Chapter 610: Chapter 554: Co Over, Eat Fish

Ning Feiyan chuckled softly, never having held any expectations for anyone, truly unaware of what there was to regret.

Though she deed the woman naive and foolish, confronting those eyes filled with endless deathly stillness and hatred, Ning Feiyan couldn’t help but feel bewildered.

She considered herself smooth and adept in dealing with others, skilled at winning favor, beloved by those around her.

What heinous, unforgivable cri had she committed to make her own birth mother hate her so?

Mrs. Ning approached, bringing a green lamp flickering dimly, her expression grim, “Lord Wang Yi once granted a favor; if I can bring about your burial here today, he promises to keep Hong Zhuang safe. I don’t understand. Clearly, you had the opportunity to kill that child, so why show rcy?”

“It’s utterly laughable. You can’t bear to part with a re plaything ‘for harvest’, yet you speak of discarding your own sister without a second thought.”

Her agitation grew, demonic energy pulsing around her, her long hair twisting like serpents.

“She thinks of you constantly, stealing the sacred dicine for you, falling into the Death Realm, yet you refuse to fight for even a sliver of hope for her.

It’s in vain she revered you as divine, I truly regret not telling her the truth—that it was you who cruelly hard her beauty.”

Grief struck deep; tears stread unceasingly down Mrs. Ning’s face, sobbing sorrowfully: “If it weren’t for that, how could she have suffered such misery today?”

Ning Feiyan watched her mournful accusations quietly. Perhaps Mrs. Ning, with her keen eyes, spotted the severe bloodstains layered behind Ning Feiyan, or sensed her extre weakness.

Overwheld by hatred, Mrs. Ning viciously thrust the blazing lamp towards Ning Feiyan’s wounded back.

Ning Feiyan’s gaze darkened at the notice of her action, and her fingertips silently conjured a trace of Sword Qi.

Before the Sword Qi arrived, she was suddenly hugged tighter, the boy beneath her pulling her into his embrace.

In the dark shadows, she looked up to see Baili An’s eyes sharp and frosty, a dark red glint flashing within.

The crimson spear tore through the wind and pierced the burning green lamp, carrying the montum of a full day’s light.

The spear’s force unabated, it dragged the fiery remains across the vast adow, leaving a long streak of luminescence.

Mrs. Ning’s eyes widened in disbelief, staring at the youth who had effortlessly overpowered her, the very sa one who had been gravely wounded, his hand radiating a heart-thumping dark power.

She fell backward in fear and astonishnt.

The green lamp seed ordinary but was, in fact, the Yin Soul Fire sourced from the Netherworld Chief by Wang Yi, and yet it was effortlessly shattered by the young man’s spear.

Baili An looked at her calmly and said, “A plaything? Who are you referring to?”

Mrs. Ning’s lips trembled, “You… who exactly are you?”

The Sword Qi at Ning Feiyan’s fingertips faded away, her eyes returning to normal, a playful smile lifting the corners as she teased, “Where do you think you’re putting your hand?”

Baili An glanced down and replied, “Wasn’t it you who pressed against ?”

He simply stood up, sweeping Ning Feiyan into his arms, ignoring the woman, and summoned the Autumnwater Sword, taking to the skies towards Royal City.

Ning Feiyan nestled in his embrace like a sickly cat, the wind fluttering his long hair, tickling her cheeks.

She reached up to grab a strand of his hair, preventing it from waving wildly. Amidst the chaotic wind, she gazed at him with affection-filled eyes.

“Master Si Chen, may I take your recent action to an you were concerned I might get hurt?”

Baili An replied honestly, “What’s there for you to worry about? Even a demon’s advantage couldn’t claim your life; a re Soul Summoning Fire would only cause you so discomfort at most.”

Ning Feiyan’s face turned slightly cold, “So, you an to say you were actually saving that woman’s life just now?”

Baili An humd in acknowledgnt, “The Xiangsi Punishnt Sword is not easily co by, take care with it.”

Ning Feiyan scoffed mockingly, “Who was it that just now made no sense? Clearly, she is nothing to you, what does her life or death have to do with you? Your eagerness to intervene on her behalf would lead so to believe you had taken a fancy to my mother.”

Baili An’s mouth twitched slightly as he looked down with an odd expression, “I wasn’t aware that Ning Miss, who is prone to nonsensical words, could actually be reasonable. Even at my worst, I would not fancy a woman old enough to be my mother.”

Ning Feiyan laughed scornfully, “If it’s just age we’re talking about, I could be a mother too, yet Master Si Chen, you still…”

Perhaps truly annoyed at Baili An’s ddling, the usually cautious Ning Feiyan didn’t think before speaking, letting the words slip carelessly.

Halting mid-sentence, she abruptly caught herself, changing in expression, biting down hard to suppress the remainder of her thought.

Baili An’s probing gaze seed to linger on her changing face, his voice softly teasing as he asked, “I wasn’t… what?”

Not quite knowing what it was that reminded her, but Ning Feiyan’s face flushed with a slight redness at the tip of her petite nose, turning her cheek away, her voice barely audible as she huffed, “Just now, you were touching my behind.”

Baili An withdrew his gaze, looking towards the distant night, lost in thought, and finally said, “A sword aid at a loved one is the most potent weapon in this world, bound to leave scars whether it harms others or oneself. Killing her would only grant temporary satisfaction, but truthfully, you don’t want to kill her, do you?”

Ning Feiyan stared at his chin, dazed. The human heart is like a vast, deep sea of red dust and turmoil, yet she had not imagined he could see through her thoughts so clearly.
