Chapter 524: Chapter 518: Making Waves Through Water

Amid the gentle and delicate atmosphere, a faint fragrance enters Baili An’s nose, calming his chaotic emotions montarily. In his hazy state, he seems to hear Su Jing’s words.

His voice, deep and muffled, said, “Scorpion… how did you know there was a scorpion?”

It was only after removing the cloth from his face that he saw clearly the object in the lake. How could Su Jing have known?

Su Jing’s expression subtly shifted, sensing the person in her arms slowly lifting their head to look at her.

Without any change in her expression, she quickly raised her palm, removed the cloth band from between her brows and eyes, and with a flick of her fingers, she summoned a Lotus Fire. In a silent mont, the long cloth band was consud into ashes.

Baili An looked up and t her ink-cold eyes, which were staring coldly and piercingly at him.

Baili An stiffened, feeling it was unfair, “You weren’t blindfolded!”

She had been bathing in the lake all this ti with clear vision!

Su Jing’s eyes were serene, her brows slightly furrowed, and beneath her beautiful face flowed her water-streaked dark hair. Her gaze was extrely calm as she looked into Baili An’s eyes and said, “You weren’t blindfolded either, and…”

The thin nightlight reflected in her eyes, carrying a hint of dangerous mystery, “How long do you intend to hold on to ?”

Baili An was stunned, suddenly realizing the compromising position he was in atop her. His arms tightly encircled her slim waist, the cool and smooth touch feeling like soft jade.

At that mont, his chin lightly rested against her lotus-like bosom, sinking slightly with a bit of pressure, and his wet hair falling from his shoulders long into the lake water, intertwining with her dark hair like seaweed in the waves, difficult to separate.

The scene suddenly beca shockingly intense!

Baili An felt as if struck by lightning, gasping, and then choked by his own saliva, coughing repeatedly.

This was certainly the most vivid episode in his lifeti of startling experiences.

Even more bizarre, given Su Jing’s normally untouchable and icy deanor, she didn’t imdiately strike him down the mont the event unfolded.

Despite their nurous life-saving graces, was this degree of gratitude and generosity a bit too much?

Caught off guard by her question and appearing more like he was overwheld by his base instincts taking advantage of her, Baili An, a grown man and descendant of the corpse demon Royal Family, was actually afraid of scorpions.

Who would believe that?

Even his explanation sounded feeble. Baili An had no choice but to brace himself in silence, slowly letting go of her, trying to push himself up to stand.

Just then, his foot touched a rough, sharp-edged rock, and Baili An’s eyes trembled wide, thinking he had encountered that little Silver Scorpion again.

A frightened rumble ca from his throat, his whole body’s hair stood on end, and the jade body he had yet to fully release was firmly grasped back into his arms.

Hidden beneath the lake’s surface, her pale fingers tensely tightened a fraction, and what was extrely strange was that for all of Baili An’s behaviors, Su Jing quietly endured them.

She did not burst into fury, draw her sword, nor rise to slay.

The ice-cold breath in her chest grinded against her, intermingled with the residual warmth of her skin, suppressing so undefinable discomfort.

Su Jing daring not breathe too heavily, kept her chest’s rise and fall gentle. Her slow, deep breath in the chill night air was extrely composed, “I clearly saw it earlier, that thing headed downstream.”

The two remained in a tense standoff in the water for a while longer, Baili An, hearing that the scorpion had moved away, slowly cald down.

Yet, Baili An could not comprehend how she managed to stay so composed under such awkward circumstances.

Just as he managed to get up, Baili An was about to apologize, but his eyes caught on her slender, graceful neck, more clearly and translucently white with clinging droplets.

The luminescent, sleek shoulders, delicately like butterfly wings, and icily pale skin under the moonlight had a cold halo.

The woman still lay there with her cold deanor in the lake water, her frail and thin body, like hidden jade soaked in the scant water light, serene and silent, inherently noble.

As Baili An slowly got up, she seed to subconsciously lift her hand to support his shoulder, silently urging him to get up quicker.

Baili An did not consider himself a man swayed by beauty, yet even he had to admit, the dignified and beautiful woman in the water looked untouchable at the mont, indeed possessed an alluring charm that beckoned deep fascination.

His Adam’s apple involuntarily bobbed a bit, a subconscious movent, but Su Jing saw it, her gaze oddly intense, staring as her fingertip tentatively reached out as if curious to touch.

Clearly without any seductive intent, her gesture, even sowhat lazily curious, was inexplicably stirring.

Before her fingertip could land, Baili An abruptly sensed the atmosphere’s danger, his gaze darkened deeply like the ocean, focusing on the jade-like girl in the water. He grasped her fingertip, stopping her.

Su Jing seed to also realize the impropriety of her action, her slender fingers, like a smooth fish, swiftly slipped away from his palm.

Her ear tips blushed slightly.

Silver beams penetrated the clouds and forest above, sparsely scattering, clear and splendid.

The lake appeared even more chilling.

Yet, Baili An felt a strange fire spreading from his palm; his gaze awkwardly shifted, his leg in the water gently moved, bending his knee, ready to get up.

As their bodies leaned against each other, movents inevitably touched; Baili An’s leg in the water gently brushed against her delicate calf, the cool skin like a feather stroking past, silently tickling him.

Baili An’s mouth twitched, his movent halted, and he almost froze…

It was then that Su Jing lying in the water finally reacted, her cold and clear eyes suddenly widened.

She keenly felt sothing, her heart surging ceaselessly, her lips tightly pursed, no longer able to maintain her composed and cold deanor.

Her skin quickly took on a misty pink hue, her pale face instantly flushing peach, her eyelashes lightly quivering, the corners of her eyes tinged with a slight red, looking extraordinarily enchanting and alluring like pear blossoms after an autumn rain.

The stunned Baili An, having never seen Su Jing in such a state, was completely srized, and worse yet, an uncontrollable physical response made the situation even more embarrassing.

It was as if Su Jing, having endured to her limits, finally reached the end of her rcy.

Baili An’s cheek made a crisp sound, heavily slapped, and he turned his head, then was firmly pushed away by her.

A splash of water sounded as he sat, dispirited and embarrassed, in the lake water.
