"Ready yourself, Six Eyes."
Kashimo tightened his grip on the staff. The purple markings at the corners of his eyes flickered with a faint, jagged light, as if sothing liquid were flowing through them. His cursed energy beca more violent, the scent of ozone thick in the air as the forest itself seed to tremble.
Arashi frowned and raised his hand.
"Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue"
The mont the word left his lips, the air twisted into a violent knot. A massive suction force exploded from Arashi's palm, tearing at the surrounding trees. Trunks groaned under the invisible pressure before splintering into fragnts. Soil and stone were dragged into the vacuum.
Kashimo wasn't caught in it.
He had already begun to move. He vaulted off his staff, his silhouette blurring into a series of flickering afterimages under the moon. His path was jagged and unpredictable, shifting from left to right to prevent the vacuum from locking onto his position.
Arashi's gaze followed him, the Six Eyes capturing every frantic micro-adjustnt. It was too fast, and there was no rhythm to it.
Suddenly, Kashimo flicked his wrist. He threw the erald staff directly at Arashi.
Again?
Arashi's pupils narrowed as his eyes instinctively tracked the flying weapon. He saw it, the exact mont Kashimo's silhouette vanished from the grass. An instant later, a fist appeared in his vision.
"What!"
Arashi's eyes widened. The punch was already landing. Just as before, the hand was coated in a vibrating layer of energy. The Domain Amplification was still active. The Infinity barrier was neutralized on contact, and the fist slamd directly into Arashi's face.
The impact was heavy. Arashi's head snapped back, and a spray of blood erupted from his nose, staining his white robes.
Kashimo didn't give him a second to breathe. He followed with a second punch, hitting the sa spot with identical force. The Infinity barrier offered no resistance.
Arashi's consciousness wavered for a fraction of a second. Two hits.
Kashimo pulled back and landed lightly on the grass. He watched the white-haired man stumble, his lips curling into a satisfied grin. Every physical contact allowed Kashimo to inject a negative charge into his opponent. Three touches would be enough to pri the internal explosion. This was the foundation of his strength. This was why he was the strongest.
Arashi felt a surge of cold fury. He was the head of the Gojo clan, yet he was being toyed with by so naless brat who had erged from the shadows of the provinces. Two hits had landed. Absolute hits. His defense, his pride, had failed.
He raised his hand again.
"Cursed Technique Amplification…"
Cursed energy flooded the clearing as the air warped once more. This wasn't a probe. It was a kill shot.
"Maximum Output..."
The suction force tripled in intensity, far more violent than before. Trees were uprooted and the ground itself disintegrated, a torrent of debris rushing toward Arashi's palm. Kashimo tried to circle away again, but his eyes widened.
Arashi wasn't at the center of the vacuum.
The white-haired man had disengaged from the core of the suction, using the vacuum's pull to launch himself directly at Kashimo.
"Switching to an offensive?" Kashimo squinted.
One more hit. He just needed one more negative charge.
Arashi's fist was already there. Kashimo raised his arms to block, their silhouettes clashing in the moonlight. The exchange was a blur of heavy, muffled impacts. But at the mont they were closest, Arashi raised his other hand.
"…Blue."
It was a point-blank burst. Kashimo felt a massive force slam into his side, throwing him through the air. He crashed through a series of branches before hitting a massive oak tree. The trunk shuddered under the impact, sending a shower of dead leaves over him.
Arashi stood in the clearing, breathing heavily as he stared at the spot where Kashimo had fallen. He wiped a hand across his bloody nose, his expression dark and lethal.
Then his eyes changed.
Kashimo had kicked off the tree trunk, launching himself back into the clearing like an arrow from a bow. He was smiling, the purple markings on his face glowing bright.
"You're still not there yet."
The erald staff ca down with the weight of a thunderbolt. Arashi raised his arms to block, but the force was staggering. His knees buckled and the ground beneath his feet shattered. He stumbled back, his balance broken.
Before he could steady himself, Arashi triggered another burst. "Blue."
Kashimo was caught again, the suction dragging him off the ground and hurling him into a nearby boulder. The rock fractured into a web of cracks as he hit, sending a cloud of dust into the air.
Arashi stood his ground, gasping for air. His nose was still bleeding, his stomach was a ss of pain from the earlier punch, and his face was beginning to swell. He didn't care. He watched the dust through his Six Eyes.
Kashimo was getting up.
"It's full," Kashimo's voice drifted out of the dust, sounding almost pleased.
He stepped out of the rubble, patting the dust from his dirtied robes. His hair was a ss and his clothes were torn, but his eyes were bright. He looked like a man who had just won a prize.
Arashi's brow furrowed. Kashimo was tougher than anything he'd ever faced. That last burst of Blue had been point-blank; a normal sorcerer would have been broken in half. Yet he was standing there, dismissing the damage as if it were nothing.
And his technique. Arashi's eyes scanned Kashimo's fra, looking for the trace of an innate technique. There was nothing. The man was fighting with nothing but raw energy and physical skill.
Why? Was he holding back, or was he waiting for sothing?
They stared at each other across the clearing. Kashimo rolled his shoulders, his joints popping in the silence. Arashi raised his hand once more, the energy beginning to condense for a final, maximum-output strike.
Kashimo's voice reached him first.
"I think we're done here."
Arashi stopped. It wasn't the words that gave him pause. It was what he saw.
Between him and Kashimo, a series of thin, blue lines had appeared. They were as fine as silk, humming with the sound of a thousand bees. One end was anchored to his own chest, the other to the smiling man across from him.
When had he—
A soft sound, like a finger-snap, echoed through the woods.
Arashi looked down. His chest had exploded.
It wasn't a simple injury; his entire chest had been torn apart. Flesh, bone, and heart were vaporized into a crimson mist. Through the massive, gaping hole in his torso, the moonlight illuminated the trees behind him.
"…!"
He tried to speak, but only blood filled his mouth. His blue eyes were wide, staring in total disbelief at the hollow space where his heart should have been. He looked up at the man with the pale hair.
Kashimo watched him with a blank expression.
"That's the problem with n like you," Kashimo said, his voice quiet. "You've never had to be in a real fight."
Arashi swayed. He was still standing, the Six Eyes refusing to dim. He looked at Kashimo, his life pouring out of the hole in his chest.
Kashimo raised the erald staff and leveled it at Arashi's head.
"Go to sleep."
He brought the staff down.
A dull thud echoed through the night. Arashi's body finally collapsed into the mud, his white hair soaking in the red. The blue eyes stared up at the moon, but the light behind them was gone.
Arashi Gojo was dead.
