’I am currently being dragged by my pseudosentient left hand towards an unknown destination in the middle of a warzone, and I think all of my active kaijin are fighting like there’s no tomorrow...so I’d say the ti is so-so at worst.’
’Have to be.’
’Great...wait, actually...that could help. Help a lot actually.’
’Logos, can you confirm sothing for ?’
=Yes, milord?=
’Precisely, how does Dragon Force affect kaijin?’
...anwhile...
a recording of Pathos’s voice played once everyone had off-boarded the giant spider.
"When did they install echo stones in the library?"
"Not sure."
"Wait...I think I rember sothing about Pathos mumbling sothing about...the parks."
"The fuck is a the park?"*2
"I don’t know..."
At this point in ti, Jin Fang, Jinju Ren and Cornelius were all standing in the loading area where Zhen Liu’s gates would open. They would normally be in the other side of these gates alongside Zhen Liu, so this was an interesting change of pace.
That stated, they couldn’t help but get a little bored about having to wait around for Zhen Liu to open the gate. Luckily, they were in a library.
"Hmm...y’all think we got ti to read one of these books or nah?," Jinju Ren asked after looking over her sword and sheathing it.
"Depends. What’s the closest shelf to us?," Jin Fang followed up.
This, in turn, prompted Cornelius to go and check.
"It appears to be related to...botany, bonsais and...bongs?"
"That’s a lot of ’B’ related topics."
"What’s a bong?"
Regardless, the books near the loading bays were questionably boring, and they couldn’t exactly leave the area in case Zhen Liu needed their assistance, ASAP.
Luckily, Logos and Pathos heard their pleas...sort of.
As soon as the trio of mortal warriors were about to settle into just zoning out due to boredom, Logos made a brief announcent.
=Due to the unusual nature of what you’ll be teleporting into, Pathos and I found it prudent to provide you three with a briefing about Undertow. It shouldn’t take too long to read, and should give you a comprehensive overview about everything going on.=
Shortly after making this announcent, a zako made of tal and glass appeared from behind a shelf with a tray containing three booklets for the three of them to read.
"When did Xiao Liu make this one?"
"I think they’re a part of the library."
"Makes sense."
"Anyways, let’s see what these booklets contain...huh."
Evidently, none of them were expecting that the first sentence in the briefing would read, "Undertow is currently under attack".
"Well...that explains the delays..."
"If he needs up getting killed, I’ll bring him back so I can kill him again."

A Brief History of Undertow, the Storm Queen and the Storm Knights.
By Logos and Pathos.
For whatever reason, about a hundred or so years into the Pearl Scale Emperor’s rule, he decided he wanted to conquer the world. However, doing so required uniting all of Roaring Tide first which was much easier said than done.
The Pearl Scale Emperor may have been a dragon and had the cultivation of an Aether Overlord, the problem was that there were several other Aether Overlords in the area that could put up a challenge.
The Black Marsh King.
The Hundred Eyed Witch.
The Drunken Abbot.
These were just a handful of nas that could put up a fight and win against him.
So in, an unexpected move, he decided to make an alliance with the Floating Khan, a ruthless warlord with an army fad for its calvary tactics.
With his help, the Pearl Scale Emperor conquered territory after territory, kingdom after kingdom, enslaving swaths of people, especially the Aquarum.
Eventually though, the two would-be conquerors made the mistake of attacking a small fishing village in the middle of nowhere, and kicking up a storm that would drastically change the world.
...
Jin Miavora.
That was the na of a little girl who, through sheer coincidence, ended up becoming the Kaijin Lord of the era known as the Tidal Conflict.
Her first kaijin, Tortallion, would serve as her shield as she went on a journey to, not only cultivate, but to establish a safe haven away from the sches of the Pearl Scale Emperor and the Floating Khan.
On her journey, she ended up going up and down the entirety of Roaring Tide, fighting everything from vicious beasts to bandits to Imperial forces. As a result of this journey, she learned how to master the spear, inherited a lost World class aether art, and of course, create even more kaijin.
After befriending a tattoo artist who would beco known as the "Inker who Painted the World", she would create Krakelios, a tricky squid kaijin with a perchance for graffiti.
When she t three brothers who laid their life down fighting impossible odds for the sake of their holand, she gave them another chance as the Fang Brothers, a trio of shark kaijin who fought harder and fiercer than even the fad berserkers of the Dozing Salamander Continent.
After coming across an island village that would’ve been swallowed by a tsunami, she empowered the statue of their local deity to create Grand Blue, a gentle giant who blew away that wave with a single punch.
With these six in tow, Miavora tore through Roaring Tide like a storm, hence her later title of Storm Queen.
Eventually, she ended up finding an entrance to the [Abyssal Lands] and found the only spot of land down there that was relatively safe...after evicting the forr residential pirates.
After that, she established Undertow as a ans of keeping refugees safe from retaliation, and with the rise of a kingdom, she created the rest of her knights.
When she t a boy who wanted to outrun the wind, Marlancer was born. That child would grow up to be the founder of the Lighting Pavilion in the Soaring Griffon continent.
When a strange building from another world landed on top of one of the entrance to Undertow, she was inspired to create dusina and Shockheel. A pair of beguiling kaijin who wielded poison and lighting in dazzling ways.
Needing to create a pair of guardians for Undertow, she used the protective desire she acquired from a pair of parents to create Viceshell and Clobstar. Hard of shell, but soft of heart, the crustacean kaijin were able to endure any attack and could deliver twice as much punishnt in response.
Last, but certainly not least, she created Puffer. A blowfish kaijin who served not only as much needed long range support, but a tactical mind as well.
With her roster complete, Miavora managed to deal blow after devastating blow against the Pearl Scale Empire and the Floating Khan, until culminating in a duel against the Pearl Scale Emperor himself.
The battle was long and fierce, but the Storm Queen managed to win in a rather decisive manner: jamming her spear through his head and taking out the Pearl Scale Emperor’s eye.
And with that, the Pearl Scale Empire’s world conquering crusade ca to an end, and the Storm Queen and her knights returned to Undertow, where they were going to live out their days in peace.
But alas, the Floating Khan was a bitter and sore loser.
Not only did he rally what remained of his forces for an all out assault against Undertow, but he searched in the darkest corners of the world for power that could enable him to overpower the Queen and the kaijin.
The only cost being his very soul.
...
Side note:
The Storm Queen wasn’t exactly one for romance, except for...one ti.
This was an encounter that occurred when long after she beca known as such, and just a little after her duel with the Pearl Scale Emperor.
Whether this mont was a result of a mont of passion, or the inevitable result of years of knowing one another was unknown then and remains unknown.
However, what is known is that this mont resulted in a heir to the queen.
An heir that would disappear on the very sa day that Undertow saw it’s first crisis.
On the very sa day that the Storm Queen fell in defense of her kingdom, her people and her family.
Which leads to the question.
If the Storm Queen left an inheritance, could the daughter be the one to claim it?
