Liao Ying played another video, showing Bai Kou leading the Municipal Governnt’s players to handle the aftermath. In the footage, her body is already stained with patches of blood; her expression is very cold. She is rciless towards players defined as criminals, regardless of their gender or age. At the ti, she was using a transparent flying knife, often beheading her target before they even realized she was there.

The video seed to be nearing the end of the incident; players from external districts causing chaos in the city had almost disappeared. The Municipal Governnt’s players were responsible for handling the aftermath, and people from the governnt also dared to chase outside to hold others accountable.

"You don’t have the authority to promise that the city’s losses will be covered by the Municipal Governnt, and besides, you’re not with the Municipal Governnt, so you have no right to decide on this matter. The Municipal Governnt will definitely file a complaint to the end!"

The staff mber was too agitated, thrusting his portable Collection of Information Terminal at Bai Kou’s face while shouting, "Do you know how much the losses are today? The finance departnt of the Municipal Governnt will go bankrupt..."

Before he could finish talking, he was shot dead by a player rushing over from afar.

Bai Kou, who had seen soone aiming at him long ago, did not even blink. After the person fell, she took the terminal and connected with the city hall, saying, "If the finance departnt goes bankrupt, use your family assets to make up for it. If you can’t even produce this amount of money, it proves you’re not qualified to work for the city hall."

The screen then went dark amidst the shaking, and Liao Ying closed the terminal while still feeling stirred, "Every ti I see these things, I can’t help but feel excited."

"Miss Kou Kou is indeed an admirable person," Zhao Jicheng said, his face relaxing.

Everyone was imrsed in Bai Kou’s heroic deanor, but then an untily voice broke the silence: "Did the city hall end up compensating?"

Liao Ying and the others turned to look at Xu Huo, whose expression was calm with not even a hint of emotion. After two breaths of silence, Xin Rong finally said, "Because the central jamr wasn’t activated, the losses weren’t as large as estimated. Everyone who went to the city hall for registration received compensation."

Xu Huo smiled, then why did that city hall staff mber have to chase outside to find trouble?

"Seeking justice and getting justice." He paused and said, "The final result is considered a win-win."

"Not exactly a win-win," Liao Wei said. "The player who shot and killed the city hall staff was exiled for manslaughter, never to return to the Eye of Platinum."

Of course, this was just a minor episode in the aftermath of that event.

Although it is unclear how the situation evolved later, one can see from people like Xin Rong that Bai Kou’s iron-fisted actions gained support from many passionate young people.

The gathering ended at dawn. Afterward, the slightly tipsy Xin Rong specifically arranged for soone to take Xu Huo ho, mocking him for not being able to hold his liquor.

Soaked in alcohol, Xu Huo lay in the back seat of the aircraft and was assisted out when they arrived at the Eternal Star Hotel.

Following Xin Rong’s instructions, he was sent directly to his room. The helper poured a glass of water by the bedside and left. On the way out, he happened to run into a plain-looking man entering the neighboring room. The player habitually glanced at the man before turning and entering the elevator.

Xu Huo slept for two hours before stumbling into the bathroom.

His drunken deanor vanished as he closed the door. Turning on the terminal, he looked up so details from six years ago, focusing on parts that Xin Rong and others hadn’t ntioned.

The incident wasn’t an external invasion. The artifact maker who incited the unrest wasn’t persuaded by anyone to betray the Eye of Platinum. Instead, he accidentally discovered that the weapons company he worked for was using living people for weapon experints in the external districts.

Due to the environnt in the Eye of Platinum, many artifact makers developed weapons purely out of passion or as a profession. They largely remained unaware of the brutal nature of war and didn’t partake in arms trading. They generally believed, "Weapons are ant to resist foreign enemies, not to invade or slaughter innocents." During a system repair, the conscientious artifact maker discovered his company’s weapon experints, which shattered his worldview. He later learned through other channels that not just one company in the Eye of Platinum was involved in such activities. Gathering evidence, he intended to report to the Municipal Governnt.

He first uploaded the evidence to the Municipal Governnt’s public terminal, but before he could receive a reply, he was attacked. A smart robot saved him. While in hiding, he realized the Municipal Governnt hadn’t taken any action and, thus, understood they were aware. His identity information was locked, his terminal was no longer usable, and the evidence he saved was destroyed. With his beliefs shattered, he altered the instructions of a batch of smart robots to attack the companies involved in weapon experints.

His original intention was rely capturing the involved people to make the affair public. However, so sinister individuals took advantage of the chaos to attack the Eye of Platinum. The ones he wanted to capture retreated to a safe house under player protection, and the smart robots dispatched by the Municipal Governnt began interfering with the rebel robots... Just as the situation was becoming irreversible, Bai Kou intervened to stop the deterioration. Her report on the number of deaths made that artifact maker feel guilty enough to shut down the robots.

The aftermath was similar to what Xin Rong and others ntioned. Bai Kou led the Municipal Governnt’s players to wrap things up. After a period of power struggle, the key figures from the weapon companies that the artifact maker exposed had their assets confiscated and were exiled from District 002. The companies involved not only lost their industries in the Eye of Platinum but also had their experintal zones in the external districts taken over by the Municipal Governnt. Simultaneously, a large number of internal mbers were removed from the Municipal Governnt, resulting in a small-scale restructuring.

From then on, Bai Kou officially entered the decision-making layer of the Eye of Platinum. Many political activities had her figure behind them. Moreover, she is now one of the mbers of the command center and has the authority to intervene in any action related to the security of the Eye of Platinum—placing her at the core of power.

"The ultimate result of any struggle is power." The person next door was about to lose patience. Xu Huo turned off the terminal, returned to the room, and collapsed back onto the bed.

He slept until dawn. After freshening up and changing into clean clothes, Xu Huo had breakfast and strolled around before heading back to the chanical Castle.

Bai Kou had just woken up, half-squinting her eyes as she ate breakfast in the small garden.

Xu Huo was led to the small garden by the player who escorted him out yesterday.

"Have you eaten?" Bai Kou asked casually, "If not, have so."

Xu Huo thanked her for her kind offer and sat down beside her, "No rush, take your ti."

Bai Kou squeezed jam onto a slice of bread and said absentmindedly, "You’ve recovered quickly. It seems you’ve found He Pu’s items quite handy."

What He Pu left behind was sothing they both knew about, but it could only be used by those who had perfectly evolved from the start. Bai Kou had no use for it.

"Do you want to keep a piece as a nto?" Xu Huo asked.
