"Here are the sorted files of Eric, the drug lord, sir." Vincent put down the thumb drive on the desk and stepped away.
Captain Hugle picked up the drive and imdiately made the copy on his computer and checked. He then let out a disgusted noise.
The captain’s feeling was shared by the other two n inside.
Eric was one of the high ranking drug lords in the city. He had been captured and put inside the jail many tis but due to his wealth and money, he was let out.
Even when the justice’s filled judge put him into the trial, he escaped from the prison.
"Good job, kid." The captain said, looking through the files carefully. His eyes lingered on the screen and nodded.
"Any plan on capturing him?" Vincent asked with a frown. They waited for five hours and the warrant didn’t arrive yet.
At this rate, the chance of the information leaking to Eric beca higher. Vincent didn’t want that to happen. He had seen what kind of person Eric was.
Soone who didn’t deserve to see the light of the sun. Soone who didn’t deserve to breathe the sa air as humans or animals. He should rot in so corner of earth or stay in hell.
A phone rang, this ti it was from the captain.
The captain raised a finger and pulled it closer to his lips, signalling the two detectives to not speak a word.
Vincent and Jason both nodded, going as far as holding in a breath. The tension perated into the atmosphere in the room. The temperature cooled down almost as if soone turned off the heater.
"Yes...I understand.....yes...... .sure...... .but...I see ... .thank you for the trouble, sir."
Captain Hugle hung up the phone and looked at the two detectives, his eyes burning with intense emotions which Vincent couldn’t read.
For the first ti, he felt that he couldn’t read through a person clearly. He gulped and waited.
"The warrant has arrived."
"Fuck yeah."
"Yes."
Vincent and Jason both celebrated by pumping up their fists in the air.
"Don’t celebrate too early, my n." Captain Hugle said, the corner of his mouth lifting up into a soft smile.
"Co on, we will go to the weaponry."
"Are you coming with us, sir?" Jason asked.
"No, even if I wanted to, I will just be another body with my age and physique."
Vincent nodded. The captain frowned at that and scoffed.
He walked past the two n and specifically bumped Vincent’s shoulder hard. Vincent winced with a smile. He knew that he got on the captain’s nerve.
Jason sighed and followed the captain.
The three of them arrived at the basent where the weaponry station took hold.
On the way, the captain explained the details of the raid.
From Silas’s information, they knew about this week’s schedule for Eric. Since they were going to strike today, Vincent pulled out the information from his head.
The place was a night club owned by one of Eric’s fake aliases. Vincent liked the chance of the raid a lot.
Since Eric was going to spend in his territory, his guards would go lower as well.
"He has one superpowered individual called Rhino. From the na, you can guess that he has the ability of Rhino. Since he is a superpowered human, the bullet won’t work." The captain said.
"The plasma gun can work right?" Vincent asked.
"Yeah but from my experiences the chance of you successfully firing that thing was low. Very low to the fact that it was non-existent." Jason added, taking out the cigarette and lighting up.
"You can guess why."
Vincent nodded. EMP. Electromagnetic Pulse weapon. Normally, those types of things were used by the military but since the world is filled with high tech, even a street thug had those.
"Modified EMP. They specifically target the weapon that uses plasma. I don’t know the technical details but only those kinds of weapons are effective." Jason said.
"Fuck ." Vincent cursed, smacking his head. "I only trained with the plasma gun."
"Haha. Rookie mistake but don’t worry, I will give you a quick lesson. Since you learned to shoot the plasma gun, the regular gun should be easy."
"I hope so. Hey, chief." Vincent called Captain Hugle. "Do I need to participate in the battle? Like Jason said, "I am a rookie."
"Now,you are pulling those cards." The captain smirked.
Then, he shook his head with a sigh. "I am sorry, you need to participate. I know, it is a dangerous environnt and normally, you will be in the background but this ti is different."
"The governnt only put up three n to this task."
"Three n?" Jason raised his voice. "That is absurd and stupid."
"Yeah but since they make the decision, it must be a good one." The captain said.
Vincent frowned. "Can they see the future? Those higher up in the governnt."
"I am surprised that you can pick up on this, kid." Captain Hugle said. "No wonder, Nathan took you as a partner."
Vincent scratched the back of his head in embarrassnt. "Just a crude guess, sir. Nathan drilled my head to think unconventionally."
Captain Hugle nodded. "But you are right, this ti. In the higher up, there is one person who can make the prediction. Since they only allowed three people, they must be confident. I had my doubts in the past but I experienced it myself so I trusted those experiences."
Vincent nodded. "I will. Are you sure that you can disclose this kind of information to ?"
"Haha, almost everyone here knows of it. Not officially it they can pick up on it after a few tis. Right, Jason?"
"Yeah." Jason agreed. "But I still don’t like the ideas of three n doing the raid."
"To be specific, two ordinary detectives and one superhero."
"Which rank?" Jason asked.
"C."
"Hmm... can we pick the hero?"
"You can only have a few heroes available currently."
"Fuck us."
They arrived at the weaponry and showered with the endless rows of weapons and armors.
"Woah." Vincent exclaid in surprise.
"Pick anything you want but listen to the advisor." The captain said, tilting his head to the old man who was sitting in the corner of the weaponry.
