In the sky, a majestic eagle soared high, letting out sharp and mournful cries that pierced the vast sky, seemingly overlooking this human farce with a touch of mockery.

In the distance, the mountain peaks were shrouded in mist, dreamlike and ethereal, as if a mysterious Immortal Realm apart from the world, forming a stark contrast with the tense standoff before them.

Wu Zhong’s eyes widened in fury upon hearing this, his eyes bulging like copper bells, seemingly about to spew fire.

The veins on his face bulged, like angry little snakes writhing, ready to break free of their bonds.

He took a sudden step forward, the dried branches beneath his feet cracking heavily, as if cheering for his rage.

Pointing at Liu Tingting, he shouted angrily, "You shaless scoundrel! How dare you spout such outrageous lies? How could Brother Shi have a marriage contract with you? Are you trying your old trick again, setting a trap to fra us?"

His voice rang sharply across the silent and open battlefield, like a thunderclap, causing the surrounding air to tremble with anger and disdain.

The roar startled several birds perched on the branches, causing them to flap their wings and flee in panic, rustling leaves in their wake, the whole forest disturbed by his anger.

Just then, a fierce wind suddenly howled through, making the surrounding trees sway violently, their branches clashing with loud "crack-pow" sounds, also roaring in support of Wu Zhong’s anger.

A sudden mist surged in the valley, white and dense, enveloping everyone like a tide, making vision instantly blurry, intensifying the tense and eerie atmosphere like being in a mysterious and unpredictable labyrinth.

Liu Tingting’s heart tightened, but being ticulous, she quickly cald herself, pondering, "This old guy is really tricky, but it doesn’t matter, as long as Shi Feiyang doesn’t expose , whatever I say goes. He still doesn’t know I’m here, and when he arrives, it will be too late for him to deny."

She lightly bit her lip, showing an aggrieved expression, pitiful enough to evoke sympathy, "Hero Wu, how can you say that? My feelings for Feiyang are as clear as day. We’ve long been in love, just haven’t made it public until now."

At this mont, a dark cloud slowly drifted by, like a massive curtain blocking out the sunlight, making the atmosphere increasingly oppressive and heavy, like a giant stone weighing on everyone’s heart.

The edge of the dark clouds revealed a somber lead-gray, ready to descend and swallow everyone at any mont.

Just then, a brilliant rainbow stretched across the sky, one end connecting the distant mountain peaks, the other disappearing into the clouds, a scene ant to be beautiful, yet seeming out of place in the tense atmosphere filled with suspicion, like fate’s mockery.

At this mont, Yili, Shi Feiyang, and others, after defeating the bandits at the mountain base, arrived.

Yili froze upon hearing Liu Tingting’s words, as though stopped by an invisible barrier, rooted to the spot.

Her face instantly turned paper-white, bloodless, like winter frost.

Her lips trembled slightly, like leaves shivering in the cold wind.

Her eyes were full of disbelief and pain, tears welled but stubbornly refused to fall.

Her heart churned like a stormy sea, "How could this be? How could he be engaged to her? Have I been wrong all along? Those tis spent with him, those gentle glances, were they all my illusions?"

Such thoughts swirled in her mind like daggers, stabbing her heart with pain.

Yili felt a wave of dizziness, the world spinning, her ntal fortress collapsing with a crash.

At this mont, the mountain wind suddenly intensified, making the trees rustle, like a sad elegy, seemingly mourning for her pain.

From the horizon ca faint sounds of muffled thunder, deep and oppressive, as if heralding an impending greater storm.

In a mountain pool, the surface was once calm as a mirror, now whipped into ripples by the fierce wind, just like Yili’s tumultuous heart, unable to calm for a long ti.

Shi Feiyang was montarily stunned upon hearing Liu Tingting’s words, as if frozen by a Body Stasis Spell, standing still at the spot.

His eyes widened like copper bells, filled with shock and bewildernt, as though caught in a sudden storm, at a loss. He could hardly imagine Liu Tingting daring to publicly spout such base, shaless, and truth-twisting words.

In an instant, his mind went blank, unable to react, his heart like a lit powder keg, filled with anger and helplessness.

Shi Feiyang’s hands tightened involuntarily, his knuckles turning white from the force, as if trying to crush the air, but then slowly relaxing, seemingly suppressing the impending burst of fury within.

On the ground beside him lay several corpses from the recent battle, their blood yet to dry, like winding streams spreading across the soil, emitting a pungent stench, adding a sense of chilling killing intent.

The sunlight was completely blocked by thick clouds, the world seemingly plunged into endless night, everything shrouded in twilight, even the air seed viscous and stagnant, making breathing difficult.

And not far away on the cliff, the naturally ford cave, its entrance deep and dark, like the mouth of a lurking beast, exuding a chilling aura, further highlighting the oppressive and deathly silence of the atmosphere.
