Just as Gao Xuan was about to speak, he heard lodious music begin to play, and a middle-aged man in a dragon robe walked to the main seat. He bowed to everyone in the great hall and said so polite remarks.

These guests all stood up, either cupping hands, bowing, or performing other gestures of respect, all babbling various words of flattery.

Undoubtedly, this middle-aged man was the Dragon Monarch.

After the Dragon Monarch took his seat, the music beca more lodious and light, and a beautiful young girl appeared.

The girl wore a golden crown and a golden red long skirt, her attire extrely elegant. Standing gracefully in the middle of the hall, she greeted the guests with dignity.

Seeing the Dragon Girl so beautiful, Hu You gritted her teeth, her face full of defiance.

She couldn’t help but ask Gao Xuan, "Who do you think is prettier, or her?"

Gao Xuan straightforwardly said, "The Dragon Girl is prettier."

Hu You was so angry her eyes widened and she bared her teeth, seemingly about to bite Gao Xuan.

Gao Xuan shrugged, saying, "Mainly because the Dragon Girl’s clothes and accessories are more glamorous. Maybe you’d look better without your clothes."

He glanced at Hu You, "However, I haven’t seen, so I can’t say."

Though young, Hu You was very clever. She snorted, "You n are the worst, always wanting to see my body. In your dreams..."

Gao Xuan ignored Hu You, he raised his wine glass and drank it in one gulp, then stood up and strode over to the Dragon Girl.

The Dragon Girl was calm and gave a slight smile to Gao Xuan. Although Gao Xuan was poorly dressed, his deanor and appearance were quite extraordinary. Even if his actions were abrupt, they did not lead to unpleasant feelings.

The many guests in the great hall watched Gao Xuan, not quite understanding what this reckless man intended to do.

Gao Xuan bowed to the Dragon Monarch and said, "I am Gao Xuan, I’ve t the Dragon Monarch."

He paused and then said loudly, "Today, I am honored to celebrate the Dragon Girl’s birthday, and inspiration suddenly struck . I would like to compose an ode for Her Highness the Dragon Girl..."

Before the Dragon Monarch could speak, Gao Xuan began reciting: "Ah, how exquisite the Dragon Girl is, ethereal like the veiled moon within light clouds, graceful as drifting snow upon the wind.

From afar, she resembles the sun rising through morning clouds; when observed closely, as radiant as a lotus erging from clear waters. Graceful and slender, perfect proportions. Shoulders like they were carved, waist as if bound by silk. A fair neck extending with elegance, revealing pure whiteness. No embellishnt could enhance, nor costics improve her. Hair coiled high in clouds, slender brows delicately linked.

Luminous lips bright outside, gleaming teeth fresh within. Sparkling eyes, captivating with each glance. Divine deanor, elegant leisure. Draped in resplendent brocade, wearing jade and erald adornnts. Donning gold and erald jewelry, adorned with pearls to dazzle.

"Her beauty is unparalleled, and her elegance is limitless."

Gao Xuan recited an elaborate and florid ode, and although the demons present didn’t quite understand, even the Dragon Monarch and Dragon Girl only grasped about seventy to eighty percent.

Even so, they understood that Gao Xuan’s recitation showcased the beauty of words. They realized Gao Xuan was extolling the Dragon Girl’s beauty.

Such literary brilliance even stunned the Dragon Monarch.

In this ancient world, words carried all knowledge. Those who mastered words held power.

Literati held the highest status. Even Divines, in actual influence, couldn’t compare to the literary class.

Gao Xuan had directly stolen snippets from Divine Maiden’s Poem and Luoshen Fu, and the effect was imdiate and overwhelming.

Gao Xuan inherited the original host’s mory, having little understanding of this world, yet it was enough.

Anyway, presenting an ode to flatter, even if the other party didn’t fully understand, wouldn’t cause trouble. As for whether they’d notice any issues, Gao Xuan thought they lacked the level.

An ode’s form allows relative freedom, though it involves couplets it’s unlike poetry.

Indeed, the ode passionately flattered the Dragon Girl, and the result was very good.

As for what benefits might co, Gao Xuan didn’t know. But such a significant person as the Dragon Monarch wouldn’t leave him unrewarded, surely.

It’s said that everyone has two or three opportunities in life to change their destiny.

Gao Xuan felt this might be a chance to change his destiny. Regardless, trying couldn’t hurt.

Anyway, a bunch of country bumpkin demons, swindling them carried no pressure at all.

When Gao Xuan finished, the Dragon Monarch was indeed pleased, while the Dragon Girl didn’t smile, her gaze at Gao Xuan was full of admiration.

"Such a masterpiece deserves a reward."

The Dragon Monarch flicked his sleeve and a Golden Core, the size of an egg, fell before Gao Xuan, "This is a Pure Yang Golden Core, upon refining it, you may ascend to immortality."

Gao Xuan was slightly surprised, the Dragon Monarch was very generous. He reached out to take it, and as soon as the Golden Core t his hand, it transford into a golden light that entered his brow, leaving a faint golden mark there.

All the guests in the great hall looked at Gao Xuan, their gazes filled with envy and jealousy, so even had malice.

The Dragon Monarch smiled and said: "This Pure Yang Golden Core has its intricacies, requiring thirty years of ditation with Heart Fire to refine. In that ti, you must not speak. If you speak to anyone, the core will transfer to them."

Gao Xuan felt a bit frustrated, becoming immortal in this world is of little use, not speaking for thirty years could drive soone crazy.

However, it’s fortunate the Golden Core can be transferred to soone else.

Just as he thought this, the Dragon Monarch added, "Once the core is transferred, your Essence Qi will be taken by the core, and you’ll die for sure."

Gao Xuan was speechless, there was such a trick. He suspected the Dragon Monarch was deliberately retaliating.

Other demons were excited, just getting Gao Xuan to speak would let them seize the Golden Core, how easy that seed.

The Dragon Monarch knew what these demons were thinking, he calmly said, "The Golden Core must not be forcibly taken, only transferred voluntarily. Moreover, anyone who gives Daoist Gao a hard ti is giving a hard ti."

Li Yang Dragon Monarch, who controlled a thousand miles of water veins, with vast Divine Techniques. A group of little demons wouldn’t dare oppose Li Yang Dragon Monarch.

Furthermore, Gao Xuan must volunteer to transfer the Golden Core.

The many demons had a look of frustration, realizing they had no chance.

Henceforth, Gao Xuan could no longer speak.

When Gao Xuan returned to his seat, Hu You sidled up to him, smiling and saying, "Daoist, your literary talent is exceptional, truly impressive."

Gao Xuan glanced at Hu You and smiled, dipping his finger in water to write a few words on the table: Little fox, dreaming of getting the Golden Core with just a few words.

Hu You’s face turned red at his words, she pouted, determined in her heart, I’m taking that Golden Core for sure!
