....

anwhile, in another part of the country, Jyothika too had gotten dragged into the IPL dia storm surrounding Karuppu.

She was currently in Mumbai for a comrcial advertisent shoot when one of the entertainnt channels approached her for a quick interview regarding:

family life after marriage,

Karthi's Paruthiveeran success,

And now Karuppu's IPL selection.

The interview clip soon began circulating across several Tamil news channels repeatedly throughout the evening.

Standing before the caras in a soft blue modern saree with her usual warm smile, Jyothika congratulated her brother-in-law openly.

"I'm very happy for him,"

She said genuinely.

"He worked really hard for both cricket and cinema."

Then laughing softly, she added.

"Honestly, our family itself sotis struggles to understand how he balances everything."

The interviewer imdiately asked whether the family planned any celebration after the IPL auction.

Jyothika smiled hearing his question.

"I ca to Mumbai for shooting. But I'll return soon and join everyone."

The channels repeatedly played that small clip through the day, especially because audiences genuinely loved the wholeso atmosphere surrounding the Sivakumar family now.

Unlike many celebrity families that appeared overly polished before caras…

This family sohow felt naturally chaotic and warm.

anwhile life slowly moved forward again.

The IPL excitent gradually settled into preparation mode.

And inside Chennai…

The shooting of SMS continued at full pace.

Over the next fifteen days after the auction, the crew pushed through schedule after schedule aggressively.

Because everyone knew a major break was approaching soon.

And before that happened, Rajesh desperately wanted to finish as much as possible.

Thankfully for him…

The production had been moving surprisingly smoothly.

More smoothly than anybody expected honestly.

Especially considering:

Karuppu's growing cricket commitnts,

nonstop dia attention,

And the crowded schedules of the actors.

Yet sohow the film kept progressing rapidly.

Day after day cody scenes, emotional argunts, friendship monts, romance sequences, and family portions were shot continuously across Chennai.

By now the chemistry between Karuppu, Tamannaah, and Santhanam had beco one of the strongest assets of the film.

Which if succeeds beco a major golden combo.

Even the crew had started saying openly during breaks.

"If the audience accepts these three together… the theaters will erupt."

Rajesh himself looked visibly more confident now compared to the nervous debut director from the pooja day.

Because every ti he replayed scenes from the monitor…

The movie felt entertaining. Not forced entertaining.

Naturally entertaining.

And that was much harder to achieve.

anwhile Karuppu had fully settled into Siva's skin.

At this point he no longer even needed long rehearsals for many scenes.

The body language itself had beco instinctive:

careless walking style,

Shaless confidence,

Emotional immaturity,

Sudden softness hidden beneath arrogance, and chaotic flirting.

Everything started flowing naturally now.

Tamannaah too had beco increasingly comfortable with Sakthi's emotional rhythm.

Initially she had approached the role carefully because Sakthi wasn't written like traditional "heroine."

The character constantly: argued, manipulated, beca emotional, fought back, and challenged Siva equally.

But now she was clearly enjoying the role fully.

Even Santhanam had beco inseparable from Karuppu between takes.

At one point assistant directors complained that both kept improvising extra cody lines during rehearsals and making the junior artists laugh uncontrollably.

As the schedules continued,

Rajesh finally sat down with the production team and reviewed the overall shooting progress.

The result genuinely surprised even him.

"...."

The film was already around: 85% completed.

Which was massive progress in such a short span.

Most of the primary story portions had already been finished train scenes, terrace fights, TASMAC cody, family sequences, radio station portions, emotional misunderstandings,

And major dialogue-heavy scenes.

What remained now were mainly the six songs, montage portions connected to those songs, a few emotional bridge scenes, and the climax schedule.

Once those were completed…

The film could officially wrap entirely.

However—There was one unavoidable problem now.

The IPL.

Karuppu's Mumbai Indians commitnts were about to begin fully.

Which ant the production had no choice except to temporarily pause.

And not just for a few days.

Almost two months.

When Rajesh heard the final scheduling reality properly, he nearly looked emotionally wounded.

Because for a debut director, montum mattered emotionally too.

When a film flowed continuously, energy remained alive.

But long breaks created uncertainty actor schedule changes, emotional continuity issues, appearance maintenance, and production delays.

Still…

There was no helping it.

Cricket now stood before them like another giant world pulling Karuppu away temporarily.

The final production eting before the break carried strangely mixed emotions.

Relief because most of the film was completed successfully.

But also frustration because everyone knew the remaining portions included so of the most important emotional monts of the movie.

Rajesh sighed dramatically while reviewing schedules.

"So close… yet interval block entered real life also."

Karuppu laughed hearing that.

"Good only. Audience realizes along with Siva that Shakti loves him through the thrown greeting cards she saved for him."

Rajesh imdiately pointed at him accusingly.

"You go play cricket peacefully. I'll suffer continuity tension here."

The whole crew laughed.

anwhile Tamannaah jokingly warned Karuppu before leaving the set that if he returned after IPL with different hairstyle or injured face,

She herself would complain to Mumbai Indians managent.

Santhanam added imdiately.

"If he cos back with six-pack body and attitude…"

"…I'm resigning."

Even the crew mbers laughed loudly because honestly…

Nobody knew what version of Karuppu would return after two months.

Actor? Cricket star? Or sothing even bigger.

As the final shot before the break wrapped successfully late that evening, the set slowly began emptying little by little.

Lights turned off one by one.

Equipnt got packed.

Assistant directors discussed pending schedules.

And Rajesh quietly stood near the monitor for a few extra seconds looking at the paused fra from the unfinished movie.

Eighty-five percent done.

Just a little more remaining.

Yet life itself had pressed pause temporarily.

Because now…

Before Siva could complete his love story—Karuppu first had to enter another battlefield entirely.

The IPL.

That evening, after returning ho from the final SMS schedule before the long break,

Karuppu finally felt the exhaustion settling into his body properly.

"...."

For the past several weeks his routine had beco completely relentless:

morning shoots, late-night dubbing discussions, IPL preparations, dia interviews, gym training, and constant travelling across Chennai locations.

Even soone with his energy eventually needed silence for a little while.

Outside the Sivakumar household, the weather itself had changed slowly through the evening.

Dark clouds gathered heavily over Chennai.

The air carried that familiar wet-earth sll before rainfall.

And soon—Rain finally started pouring steadily outside.

The soft sound of rain hitting tiled rooftops, nearby trees, parked vehicles, and balcony railings

filled the house comfortably and the sll of the wet soil.

Inside the hall, Karuppu had just changed into loose ho clothes and sat near the balcony doorway enjoying the cold atmosphere quietly.

A few monts later, Lakshmi walked toward him carrying exactly what she knew her youngest son loved during rainy evenings.

A steel tumbler of hot coffee.

And beside it—A small plate filled with Parle-G biscuits.

The mont Karuppu saw it, his face instantly brightened slightly.

"This,"

He declared dramatically while taking the tumbler,

"is peak human civilization."

Lakshmi rolled her eyes imdiately.

"You say sa dialogue every rain."

Still, she smiled while sitting nearby.

Karuppu dipped the Parle-G biscuit into the coffee carefully while watching the rain outside peacefully.

For a few rare monts…

There was no shooting tension, dia crowd, cricket pressure, or production discussion.

Just rain.

Coffee and biscuit.

And ho.

Then naturally—His mobile phone rang.

-Ring! -Ring!

Karuppu glanced toward the screen.

The caller ID displayed:

[Lalchand Rajput]

Imdiately his relaxed expression sharpened slightly.

Because cricket calls at this stage usually ant important updates.

He quickly attended it.

"Halo1 sir."

From the other side, Lalchand Rajput's calm voice ca through clearly.

After a few seconds of casual greetings and checking whether Karuppu had started preparation training already,

Rajput's tone slowly beca more serious.

"There's an important update."

Karuppu sat straighter now automatically.

Outside, thunder rumbled faintly in the background while rain continued falling heavily.

Rajput continued carefully.

"The IPL is most likely shifting to South Africa."

Karuppu's eyes narrowed slightly.

"...."

Even though the official announcent hadn't yet co publicly…

The possibility itself was huge.

Rajput explained the situation properly.

The Indian governnt currently could not guarantee enough paramilitary security forces for the tournant because of the national election period happening simultaneously.

And more importantly—The entire cricketing world was already shaken badly after the horrifying terror attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Pakistan earlier that year on March 3rd, 2009.

That incident had changed everything regarding international cricket security discussions.

No board wanted to take unnecessary risks now.

As Rajput explained the situation, even Lakshmi nearby slowly beca attentive hearing portions of the conversation.

Karuppu quietly listened without interrupting.

"...."

Finally Rajput added the reason for his call.

"Official announcent will co soon."

"But franchises were inford first."

"So preparations already started internally."

That ant the situation was practically confird already.

The IPL itself leaving India sounded surreal.

Yet given the circumstances…

It also made sense.

Rajput continued explaining the next steps clearly.

Within the next few days, mbers from Mumbai Indians managent would personally arrive at the Sivakumar household to collect the required docunts and coordinate travel arrangents.

"Keep your passport ready,"

He instructed him in advance.

"The managent will handle visa procedures quickly."

"Any additional docuntation also they'll inform."

Karuppu nodded imdiately.

-Nod!

"No problem sir. I'll arrange everything."

Rajput then briefly discussed:

tentative reporting tilines,

preparation camp adjustnts,

possible South African conditions,

And fitness expectations from the managent.

Before ending the call, he added one final line calmly:

"South African pitches will suit your bowling."

That sentence alone quietly sparked sothing inside Karuppu imdiately.

Because he understood exactly what Rajput ant.

Fast bounce.

Carry.

Pace-friendly conditions.

Potentially ideal environnt for aggressive fast bowling.

After another brief exchange, the call finally ended.

For several seconds afterward, Karuppu simply sat silently holding the now slightly cooled coffee tumbler while listening to the rain outside.

Inside his mind, things slowly started rearranging again.

Just today Chennai shoots, cody scenes, and movie schedules filled his thoughts.

Now suddenly—South Africa he will be going there.

IPL.

International-level pressure.

Franchise cricket.

New teammates.

Foreign conditions he needs to adapt.

Everything was shifting again. Which made him excited.

Lakshmi looked toward him carefully.

"What happened?"

Karuppu leaned back slowly before answering.

"IPL shifting to South Africa."

That imdiately surprised her.

"South Africa ah?"

He nodded his head as he started to explain in detail.

-Nods!

"Security issues here."

"The official announcent hasn't co yet."

"But franchises already inford."

Lakshmi remained quiet for a few monts processing it.

"...."

Even though her sons worked in cinema and travelled constantly…

Cricket still felt different sohow.

More unpredictable. More physically dangerous.

Especially after hearing about terror attacks and international security concerns on television recently.

anwhile from upstairs, Karthi's voice suddenly echoed loudly after overhearing part of the conversation.

"DEI!"

"Now you'll beco foreign-return fellow too?"

Imdiately Brindha shouted afterward showing she too was listening to the conversation.

"Bring chocolates from South Africa!"

Karuppu closed his eyes briefly hearing the chaos restarting again.

Peace inside this house truly lasted only two minutes maximum.

Still smiling faintly, he dipped another Parle-G biscuit into the coffee while staring out toward the heavy Chennai rain.

Because sowhere beyond that rain now…

Another journey was already waiting for him.

This ti—Not as Indian U-19 vice-captain.

Not as rising actor.

But as a Mumbai Indians player preparing to enter one of the biggest stages in franchise cricket.
