cloak, shorts, cropped jacket, dagger, purse, breast pads… even her panties.
Apparently she wore no bra—only pads under the short top.
(He recalled the canon fact that Chris really was… modest.)
He hesitated. Should he be polite and take the dagger or wallet—or indulge his baser side and nab the pads or panties?
Any normal guy would feel the temptation—otherwise he wouldn't be normal.
Chris, seeing him stand there silent, assud he had failed too and puffed herself up.
"See? Nothing ca out, right? Perfectly normal—I failed as well. Probably so anti-magic interference in town," she said smugly, utterly convinced no one could beat her at her own skill.
Shichen couldn't take her gloating. Since this world was already absurd, why not play along? Yunyun might be startled, but she wouldn't mind too much.
"Who said I failed?" he asked with a faint smile.
"Huh? Your hand's empty…"
"But the spell effect is still active." He gestured at the soft gold glow.
"…Eh?"
Only now did Chris realize sothing was wrong. His Steal had lasted much longer than hers, and the visual effect was obviously different.
"Chris, I'm afraid I owe you an apology," Shichen said.
"W-what?"
"Gim, gim, gim~!" he sang jokingly—and completed the spell.
A warm, pliant object landed in his fist.
Chris's body went rigid.
"W-what did you take?" she asked in a trembling voice.
"Isn't it obvious?" He grinned.
"What's going on?" Darkness interjected.
Yunyun, curious, asked, "Shichen, what did you steal?"
"Want to see?" He glanced toward Chris.
"Is it sothing valuable?" Yunyun leaned closer.
"Valuable? Depends. It certainly has no use for you," Shichen said innocently.
"Right, Chris?"
Chris's gaze flicked to Yunyun's generous bust; tears welled in her eyes.
"Tell us! Show us!" Darkness clamored.
"All right—"
"Don't!!" Chris shrieked, face flaming scarlet.
"Huh?" Darkness blinked.
"Sothing wrong?" Shichen asked mildly.
"Well… i-it's… not interesting, so l-let's not show it, okay?" Chris pleaded, fawning.
"You were pretty cocky a minute ago."
"That was my mistake! I never should have teased you—please spare !"
"And your pride? Your dignity?" he needled.
"Th-those don't help a thief!" She looked like she might cry.
"Fine, I'm no devil. You really don't want it revealed?"
She nodded frantically.
"Then trade sothing for it—a fair exchange, yes?"
"No problem! Anything!"
She produced a small coin pouch with both hands.
Shichen weighed it—decent heft. "Very well. Here."
"Thank you!" She snatched it—"Darkness, turn around!"
"Eh? Why?"
"Just turn around!"
Reluctantly Darkness faced away.
"Um… Yunyun?" Chris begged.
"It's all right," Yunyun smiled kindly and turned too.
"You don't need to," Shichen said, amused. "It's only her breast pads."
"Wait—!" Chris froze, eyes blank.
"What?!" Darkness spun back, elated. "You stole Chris's pads? How did you—such depravity!"
"Shut it." Shichen glared, then extended the fist toward Chris.
Warmth still seeped through his fingers.
She reached out, shivering.
He opened his hand; two crescent-shaped silicone pads bounced into her palms.
"They're real!" Darkness gasped.
"Th-those are… breast boosters?" Yunyun mumbled, cheeks on fire.
"Not sothing you'll ever need," Shichen remarked gently.
"Mmm…" Yunyun ducked her head.
"Sh-Shichen…" Chris's voice quivered; shoulders shook.
"What now?"
"I… I never imagined you were this kind of person!" Tears brimd. "I shall make you pay! I, Chris, will be your mortal enemy!"
"Oh? Seriously?"
"You humiliated ! I'll ruin your reputation!"
"In that case I won't hold back."
He lifted his hand again. "Steal."
A second soft object appeared—a small, still-warm bundle of cloth.
"W-w-what?!" Chris clamped a hand over her shorts while thrusting the other toward him in panic. "Give it back!"
"Could it be…?" Darkness's eyes glead.
"It is indeed." Shichen slowly opened his hand to reveal a folded, lacy white panty.
"Noooooo!" Chris wailed.
