Chapter 881: Chapter 677: Twin Pearls (Part 2)
Those exquisitely delicate eyes, even the cold iron of the world could not help but be etched with heavy marks.
Gu Changjing seed to be captivated by that gaze, stunned and unable to co back to his senses for a long ti.
When he finally reacted, a faintly sweet and bloody scent swept gently over him. He opened his eyes wide, looking at the elegant Ning Feiyan in front of him. She slightly tilted her head down and, with her fair fingertips, took off the bright red gemstone pendant beside her ear, raising her hand to hang it between the iron spear’s edge.
The crimson gemstone reflected the cold iron-gray spear, casting an enchanting sinister beauty in the deep night.
She offered a smile and said, “Old Master Gu, this Evergreen Spear has been under your gaze for so many years. Its rustic and crude appearance inevitably seems a bit monotonous and dull. This gem is temporarily lent to you, giving your vision a touch of aesthetics, which is great.”
Gu Changjing stared dumbfounded at his Evergreen Spear, his hand holding the spear seed uncertain as he rubbed the shaft. He hesitated for a mont, and the monotone coldness in his eyes was illuminated by the fiery red luster of the beautiful Treasure Bead.
He raised his left hand, seemingly preparing to touch that beautiful, enchanting bead.
“Old Master Gu.” Ning Feiyan’s voice suddenly made his fingers stiffen and stop.
Gu Changjing looked at Ning Feiyan’s radiant and charming face, and for so reason, he actually dared not touch sothing so pretty. His hand faltered, and Ning Feiyan smiled contentedly: “The prettier sothing is, the more dangerous and poisonous it can be. It’s best not to touch it.”
Her smile resembled that of a fem fatale, beautiful and dangerous, yet irresistibly drawing people close.
Gu Changjing seed to understand sothing, he pursed his lips and said nothing more.
She said it was lent, so there would be a day of return for this bead.
The day of return…
Gu Changjing watched Ning Feiyan’s figure gradually walking away into the depths of the forest, watching her touch her bare earlobe with her fingers for so reason, his heart moved along.
He had known her for seven hundred years, and the last eting was thirteen years ago.
Back then, two gems were hung from her ears.
He knew what those two gems signified; every ti the pendant was taken off her ear, it ant she was setting up a trap, inviting soone into the array.
Once the killing was over, she would rehang those two gems on her ears, brushing her ears with a light laugh, leaving no traces of murder, beautiful beyond asure.
Double gems dangling from her ears, inseparable on both sides.
But when did she start wearing only one gemstone?
Deep forest, shallow sky.
A tattered-clothed fox-eared lady stumbles out fearfully from the dark jungle.
Her figure is small and youthful, seemingly only around seven or eight years old, walking unstably, with a fluffy soft big tail swaying behind her, looking just like a glutinous rice ball running around from afar.
From the darkness behind, wolf howls and roars could be heard, she scread in fright as her foot was cut by a sharp stone, causing her to stumble and fall face down.
The fox-eared lady was not fully down before she began to cry and scramble, trying to grab hold of sothing to steady herself.
The lucky fox-eared lady ended up hugging sothing even softer with her small arms.
“Let go.” A faint voice ca from above.
The fox-eared lady opened her eyes in shock, raising her head.
Under the thin forest moonlight was a face of seductive yet aloof beauty, with a fair face partially shrouded by flowing dark hair. From the fox-eared lady’s angle, only her long eyelashes and the delicate bridge of her nose and chin were visible.
“Roar… Roar…”
A rotten scent blew through the leaves, dozens of corpse-like Demon Wolves with gleaming green eyes, drooling corpse saliva, swinging their long scarlet tongues, moving with a sinister, hungry gaze.
“Ah!!!” The fox-eared lady cried out in terror, her small face showing fear as she ignored Ning Feiyan’s words and clung to her leg, burying her blood-stained face deeply into her leg.
Ning Feiyan’s eyes showed a trace of impatience, she raised her hand and unleashed several Wind Blades, the dozen Demon Wolves did not even have ti to whimper before their corpses flew apart, scattering as a pile of bloody flesh amidst the weeds.
The fox demon always had a keen sense of sll, and perhaps she detected the sudden inordinate stench of decay and blood in the air, causing the fox-eared lady’s shoulders to tremble. She lifted her eyes in fright, peeking at the bloody and horrifying scene before her, exclaiming again in disbelief.
Ning Feiyan twitched her leg but found that little thing clinging like Tuanzi to her leg, her features turned cold: “How long do you intend to cling to my leg?”
The fox-eared lady trembled violently, realizing she might have encountered soone extraordinary, quickly letting go and kneeling on the ground, looking up timidly at her.
Ning Feiyan typically had no sympathy or affection for such weak little creatures, she didn’t even bother to spare them a look, stepping forward without hesitation.
The fox-eared lady stared at her back dumbly, said nothing, and patted the dirt off herself, quietly rising and limping along after her.
It was uncertain how long she followed when Ning Feiyan suddenly turned around, squinting her eyes at her: “Are you courting death?”
The fox-eared lady shook her head vigorously, tears welling in her eyes.
Ning Feiyan chuckled coldly and said, “Beiyuan Forest is the territory of the Enchanting Demon. You, a little demon clan, dare to trespass here, have you lived too long already?”
