Now reading: Chapter 19: No Man Dislikes Women Unless from Jujutsu Kaisen: Naoya Zenin Wants to Live!, a Action novel by PinkSnake2.

"Mai, is that awful guy really your cousin? He makes so mad!"

About a day earlier, after Naoya Zenin's speech ended.

The students of Kyoto Jujutsu High had reacted very badly to this teacher who had suddenly dropped in out of nowhere.

Especially Kasumi Miwa, who had been humiliated in public.

Sure, Kasumi Miwa really was not especially capable, and she really was not cut out to be a Jujutsu Sorcerer. She usually did not mind too much when people called her useless Miwa.

But this was a first!

From the perspective of being a woman!!

She had been cursed out right to her face!!!

No matter what, even if she was useless, she was still a lovable good girl, the kind everyone adored, right?!

This was the first ti Kasumi Miwa had ever run into soone who disliked her this much!

"Mai's personality is pretty weird too, but a gross jerk like your cousin who looks down on won. I seriously want to sneak over there and whack him with a broom."

Perched on her broom, Momo Nishimiya wore a thoroughly annoyed expression.

And the obvious truth was this.

Pretty much all the girls at Kyoto Jujutsu High had a huge problem with Naoya Zenin.

No matter how handso he was, paired with a mouth like that, any good impression vanished on the spot.

"...He's been like that since the day he was born."

Mai only turned her head aside and answered coldly.

That response left Kasumi Miwa and Momo Nishimiya at a loss.

They had assud Mai Zenin would seize the chance to vent, start complaining bitterly, and tell them a few stories about how lawless her cousin had been since childhood.

Then the three of them could talk behind Naoya Zenin's back together and really tear into that male chauvinist.

But instead, Mai looked like she wanted to end the subject imdiately.

After all, she rarely talked to her classmates at school about the grievances she had suffered within the clan.

Much less about Naoya Zenin, the one who had cast a shadow over her childhood.

Although Mai Zenin had left the Zenin Clan and entered Kyoto Jujutsu High to study there, she was not like her sister Maki. Maki had actively broken away from the Zenin Clan and chosen to go all the way to Tokyo to study.

Mai, on the other hand, had only ended up being sent to Kyoto Jujutsu High because Maki dragged her into it.

She did not want to beco a Jujutsu Sorcerer at all.

Mai did not have the courage her sister had. Even if it ant staying in the Zenin Clan and continuing to serve as a maid, she would rather have gone on being ordered around.

So she had never dared share those thoughts buried in her heart with her friends.

Because Naoya Zenin was, nominally, the master she was supposed to serve.

If she said it out loud, it would definitely shock her friends, and it might even stir up unnecessary trouble.

And a miserable past like that was completely at odds with the cool, aloof image Mai usually maintained at school.

If people realized that she was an untouchable icy beauty at school, but back at ho was only a maid who had to kneel on the floor and bow her head, they would only start laughing at her too.

So at school, the girl had never wanted to discuss anything about her family at all.

But now that Naoya Zenin had co to Jujutsu High, sooner or later that cousin of hers would expose the fact that she had once been his servant.

That alone...was enough to fill her with overwhelming dread.

"...Though Naoya Zenin does speak in an incredibly arrogant way."

Noritoshi Kamo had been silent for a long ti before finally speaking with grave seriousness.

"But he said sothing interesting. I think that if so-called modern Jujutsu were truly accepted, it would bring about a massive transformation in the future of the Jujutsu World. It might even make the existence of the Three Great Families unnecessary."

As the next heir of one of the Three Great Families himself, Noritoshi Kamo had never thought about anything like that in his daily life.

After all, he was one of the beneficiaries of the old system of ancient Jujutsu, so naturally he had never made a point of considering such things.

And yet Naoya Zenin, despite holding the sa status, was able to describe a vision of the future with a perspective far beyond the current age. That alone made Noritoshi Kamo feel a little more respect for him.

"Tch. Figures. Guys always stick up for other guys."

"Exactly."

But that thoughtful comnt only earned him synchronized scorn from Kasumi Miwa and Momo Nishimiya.

"chamaru, what do you think of Mai's cousin?"

chamaru froze.

Naoya Zenin's public humiliation of Kasumi Miwa had certainly made him furious.

But...

In Naoya Zenin's words, chamaru was practically the perfect embodint of modern Jujutsu.

The [Puppet Manipulation] he possessed was an ancient technique with a very long history.

Every Jujutsu Sorcerer in history who had possessed [Puppet Manipulation] had focused their research on Cursed Corpses. In other words, they used numbers, creating as many controllable puppets as possible to overwhelm the enemy.

But chamaru was completely different.

He believed it was better to focus on quality rather than quantity.

And besides, why did puppets have to be wooden dolls?

Why could they not take inspiration from modern technology and build an enormous ch, like the Transforrs in movies?

And yet such a reckless approach would inevitably draw criticism from the Jujutsu World. It might even be branded by the Jujutsu higher-ups as a desecration of [Puppet Manipulation], proof that chamaru fundantally did not understand what the ancestors had left behind.

So all this ti, chamaru had been secretly stockpiling Cursed Energy and covertly building a Cursed Corpse called [Ultimate chamaru. Absolute Form Unit 0].

Unexpectedly, this thod of using Jujutsu, which had always been treated as outright heresy, happened to line up perfectly with Naoya Zenin's way of thinking.

Modern Jujutsu...

Was it not exactly the sa as what he was doing now?

But even though he had already accepted Naoya Zenin's ideas in his heart, the fact that Naoya had publicly humiliated Kasumi Miwa still made chamaru want to tear that arrogant man limb from limb.

So instead of answering directly, he turned to the bare-chested man beside him, who was busy training, and asked, "Todo, what do you think?"

"Hmph."

Aoi Todo rely let out a cold snort.

"Ridiculous! There is no man who does not like won!"

"All I have to do is ask him what kind of woman he likes when I go to his class, and I'll have my answer."

Aoi Todo's remark plunged everyone into silence.

As expected of Todo-senpai, the senpai everyone found irritating. His talent for picking fights was absolutely first-rate.

And so, the next day.

Everyone sat down full of anticipation, eagerly waiting for Naoya Zenin to appear.

Half of them were there for the spectacle, wanting to see whether Aoi Todo and Naoya Zenin would actually end up fighting.

The other half were there out of pure curiosity, wanting to confirm whether Naoya Zenin really had any substance at all.

Author's Note - PS: About the number of students at Jujutsu High.

So readers have said there are too many students, and that the original work did not have this many.

My original thought was that Kyoto, as a sacred center of Jujutsu, would definitely have more students than Tokyo.

On top of that, the original work said not every student can graduate and beco a Jujutsu Sorcerer. The sorcerer qualification is fairly hard to obtain, so there would definitely be a lot of students who end up becoming support staff instead.

If you really go strictly by the original setting, Kyoto and Tokyo combined would only have four or five students per year at absolute most. Even with a one hundred percent graduation rate, that would only add five new Jujutsu Sorcerers per year.

Then based on the activity span of Yuji Itadori in the sequel, even if one sorcerer could keep working for sixty-eight years before retiring.

68 × 5 = 340 people.

Then add self-taught sorcerers and Curse Users from civilian circles. There is no way they would outnumber the people trained by Jujutsu High, so I cut that in half and call it 160.

In other words, the total number of active sorcerers in the Jujutsu World would not exceed 500.

And as everyone knows, the casualty rate for Jujutsu Sorcerers is extrely high. They were down to almost nobody just from fighting Sukuna.

So let's be generous and assu a fifty percent casualty rate.

Without even counting people changing careers, that would an the entire Jujutsu World probably has fewer than 250 people actually working, and that is under the assumption that every student graduates perfectly.

With that tiny number of people, they not only have to deal with Cursed Spirits across all of Japan on a daily basis, but also carry out all kinds of political struggles, plus deal with noble houses and constant infighting inside great clans...

There are so things I do not want to say too bluntly, but a lot of the settings JJK cos up with really are just nonsense.

In Bleach next door, the Gotei 13 alone has two or three thousand Shinigami. If Jujutsu Sorcerers only number a little over a hundred, then what they should be attending right now is Cursed Spirit High.

I do not want Gojo to die from overwork.

So in this book, I have reimagined Jujutsu High as an actual normal school.

A Jujutsu High should look like a Jujutsu High!

So the Jujutsu High in this book can be imagined as an elite school like Hogwarts or Cassell College.

Since this is fanfiction, I will do my best to patch up so of the setting holes I personally think exist. If similar issues co up again later, please just treat them as part of the fan-created adaptation, and do not stir up unnecessary argunts over small details like these.

Thank you all for understanding.
