*Bing-Bong*
We interrupt this chapter to inform the reader of a minor detail change.
The writer of this work would like to make it known that the two humans turned into Kaijin had nad themselves Tusktara, the woman turned elephant, and Trigoose, the injured warrior turned into a goose version of the dark king Zahhak.
If this scene ever gets illustrated, we'll make the change be noted by a text box title change or sothing.
We now return to your regularly scheduled chapter, thank you.
...
Wow, how long has it been since we've put one of these at the front of a chapter.
|A long while. Trying to get back into form.|
I thought getting back into form involved less comntary from us and more actual content?
|Shut up.|

[And...ti! Too bad, noobies! Looks like the mortals have managed to run out the clock!]
[No!]
[Boooo! Boo!]
[Honestly, this is especially cruel! At least let the new recruits put them out of their misery.]
^Fucking...hell...^
^Guess there was a bell this ti...^
In the hollowed out pit that served as the fighting arena for the [Mines of Malevolence], a picture of abject misery was on full display.
For the past five minutes or so, aka the ti it took for the Kaijin and the Zhen Clan scions to finish their respective activities, Lythero and Olstenna were doing their absolute best to not get their shit kicked in by the two human turned Kaijin, Tusktara and Trigoose, respectively.
Unfortunately, they only managed to partially avoid this fate.
Despite Olstenna's best efforts to follow the rhythm of the three-headed goose Kaijin, he still got struck one in every three strikes.
If he didn't avoid getting punch in the stomach, he would get struck by one of the geese heads. Alternatively, if he managed to avoid both of the attacking geese, the bastard that they were attached to would go in for an attack.
While the purple-flad Aetherii managed to put up a good fight, even maintaining a battle-crazed look the entire ti, the adrenaline in his body was finally starting to peter out.
On the other side, Lythero managed to land over a dozen or so attacks, but they were way too shallow to do anything aningful against the elephant-like Tusktara.
Then again, it probably didn't help that his one application of [Chaos] involved the usage of his masters' swords and not his [Astra].
Due to this unfamiliarity, he ended up hindering his own attacks.
Making matters worse, Tusktara's attacks were mostly area-of-effect based. In other words, even when Lythero managed to dodge major attacks, he still got caught in the blast zone.
Thankfully, nothing embedded itself into Lythero's limbs, body or bones. His body did get battered by the shockwaves though.
The end result of this brutal beating, was that Olstenna was covered in a fuckton of bite marks that allowed blood to freely flow like an undamd river, while Lythero looked as if he went five rounds against a champion boxer.
In other words, if the battle hadn't been called when it did, Lythero and Olstenna would've ended up dead at the hands of these mutant bastards.
Life and fate had other plans, though. At least it would if the duo managed to maintain their cool long enough.
Shortly after the MC Kaijin made the announcent to stop the fighting, Tusktara and Trigoose let their displeasure be known.
[Huh?! Why are you interrupting my good ti? I was just about to send these fine gentlen to eternal bliss!] Tusktara roared.
[At least let us finish our al,]one of Trigoose's heads cried out.
[We're famished!]the other goose head called out in agreent.
Parroting their cries of annoyance, the kaijin in the stands began to demand for more violence as well.
However, the MC Kaijin was unmoved by these cries for violence...mostly.
[You idiots know the rules! The boss says that we can only have our fun in set intervals. No more, no less!] The MC Kaijin roared at the jeering crowd. [That is...unless the mortals present still want to fight? And I'm not talking about the cowards who ran around like headless chickens, you lot are allowed to return to your cells.]
"Wait, what?"
As soon as this announcent was made, the cage doors leading to the arena's halls opened up right next to where a majority of the cowering fighters were standing.
Unsurprisingly, a huge chunk of them ran inside.
"Wait, shouldn't we be here to try and assist?"
^In what way? Half of us can't do shit against them, and the other half is dead.^
