Now reading: Chapter 1613 - 977: The Sword Hidden in the Bones (Part 3) from Journey to the End of the Night, a Eastern novel by North Liao.

He absorbs the skeleton into his body, and with it cos intense pain. Originally molded by netherworld fire, the bones are gradually expelled from his body, only to fuse again with his deceased skeleton.

This is undoubtedly an extrely painful process.

When Baili An fully completes the fusion, his flesh almost feels no pain, his consciousness numbed to emptiness, he collapses face down.

The Immortal Tears embedded deep in his collarbone flicker with light.

Baili An’s consciousness seems to instantly fall into a vast and cosmic space.

Amidst the black fog, with endless scarlet ground underfoot, in his haze, Baili An sees a familiar figure, resembling Ying Xiu but with a more mature face, dressed in the black and red sword robe of the Tianxi Sword Sect.

Thirteen massive swords stand slanted behind him in a completely broken manner, suspended in mid-air.

Looking at him, Baili An feels as if a mirror-inverted world suddenly appears before his eyes.

The figure reaches out a phantom hand towards him through an enormous mirror, and, as if driven by so unseen force, Baili An extends his own hand towards him.

Fingertips touch, and the soul trembles!

Baili An’s spirit platform roars with a sudden explosion, countless whispers and exclamations of voices echo relentlessly in his ears.

He notices a faint golden gleam flickering on the man’s neck, and his blood-stained lips move slightly, carrying a hint of sadness:

"This is your destiny, walk forward and change it."

Consciousness returns, the mirror shatters into countless mottled fragnts, Baili An remains collapsing face down.

Only when his consciousness reverts to reality does his cheek heavily hit the ground.

In bewildernt, Baili An sits up, feeling a trace of living warmth on his neck, sowhat scorching.

His fingers touch his neck, and the fingertips sting, yet it feels as though he’s grasping sothing.

Divine Thought infiltrates, and a mysterious light ascends from the back of his neck, transforming into a pure and tranquil blue Sword Qi in the world.

Is this... the Supre Daoqing Art?

Hidden within the bones?

The Double Green Python moves according to his will, leaps from his fingertips, intertwines, and gradually rges into a massive Green Python.

Its vertical pupil fades into a crimson eye.

With it, Sword Intent surges.

Baili An’s state of mind inexplicably undergoes a wondrous transformation.

The Supre Daoqing Sword Art, only when the Double Green Python transforms into a giant python and births red eyes, is it a true sign of entering the third level.

Yet, strangely, Baili An feels it is still inadequate, despite never touching any knowledge of the fourth level of the Supre Daoqing Sword Art.

So instinctual things seem long engraved into his bones, needing no thought or hesitation, flowing as his heart wills.

That enormous Green Python seems like an extension of his consciousness, birthing red and purple Sword Qi, majestic in its direction, then splitting into red and purple twin pythons, with myriad forms, reflecting the Supre Daoqing’s fourth level.

Still not enough!

Baili An thinks he shouldn’t stop here, his will moves again, and purple Qi cos from the east, while thunder and magma eruptions bubble beneath his feet.

The fifth level of the Supre Daoqing Sword Art!

That’s now his father’s cultivation level!

Baili An feels it’s indeed rather bizarre, overwhelmingly frightening.

He dares not continue to comprehend this feeling lingering in his heart, this ethereal Sword Intent.

He wonders what kind of unprecedented secrets he would open, if he continues down this path.

Sitting on the ground, he calms his mind, not coveting the power called ’strength’ to let his consciousness and Divine Thought recklessly grasp at that easily obtainable formidable Sword Intent.
