Now reading: Chapter 180: Flipping the Table, Killing Wu Cang from Just a Useful Pawn in the Stain Sect, a Eastern novel by Crane guards.

For so reason, Wu Cang suddenly felt a chill.

It was as if a basin of cold water had been poured over his heart, scattering all his anxiety and forcing a sliver of clarity to shine through his once-dusty Spirit Platform:

"Huh? Why did I co here?"

In that instant, the Spiritual Sense of a Foundation-Stage Cultivator scread a warning. Wu Cang subconsciously glanced around. ’Could it be that my nightti robbery has been discovered?’

Even now, Wu Cang hadn’t realized the threat Lü Yang posed. He still thought soone had rely discovered his movents. While this was partly because Lü Yang had used Embracing Mountain to conceal his Cause and Effect Qi chanism, making him difficult to detect, wasn’t it also because Wu Cang’s own Qi had been influenced?

’I should take this as a warning...’

Lü Yang took it all in, muttering to himself. His ability to learn from his mistakes was a crucial reason he had made it this far.

For instance, he had long since decided to give Monks a wide berth from now on.

The reason was simple: Monks were just too shaless.

Every single one of them was an extension of the Bhagavat. At the slightest disagreent, a Master of Dao would possess them. It was like a max-level demon king camping the Newbie Village and slaughtering everyone!

It was absolutely insane.

If the Cento’s Position wasn’t high enough that even a Master of Dao could only vaguely sense it without truly affecting it, he would have died ten thousand tis over by now.

However, drawing on his experiences from previous lives, Lü Yang quickly figured out a way to avoid the Bhagavat’s gaze. The Previous Life wasn’t the first ti he had self-detonated and activated the Cento in front of a Monk. In his Last Last Life, when he blew up a Lay Line to trap Arhat Fulong, he had used the Cento as well!

So why hadn’t the Bhagavat appeared in his Last Last Life?

’...Because of the heavenly punishnt!’

Lü Yang mulled it over and concluded this was the only possibility. Under the heavenly punishnt, all of Arhat Fulong’s rit and Fortune had been completely wiped clean.

That was why the Bhagavat hadn’t descended or noticed anything.

From this, he could see that the bizarre possession technique must be achieved through rit and Fortune. This was the flaw in how the Bhagavat controlled the Monks.

And where there was a flaw, there was a Solution.

’If I can fully understand the secret behind this and find a way to evade the Bhagavat’s influence on my consciousness, a trip to the Pure Land in the future might not be out of the question...’

Unfortunately, this was just a pleasant daydream about the future, still a distant prospect.

Pulling his thoughts back to the present, Lü Yang looked at Wu Cang again.

Wu Cang now wore an impatient expression. Although he vaguely sensed sothing was wrong, his first thought wasn’t to flee.

It was to end this quickly.

"Since you won’t be reasonable, Daoist, don’t bla for what happens next!"

As his voice fell, a colossal, gnarled tree that seed to touch the heavens suddenly materialized in the sky. It was the materialization of Wu Cang’s Dao Foundation.

Within its canopy, a Vermilion Fruit instantly sprouted.

Seeing this, a confident smile appeared on Wu Cang’s face.

This Wood Fire was the most powerful Mysterious Divine Power within his Innate Ability. Paired with his Innate Divine Technique, No Rushing South, it was unstoppable when burning a Dharma Body.

The next second, however, his eyes went wide.

Faced with the Wood Fire cast upon him, Lü Yang remained unhurried. A dark light rose from behind him and swept towards Wu Cang’s Dao Foundation.

WHOOSH—!

In the next instant, the fierce flas Wu Cang had just ignited were like a candle in a gale—extinguished with a deafening gust in the blink of an eye. All his Abilities ca to an abrupt halt!

Embracing Mountain!

Having fought Wu Cang before, how could Lü Yang possibly give him room to use his techniques again? He imdiately unleashed the Innate Divine Technique he had just perfected.

The effect was remarkable. Wu Cang’s Coiling Dragon Divine Wood Dao Foundation trembled violently. An imposing mountain shadow had appeared above it—ethereal and intangible, yet generating a very real suppressive force that snuffed out his Wood Fire!

"...Impossible!"

Wu Cang cried out in shock. He felt as if Mount Tai was crashing down on him. To break free, he would need either his own Mysterious Divine Power or an imnse Great Magical Power.

But he had neither.

In a flash, Wu Cang was finally jolted back to his senses. He imdiately turned to flee, only to see a Divine Power Radiance envelop the area.

Separation!

This Divine Effect could move oneself, but it could also move enemies. If his Wood Fire hadn’t been suppressed, he could have used its divine flas to break through the effect. But with the Wood Fire extinguished, eighty percent of his techniques were useless, leaving him completely helpless against Lü Yang’s teleportation!

At the sa ti, Lü Yang held a gourd in his hand.

The Soul-Devouring Gourd!

Lü Yang uncorked the stopper, channeled his Mana, and gave the gourd a gentle shake. A hazy, chaotic smoke instantly poured out.

The Soul-Devouring Smoke!

This smoke was potent, but extrely difficult to land a hit with, making it an awkward tool for Combat. In Lü Yang’s hands, however, it produced a miraculous effect.

The next second, a Divine Power Radiance flashed.

Wu Cang, suspended in the air, was unable to dodge. He could only watch helplessly as he vanished from his spot, reappearing monts later, having been tossed by Lü Yang right into the hazy smoke...

"You...! Fight head-on if you have the guts!"

Wu Cang’s resentful shout ca from within the smoke. Even at this stage, Lü Yang still showed no intention of fighting him head-on.

He had started with hard crowd control, giving him absolutely no chance to turn the tables.

Soon, however, Wu Cang’s voice grew fainter. The Soul-Devouring Smoke was taking effect, making his consciousness grow increasingly dim.

But he knew that if he truly passed out, he would likely never wake up again. This realization made him unusually decisive. A crimson glint flashed in his eyes, and three dazzling Spirit Lights appeared in his hand—three Lower Grade Spiritual Treasures of decent quality.

"...Explode!"

As soone who had started as a Loose Cultivator, Wu Cang might not have been sly or cunning enough, but to have established a foothold in the Stain Sect, there was one thing he didn’t lack.

He was ruthless!

In an instant, the three Spiritual Treasures exploded in his hand. The blast wave instantly tore through the Divine-Seizing Smoke and blasted open an escape route for him.

RUMBLE!

Riding the Spirit Tide kicked up by the explosion, Wu Cang’s figure shot out like a bolt of lightning. He summoned a Flying Light to escape Heaven nding Peak, hoping to be a bird free in the vast sky, a fish in the boundless sea.

The power of the Spiritual Treasure explosion also ripped through the concealing Array around Heaven nding Peak. The violent surge of Spiritual Qi drew the gazes of many Foundation-Stage Cultivators within the Stain Sect.

These were all Wu Cang’s talismans for protection.

’After all, no matter how vicious this Lü Yang is, he wouldn’t dare kill in front of so many people, right?’

Little did he know that Lü Yang had foreseen his every move. The Prophetic Orrery between Lü Yang’s brows was already spinning, having long since calculated this exact reaction.

"Embrace the One and guard the Center, enabling Differentiation."

Suddenly, a Daoist proclamation rang in Wu Cang’s ears, its chilling tone making his scalp tingle. The churning Spirit Tide abruptly froze!

He blinked, and where was the boundless sea and sky? He had been focused on escaping Heaven nding Peak, the clear Cyan Heaven and bright day filling his vision. But in that blink, the Cyan Heaven and bright day had transford into a black mountain wall. His Flying Light was already at full speed, and he couldn’t stop in ti...

BANG!

With a trendous crash, Wu Cang, under the watchful eyes of all, slamd headfirst into the Materialization of Embracing Mountain and was instantly pulverized!

From within the shattered Dharma Body, a Soul drifted out.

"You beast..."

Wu Cang was so furious his very Soul trembled. He was about to speak when Lü Yang grabbed him.

"Senior Wu Cang, you just lost to in Combat, is that a reason to give up on life? This junior will protect your Soul now."

Before he finished speaking, Lü Yang viciously stuffed him into the Myriad-Soul Banner.

After doing all this, Lü Yang turned to the crowd—so shocked, so horrified, all staring blankly at him—and gave them a friendly smile:

"Everyone, please don’t misunderstand. You all saw it. Senior Wu Cang couldn’t get over his loss and chose to end his own life, actively crashing himself to death on my Ability."
