In the Jujutsu World, there is an unwritten rule that every practitioner must follow.
Only another sorcerer may kill a sorcerer.
Whether they are Jujutsu Sorcerers who exorcise curses or Curse Users who walk crooked paths, even if the two sides are locked in a furious, bloodshot struggle, they still have to preserve the secrecy of Jujutsu. In other words, Mortals must never co into contact with the Jujutsu World.
There have been many cases in the Jujutsu World where Curse Users paid Mortal assassins to kill rival Jujutsu Sorcerers.
Jujutsu Sorcerers are by no ans all-powerful.
Most of them are still flesh-and-blood humans in the end, so how could they possibly stand up to the guns and cannons of modern civilization?
But the conclusion was not that the tis had changed.
Without exception, any Jujutsu Sorcerer killed by a Mortal would degenerate into a Cursed Spirit.
Cursed Energy itself cos from the negative emotions overflowing from Mortals. If a sorcerer dies to an attack unrelated to Jujutsu, then the remaining Cursed Energy inside their corpse will completely run wild, turning them into an inhuman monster that will begin ravaging the Jujutsu World.
And so, over ti, the Jujutsu World ca to place great importance on how the bodies of sorcerers were handled, especially those of powerful sorcerers.
Suguru Geto was a Special Grade Practitioner to begin with, and on top of that, his [Cursed Spirit Manipulation] had devoured a vast number of Cursed Spirits. The residual Cursed Energy left in his body was already enormous beyond imagination.
Although he died at Satoru Gojo's hands, the usual practice in the Jujutsu World would be to cremate a powerful Special Grade Practitioner like him, just to be safe.
Of course, that was only under normal circumstances.
Because Suguru Geto possessed the once-in-a-thousand-years [Cursed Spirit Manipulation], his corpse had imnse anatomical value.
[Cursed Spirit Manipulation] could completely change the way Jujutsu Sorcerers exorcised curses. Faced with a technique this outrageous, there was no need to say more. Any sorcerer would want to study [Cursed Spirit Manipulation]. It was like slicing up Einstein's brain. Every sorcerer wished they could chop Suguru Geto's corpse into pieces and pull it out for study whenever they had nothing better to do.
As a transmigrator who knew the plot inside and out, Naoya Zenin had long since realized that although Satoru Gojo usually sounded like he was talking nonsense and gave off the air of a social terrorist, deep down he was still a traditional noble.
He cared a great deal about burial. Visiting the grave on the anniversary of death, offering incense, chanting Amitabha at the graveside, even doing so ritualistic mumbo jumbo. All of that was perfectly normal.
So although Satoru Gojo had killed Suguru Geto, he still rembered their old friendship and could not bear to see Suguru Geto's remains defiled. In the end, he secretly chose to bury the body himself, so that he could visit and pay respects to his close friend in the future.
Afterward, Suguru Geto's corpse was secretly stolen by Kenjaku with a shovel. Then, through the [Brain Transplant Cursed Technique], he seized Suguru Geto's body, finally taking the single most crucial step in the thousand-year plan he had been plotting.
But Naoya Zenin was different.
What he had inside him now was the soul of a modern civilized person.
After all, setting off firecrackers during tomb visits can easily spark a wildfire.
Burial also wasted land resources. Those were backward customs that should have been discarded long ago.
So this transmigrator decided to leave Satoru Gojo an urn instead.
In other words, as long as Suguru Geto was successfully cremated, then Jujutsu Kaisen would have to be renad Jujutsu Kaisen: Next Ti, We'll Fight Again.
"...Suguru Geto's corpse?"
Naobito Zenin's brow twitched.
As the current head of the Zenin Clan, and the strongest Grade 1 Sorcerer recognized by the Jujutsu World, he naturally understood what his son was getting at.
Innate Techniques are engraved into the flesh from the mont a person is born.
Suguru Geto was dead, but [Cursed Spirit Manipulation] was still engraved onto his corpse.
There had never been a precedent in the Jujutsu World for copying an Innate Technique, but that did not an it would be impossible in the future.
If the Zenin Clan could seize Suguru Geto's corpse and be the first to unravel the secrets of [Cursed Spirit Manipulation], then reclaiming the top spot among the Three Great Families would be as easy as drinking water.
Still, openly desecrating a corpse like this was a little hard to make look respectable...
The old man stroked his chin and glanced aside, only to find that the other big figures of Kyoto's Jujutsu World at the eting had all changed expression after hearing Naoya Zenin's proposal and had already begun discussing it in private.
Among them, the head of the Kamo Clan was especially shaken.
He stared fixedly at Naoya Zenin's carefree face, as though he had never imagined anyone would dare bring up sothing so outrageous.
Indeed.
Naobito Zenin understood that feeling very well.
After all, as mbers of the lofty Three Great Families, old n like them still cared about their dignity. At their age, they had already started thinking about the reputation they would leave behind.
How could they be like these younger ones, each one itching to make achievents and rise to fa in the Jujutsu World?
And Naoya was young and arrogant to begin with. When he brought this up, was there even a trace of sha on his face?
What a shaless brat.
How did I end up with a son this shaless?
Really now, isn't he basically a copy of when I was young?
"Ahem..."
Naobito Zenin coughed a few tis, quieting the discussion around him.
"Although Suguru Geto was from Tokyo, his status is sensitive. And Satoru Gojo's ties to him really are rather ambiguous. As the sacred ground of Jujutsu, and as a fair third party, we in Kyoto do have a responsibility to supervise their actions."
"I think... it really would be best if we handled Suguru Geto's corpse ourselves, along with the large number of Cursed Spirits he left behind."
The mont Naobito Zenin made the call, the people around him imdiately voiced their approval.
"I think the Zenin Clan Head made an excellent point. If Suguru Geto had been born in Kyoto and trained in Jujutsu at the school here from childhood, I doubt he would have fallen into the wrong path at all!"
"Everyone knows what the people from Kanto are like. Too many of them are cold and lacking in human warmth. Even the way they use Jujutsu is far more frightening than the sorcerers here."
"Heh, Tokyo people even dump sushi straight onto the table to eat it. What kind of manners can you expect from out-of-town sorcerers?"
Naoya Zenin's proposal was quickly approved in full by the eting.
Kyoto had always looked down on Tokyo sorcerers to begin with, seeing itself as the sacred land of Jujutsu.
And in recent years, Tokyo had only grown more and more prosperous. Satoru Gojo had even gone there to beco a teacher, and just like that, the center of developnt in the Jujutsu World had tilted entirely toward Tokyo.
So when it ca to taking possession of Suguru Geto's corpse, along with that enormous stockpile of Cursed Spirits, the old Kyoto sorcerers supported it with both hands and feet.
The transmigrator quietly let out a long sigh of relief.
He really had not expected things to go this smoothly.
It seed that even if Naoya Zenin was a complete scumbag, it was hard to argue with the fact that he had been born well. This Kyoto young master really was sothing else.
As everyone drifted into more and more regional trash talk, the eting ended in a burst of laughter and cheerful chatter.
Naoya Zenin did not stay any longer than necessary.
After all, judging by the original owner's personality, there was no way he would stick around bowing and scraping to these Kyoto big shots, desperately trying to make himself seen and curry favor.
This transmigrator still had plenty to do next.
After all, as a villain with not many days left to live, if he dared relax for even a mont, then losing his head would beco a very real possibility.
Dealing with Suguru Geto's corpse had only been a side errand.
What Naoya Zenin needed to think about now was how to deal with the next Toji, so that his cousin might show rcy later on and spare his life.
Just as the transmigrator was leaving the venue against the flow of the crowd, weighed down with thoughts, he failed to notice that soone in the sea of people had suddenly stopped, turned, and fixed their gaze on the departing Naoya Zenin. A cold killing intent crept toward the back of his neck.
"Naoya Zenin... is it?"
The man's lips curled slightly, but beneath his bangs was a hideous stitch line.
"I had thought you were nothing special. Who would have guessed you were hiding your sharpness behind a dull edge all along? As expected of the Zenin Clan's next head. Satoru Gojo's excessive arrogance nearly made overlook you. I'd almost forgotten that you're soone from the sa era as Gojo too."
Kenjaku tapped his hollow forehead with a finger and revealed a sowhat helpless smile.
"Hm... this makes things a little troubleso. If I can't get Suguru Geto's body, then a lot of things can't be done."
"But that is exactly what makes living so endlessly interesting."
"If even outstanding people like you have to struggle forward step by step, then how could small fry like us possibly expect a smooth life all the way through?"
After giving Naoya Zenin one last long look, Kenjaku slipped back into the crowd and disappeared with the flow.
