"True… In that case, Master, be ready."

Around Flam's body, a bluish-white translucent barrier in a hemispherical shape ford around her, faintly shining. This was her barrier magic.

Seeing that, Shichen softly raised a hand, and within his palm gathered a cluster of golden fla. Without hesitation, he flicked the fla lightly toward Flam.

The fla shot out as if it had a will of its own, suddenly speeding up mid-air and slamming into Flam's barrier in an instant.

She discovered she couldn't put up another barrier. However, Flam didn't feel any heat from the flas; Shichen was controlling them so they wouldn't harm her.

Flam gazed up at the golden flas encircling her. Those flas were full of a holy aura, imbued with life energy, stirring an urge to reach out and touch them—but she knew if she did, they might burn her to ash.

"Alright, take it back," Flam said to Shichen.

"Understood."

Shichen raised his palm toward the fire. Obediently, the fla converged, flowing into his palm and gradually vanishing.

"Amazing. This fla you've subdued?" Flam walked up to him, curiously peering at his palm.

Clearly, that fla had nothing to do with typical magic, more like a unique, personal ability—one might even call it a fire spirit.

"Not exactly subdued—more like I'm borrowing it," Shichen shook his head.

"Borrowing it?" Flam regarded him in puzzlent.

"Then let show you, Master." Shichen smiled, then beckoned to Frieren.

"Frieren, co here, too."

"What for?" Frieren walked over slowly.

"To let you see sothing cool." Shichen habitually ruffled her hair again.

"What does seeing sothing cool have to do with patting my head?"

"A senpai patting his kouhai's head, isn't that normal? It shows our close bond."

Frieren looked calm and expressionless. "...I almost believed you."

"Haha~ Don't worry about it." Shichen patted her head two more tis.

"You two get along so well, huh? It's been nearly a hundred days since you've t, right?" Flam gazed at them, smiling contentedly.

"Not at all. It's just that Shichen here has no sense of personal boundaries," Frieren replied flatly.

An astonishing burst of mana surged from his body, blazing heat waves radiating outward from him. Yet strangely, neither Frieren nor Flam was hard, though the wind blew their hair about.

Frieren simply watched quietly, while Flam showed open delight.

From this mana alone, from this aura… Shichen definitely could defeat the Demon King, eradicate the demon race!

"Soar to the skies—Ho-Oh!"

"It's called Ho-Oh, a legendary phoenix."

"A legend? A phoenix?"

"No worries if you don't fully grasp it. Just know I've subdued it."

"Oh."

Shichen gazed up at Ho-Oh circling in the sky, grinning in high spirits and beaming with pride. Aside from his earlier ti with Tohru in the clouds, awakening it, this was the first ti he'd properly summoned it in front of others.

It resembled a cross between a phoenix and a peacock: golden-red plumage, a yellow tail, a white abdon, green-tipped wings, a green stripe around its neck, a yellow beak, red eyes with black rings, plus a crown-like crest.

All in all, it was multicolored—indeed, it was Ho-Oh!

Originally Shichen never imagined his divine beast from the embedded "Divine Fragnt" would be a legendary Pokémon. No wonder the Fourth Primogenitor's beasts were no match. Compared to Ho-Oh, the vampire's beasts just didn't asure up.

"Master, do you want to know more?" Shichen winked.

"No, I was just thinking it's… truly beautiful." Flam again admired Ho-Oh in the sky.

"You like pretty things, Master? No wonder you enjoy making flower fields with your magic," Shichen joked.

"Why not? I am a woman, after all."

"Of course, nothing's wrong with that. Magic isn't just for battle."

"You brat." Flam laughed and reached out to ruffle his hair, treating him like a child—but rather forcefully.

"Master's ssing with now, huh?"

"Who told you to get so cocky when you gain power?" Flam scolded him playfully, knocking on his head.

"Alright, Master, can we skip this? Let's go back to teaching you Space Control Arts, yes?" Shichen quickly stepped behind Frieren as if hiding.

"Sure," Flam said with a wry smile.
