Chapter 667: 584 chapters:

In the early, gray dawn beyond the distant mountains, dazzling stars arrived as tributes.

The appointed place was inside a secluded and quiet teahouse within Mo City’s Royal City.

Ning Feiyan’s gaze shifted away from a modest bun shop and approached the stone lion at the teahouse entrance together with Baili An.

At that mont, the teahouse was cold and deserted; only a private room on the second floor had its lights bright, evidently having been waiting in silence for a long ti.

Ascending the stairs, Baili An and Ning Feiyan approached the anteroom, where the light doors were wide open.

Mrs. Ning sat quietly inside, having already prepared a table full of sumptuous food and drink.

Seeing the two arrive, Mrs. Ning spread her skirts gracefully as she stood up, her face had reined in the spiteful and crazed expressions from the previous night, now looking sowhat dignified and composed:

“Your humble servant has been awaiting your arrival for a long ti, please, my lords, take a seat.”

She appeared respectful and well-mannered, seemingly having forgotten the dark sches of the previous night.

Both mother and daughter were born actors; Ning Feiyan’s expression remained unchanged, slightly lifting the corners of her lips in a cool manner, she spoke, “Madam, you flatter us.”

After finishing, she pretended to be affectionate by grabbing Baili An’s hand, joining him in taking their seats.

Baili An raised an eyebrow but said nothing more.

Mrs. Ning’s lowered eyelids narrowed deeply, a glint of profound coldness flashing through, but it was quickly concealed and invisible.

Once seated, a faint sound of chains rubbing and moving echoed from sowhere within the room.

The table was covered with delicacies ticulously prepared by the inn’s chef, but Baili An could not sll the various flavors of the Mortal World; instead, he caught a strong scent of blood amid the fragrant steam of the food.

His gaze fell on a frail figure slowly erging from a corner shadow.

It was a woman of indeterminate age, dressed in a ragged short robe that left her arms exposed, dirty and unkempt as if she had not bathed in a long ti.

Besides the putrid sll of festering wounds, there was also an unpleasant sour stench emanating from her body.

Her hair was unkempt, her face blotched with black and purple, a collar with a chain around her neck, restrained by an Array.

Perhaps attracted by the sll of the food, she crawled out from behind a screen, her body covered in scars, using her limbs to move.

Yet, the look in her eyes as she gazed upon people was not one of fear, but rather resembled a starving beast erging from a gutter, filled with longing and desire.

Her eyes fixed on the delicacies on the table, she kept swallowing, with much saliva continually dripping from her mouth.

Baili An couldn’t help but glance at Mrs. Ning.

This certainly did not look like the attitude of soone seeking a favor.

Indeed, Ning Feiyan expressed a revulsion, her eyebrows furrowing as she spoke, “After all these years, you still maintain your disgusting taste.”

Mrs. Ning picked up a roasted goose with her chopsticks and threw it beside the woman’s hand, her gaze coldly sweeping over her, “Go back, now is not the ti for you to co out.”

The filthy woman grabbed the roasted goose, devouring it ravenously as if starved, not even sparing the bones, then licked her fingers insatiably before retreating back into the shadows.

Baili An’s brow furrowed deeply, and for so reason, the woman’s aura made him vaguely uncomfortable. He then glanced sideways at Ning Feiyan and asked, “Her aura…is very strange.”

Ning Feiyan replied indifferently, “She is a filth demon born on the corpse of an Enchanting Demon in the Beiyuan Forest, the spiritual beings floating like dust in the forest originally had no self-consciousness, but after absorbing the essence from the Enchanting Demon’s body, they beca sentient beings known as filth demons.”

“Filth demons are considered impure and unclean by Beiyuan, even the most evil sorcerers in the Demon World reject them.

Wherever filth demons tread, epidemics arise. The Beiyuan Forest can hardly tolerate such beings, but Mrs. Ning insists on keeping these filthy creatures to curry favor with Erhe Zangxin; even today’s banquet has not forgotten to keep this creature by her side, truly a gesture full of sincerity.”

Ning Feiyan sneered lowly, “If that’s the case, why not just directly plead with the gracious River Lord Erhe to rescue Hong Zhuang?”

Mrs. Ning personally ladled a spoonful of fish soup into her bowl, her voice calm, betraying no emotion, “A re beast cannot possibly request the great Lord Zangxin to take action to save my Hong Zhuang.”

“But it’s different with Lord Shouhe,” Mrs. Ning’s gaze lifted as she scooped another spoonful of fish soup for Baili An, her eyes holding a hint of ambiguous depths:

“That night, my humble self saw how Lord steadfastly stayed by my daughter during the Night Tamalane dream, revealing your affections clearly. I take the liberty of hoping that the Lord might generously save my other daughter.”

She got straight to the point right from the start.

Baili An actually did not dislike this straightforward approach.

After all, his visit today was rely a matter of one sentence; he was about to inform her that Hong Zhuang was likely unhurt by now, but before he could speak, a warmth suddenly covered the back of his hand.

He looked up in surprise, eting Mrs. Ning’s enticing eyes.

Those eyes, completely ignoring Ning Feiyan, stared straight at Baili An, her face flushed as she said,

“Your humble servant knows well the graces of the Demon Lord are not easily earned, to ask the Lord to gratuitously save my daughter is indeed greedy. Yet, since Lord has graciously co to our appointnt today, obviously there is room for negotiation on this matter. If Lord could save Hong Zhuang’s life, your servant is willing to serve you, to be a slave and maid all her life, henceforth without a second heart.”
