Bai Zhanji, with a look of surprise, reevaluated Li Jiujiu. He gently waved his fan, covering half of his face, with a hint of a smile in his eyes above his nose.

Ji Yinyin, however, subtly frowned.

She thought to herself, this guy claims not to like Young Master Bai, yet always enjoys showing off in front of him, drawing attention.

Really both sanctimonious and hypocritical, quite unpleasant.

Chi Wenyan expressed his gratitude to Li Jiujiu repeatedly and, seemingly sleepless for days, his eyes were bloodshot:

"Immortals, if you honor my humble abode with your presence, I should have prepared a grand banquet for you, but my wife is gravely ill. I beg you immortals to save her first?"

These words imdiately caused so faint displeasure among the young disciples of the Immortal Sect.

They traveled a thousand miles, flying on swords for several days to reach Yundu Villa. The journey was harsh, living on coarse grains and wild fruits, drinking mountain spring water.

Traveling day and night, they expected to be treated as honored guests upon reaching Yundu Villa, with a banquet well arranged for them.

But now, having just stepped into the manor, still dust-covered and weary with no tea offered, they were hastily asked to rescue soone. It was truly displeasing.

Of course, asking for tea and feasts from a re mortal was beneath them as cultivators.

Yet, feeling unhappy inside, they were naturally indifferent to Chi Wenyan’s earnest pleas.

Li Jiujiu could easily sense their indifferent attitude, feeling a bit angry inside.

She ignored their indifferent deanor, instead consoling Chi Wenyan, saying:

"Young Manor Master, do not be anxious and worried. I will follow you to see Madam. If there truly is a demon causing harm, we cultivators will surely eliminate it, ensuring your wife’s safety."

Chi Wenyan expressed profound gratitude, tears streaming down his face.

Li Jiujiu taking on this responsibility did not elicit empathy from the other disciples of the Immortal Sect.

Only her fellow sisters from the Lihe Sect agreed with her.

Wherever demons and evil spirits plague, abnormal demonic energy will follow. Should a fierce ghost cause harm, the grievance aura is especially terrifying.

The divine sense of cultivators is sharp; ever since Li Jiujiu entered this manor, she indeed sensed a faint demonic aura.

Frightening demons in this world typically fall into two categories: one exudes terrifying power, making one dread it from a distance.

The other is more terrifying, adept at disguising and concealing, and once its aura is hidden,

disguised as a human, indistinguishable from mortals, undetectable for demonic energy, these demons are even more formidable and sinister, difficult to guard against.

And such a faintly detectable demonic aura was considered not too troubling a demon.

The group of cultivators led by Bai Zhanji, upon entering the manor, were even less concerned, feeling this mission.

Unchallenging, perhaps the catch would be inexperienced little demons.

Such demon-catching rits would not even fill a stomach, making them lose motivation and wish to complete the mission and leave swiftly.

Upon entering the East Chamber, it was the sleeping quarters of Yundu Villa’s young mistress.

As they pushed open the door, a foul odor of blood and rot assaulted them, unlike a woman’s bedroom.

If not for Chi Wenyan leading the way, they would have thought they wandered into a field of decayed corpses.

Li Jiujiu slightly frowned but did not overreact.

Bai Zhanji covered his nose with a fan, brows furrowed.

The remaining disciples kept retching, with so delicate female disciples even covering their noses while lightly scolding:

"What a stench, so disgusting, the young Manor Master isn’t hiding corpses in here, is he?"

"It’s unbearable, really uncomfortable, if I had known this mission would be so distressing, I wouldn’t have taken it."

Chi Wenyan was embarrassed but had to smile apologetically because he still needed this group of cultivators to save his wife.

Li Jiujiu snorted softly, saying, "What is there to complain about? Since we accepted the mission, this is our responsibility and obligation as cultivators. We’ve been paid, what’s there to say?"

If unwilling to exorcise demons and save lives, then just leave, why stay here mocking?"

The crowd was montarily speechless.

In the cultivation world, there’s an unwritten rule.

Whether commissioned by mortals or cultivators, once paynt is received, regardless of mission success, commitnts must be honored.

If terminating a mission and breaking an agreent after receiving paynt, one’s reputation would be severely impacted and ridiculed if the word got out.

Thus, though unwilling today, having accepted the mission from Yundu Villa, regardless of the outco, a complete explanation must be provided.

No one dared risk their sect’s reputation for their whims, so even unwillingly, the mission couldn’t casually be refused.

The young mistress of Yundu Villa lay on the bed, eyes wide like copper bells, fierce gaze, the room deadly quiet, accentuating her sinister look’s discordance, a towel stuffed in her mouth, limbs chained to the bedposts.

The bed enormous, fixed to the ground, its fra forged of pure iron.

Yet even so, it creaked with her petite body’s pull, near to collapse.

Dark, filthy blood continually flowed from beneath her skirt, her swollen belly tearing the garnts, swollen beyond a ten-month pregnancy size.

At a glance, it appeared like the bloated corpse of a long-soaked giant in water.

Her face pallid as death, pupils smaller than usual, looking extrely unsettling, at tis faint cries emanating from her belly, chilling to hear.

Such an evil infant could hardly be a natural fetus.

The torn garnts and Chi Wenyan’s stunned gaze clearly indicated during his brief welco, the mistress’s belly had further enlarged.

He was shocked by his wife’s wretched state, overwheld by grief, tears flowing long.

As a fellow woman, Li Jiujiu couldn’t bear such a desperate sight, her expression stern as she hurried forward, pulling out a yellow talisman paper to brush over her belly.

The runes on the yellow paper ignited instantly into a formless fla.

The fla was crimson.

Li Jiujiu’s eyes widened slightly, "Indeed, it’s demon mischief."

Demons primarily exhibit malice, signifying fla being crimson.

Ghosts primarily exhibit grievance, signifying fla being ghastly green.

"Since it’s a demon, leave this to to handle, shall I?"

Bai Zhanji smiled slightly, volunteering.

The Bai family ancestors were demon-exorcising celestial masters, their family books recorded countless scrolls and tos on subjugating demons and pacifying spirits, rendering them slightly more adept than typical cultivators in subduing demons.

To avoid harming mortal lives, it was apt for him to suppress the demon.

He swayed his fan, suave and debonair, handso and alluring.

The snow-white fan face adorned with nothing, lacking text or painting, swung lightly, diffusing a gentle floral fragrance, strange to those present, focusing their sight, they beheld flowers blooming upon the fan, vivid colors, natural elegance, blossoming and fading epheral among the fan.

Bai Zhanji subtly moved his wrist, as a tricolored marvel flower entered the lady’s belly, vanishing unseen.

Gradually, under the nervous gaze of the crowd, a tricolored flower imprint slowly erged on the lady’s abdominal skin.

With every leisurely fan sway from Bai Zhanji, pollen-like fine dust fell, causing the floating flower imprint to expand slowly, possessing spring’s verdant force.

The lady’s demonic power noticeably weakened by threefold, her struggling subsiding more and more, her swollen belly gradually retracting to resemble a common ten-month pregnancy.

Despite the seemingly simple spell, Bai Zhanji’s forehead was sheathed in fine sweat, his countenance slightly pale and fatigued.
