"Good! Very good!" the Female Demon Lord said with a chilling smile, nodding her head. The molten flow in her eyes grew more intense, filled with hatred and resentnt, as if she wanted to devour soone, "Since Si Chen, the River Lord, would rather destroy the Netherworld Palace with his own hands than live there, you should go to the dungeon to calm down. When you’ve thought it over, I will let you out."

Even a wolf that seed as docile as a cat eventually shed its disguise to reveal its terrifyingly true fangs.

She had exhausted her patience and had wasted too much ti on him.

Even if ti were reversed and life and death switched places, the soul under that disguise remained stubborn and obstinate, inciting loathing without ever changing.

...

...

Chao Mu Hall, the bloodbathed cold pool, and crimson covered the ground.

Bang!

A pair of hands violently pushed open the outer courtyard’s grand doors.

Accompanied by frantic, heavy panting and disarrayed, panicked footsteps, a blood-soaked Manxie youth stumbled into Chao Mu Hall.

Chilling pursuit sounds followed him.

Like a wounded beast driven to the brink, the eyes of the blood-stained Manxie youth were filled with despair.

A strong will to survive forced him to bear extre pain in his bones as he rushed towards what could be either a path to life or death.

The Demon Generals pursuing him arrived outside Chao Mu Hall, seemingly hesitant, not rushing in imdiately.

After all, Chao Mu Hall was the residence of Ning Feiyan, one of the Four Rivers of the Demon World, and in the Demon World, it was an unspoken rule not to enter another’s hall without the River Lord’s permission.

Moreover, Ning Feiyan’s known principle of not entertaining guests also gave these Demon Generals pause, making them hesitate to proceed.

Hearing the sounds of pursuit gradually fade, hope seed to ignite in the heart of the Manxie youth.

Suppressing the surging ecstasy in his heart, he took deep breaths to recover for a mont. Only then did he realize that during his escape, an arrow had penetrated deeply into the left side of his chest from behind.

Fortunately, the arrow was not poisoned, but it had grooves carved into it, causing his blood to drain wildly; pausing for just this short mont, his hands, feet, and lips had all grown cold.

The Manxie youth gritted his teeth and rushed into one of the palace chambers, praying to find so dicinal herbs for treatnt.

He had never anticipated that there would be soone inside this chaotic chamber.

So when he entered and saw the woman in white, cleaning her Longsword with a cotton cloth by the window, his face turned pale, and he lifted the Manxie blade in his hand with fierce, wary eyes, releasing a cold murderous intent.

The woman in white wiped off the blood from the Qingfeng Cold Sword bit by bit, casually throwing the used cotton cloth into a copper basin filled with clear water.

The blood slowly blossod into a red flower on the water surface.

She glanced lightly at the youth.

eting her icy gaze, the hand of the Manxie youth holding the blade couldn’t help but tremble violently. Only then did he notice the countless Manxie warrior’s bodies lying across the unlit grand hall.

Even though he had witnessed countless brutal sacrifices and deaths of his kin on the battlefield, seeing this scene still inevitably stirred a trace of hatred in his eyes.

But after the hatred, fear gradually enveloped his heart, and he broke into a cold sweat.

The bodies lying in the hall were his seniors, relatives, elder brothers.

Each and every one of them was stronger than him, with higher cultivation.

Yet all of them together couldn’t match her; for him, there was only a path to death here.

Realizing this, the Manxie youth’s body turned icy, his limbs so stiff he dared not even flex his fingers.

He didn’t want to die, but the dignity of a warrior did not allow him to surrender or beg for rcy from the enemy.

At that mont, the sound of a sword blade scraping against its sheath echoed in the deathly silent hall.

The Manxie youth’s pupils trembled, seeing the woman, even in her murderous aura looking as if she was washed with jade and ink, sheathed her sword, then sat down crossing her legs, closed her eyes, and rested, seemingly oblivious to his presence.

Seeing this, the Manxie youth’s tension dissolved, realizing he had regained his life. Not daring to linger in the hall, he sheathed his Manxie blade, fearing she might change her mind, and turned to leave without hesitation.

Just then, delayed by that mont, the outside pursuers, as if under a final command, no longer hesitated, surging in with great montum.

The Manxie youth clenched his teeth; his Manxie blade could no longer protect him and would only burden his severely wounded body during escape.

He snapped his blade in two and threw it into a pool, then fled into a bamboo forest.

Under the night, the bamboo forest created confusions, the bamboo leaves wilted, and a blood moon hung high, casting the forest in a sorrowful crimson light, devoid of any signs of life.

The entire forest was terribly silent, as if it had isolated all the chaotic slashing noises of the outside world.

Listening to the cold sounds of pursuit behind him, his anxious heart beca even more unsettled as he stepped into this quiet world; his heartbeat wildly.

His whole body was chillingly silent, and a gust of wind made his sweat-cold body horrifyingly cold.

Seizing what little ti he had, the Manxie youth saw that the forest was laid with a maze. In his current state, he was definitely unable to escape, so perhaps it was divine rcy that led him to a densely wild and hidden cave.

This cave was extrely concealed, sheltered from light, and hiding in it, if luck was on his side, it wasn’t impossible to escape tonight’s pursuit.

Soon, the pursuers arrived, chopping through the bamboo forest to search and kill.

"Miss, we’re ordered to pursue the rebel. Have you seen a Manxie rebel enter this forest?" a Demon General’s voice ca from outside, causing the Manxie youth’s breath to tighten.
