Konoha: I’m Naruto’s Brother — Gilgamesh Chapter 34 34: Hypocritical Benevolence and Making Full Use
Kakashi Hatake carried Uzumaki Shuji to Konoha Hospital and handed him over to the dical-nin for treatnt.
Several of Kakashi's teammates were admitted as well.
The mont the dical-nin prepared to examine Uzumaki Shuji, he conveniently woke up.
With no obvious symptoms, they could only perform a routine checkup.
The results showed that the boy was in excellent health.
Aside from a few minor scrapes, he was completely unhard.
Kakashi's subordinates were in far worse condition.
Although they hadn't been struck by Tsukuyomi, even ordinary genjutsu was enough to leave them with splitting headaches, forcing them to remain in the hospital for treatnt.
"Lord Third."
"Uzumaki Shuji is safe, but Itachi Uchiha escaped. At the ti, my subordinates…"
In the hospital corridor, Kakashi reported to Hiruzen Sarutobi.
The battle had put him under trendous pressure.
Most importantly, Itachi had been holding a hostage.
Still, there was one detail Kakashi couldn't ignore.
Itachi never seed to harbor any killing intent.
Nor had he treated Uzumaki Shuji particularly harshly.
Several tis, when their own attacks nearly struck Uzumaki Shuji, Itachi had actually moved to block them.
"I understand."
"As long as the child is unhard, that's what matters."
"Others will deal with Itachi."
"For now, your priority is to protect this boy."
Hiruzen spoke calmly.
So the plan had failed?
It was still too early to know for sure. He would need to hear Danzo's report first.
But one thing bothered him.
Uzumaki Shuji had been rescued by Kakashi—not handed over by Danzo.
Had sothing gone wrong with Itachi?
"Yes, sir."
Kakashi nodded and said nothing further.
Afterward, Hiruzen entered Uzumaki Shuji's room to check on him before quietly leaving.
"What a hypocritical old bastard."
Uzumaki Shuji lay on the hospital bed with a calm expression.
But inside, his thoughts were ice-cold.
He was already planning how to accelerate his next moves.
These people devoted all their energy to scheming against their own allies.
If Konoha had been more like Kumogakure—focused on expansion and external threats instead of internal power struggles—the village might actually have been united.
…
"So, you failed to capture the target, and your secondary mission also failed."
Danzo Shimura glared at Itachi, his expression dark and vicious.
This operation had been ant to kill two birds with one stone.
Expose the Uzumaki survivor hiding in the shadows.
Fra the Uchiha in the process.
And, as a bonus, bring Uzumaki Shuji under his control.
Instead, two objectives had failed.
Only the effort to sar the Uchiha still had so chance of succeeding.
"Yes, Lord Danzo."
Itachi bowed his head respectfully, looking every bit the obedient subordinate.
But after witnessing Uzumaki Shuji's abilities, his opinion of Konoha's leadership had changed drastically.
These n were obsessed with infighting.
That said, the Uchiha clan had indeed been plagued by its own problems.
Still, his father's recent efforts had stabilized things considerably.
And yet Konoha refused to let the matter go.
"You can no longer remain in the village."
"As originally planned, join that man calling himself Uchiha Madara."
"Monitor him and gather intelligence."
"And determine whether the Uchiha are collaborating with him."
Danzo desperately wanted to kill Itachi on the spot.
But he couldn't.
Itachi still had value.
The man calling himself Madara was too dangerous to ignore.
Danzo had never fully trusted Itachi's loyalty.
But he understood one thing very well.
As long as he controlled Itachi's weakness, the boy had no choice but to obey.
That weakness was his family.
And the entire Uchiha clan.
Still, Danzo took one final precaution.
"This cursed seal will destroy your brain if you reveal any information about ."
"Go."
Cursed seals were Danzo's specialty.
They were ideal tools for controlling subordinates.
Combined with threats against their families, they ensured complete obedience.
Itachi vanished from Danzo's sight at once.
"I only hope I made the right choice."
Even Itachi couldn't see what the future held.
He could only hope that abandoning his plan to massacre the Uchiha and placing his faith in a new path would save his clan.
But what would beco of Konoha?
That was the one thing he couldn't predict.
Would that child beco the next Hokage and truly change everything?
…
Two days passed.
The village gradually returned to normal.
Uzumaki Shuji underwent an exhaustive series of examinations.
They searched for cursed seals, hidden genjutsu, and any other abnormalities.
In the end, they found only one unusual detail.
The child's physical condition was extraordinarily good.
Nothing else.
When he finally returned ho, Naruto Uzumaki burst into tears.
Uzumaki Shuji was Naruto's only family.
His only support.
When Naruto heard that sothing had happened to his brother, he had nearly lost control.
The Anbu watching him were genuinely alard.
That incident convinced Hiruzen to release Uzumaki Shuji imdiately.
Otherwise, he had intended to keep the boy under observation for a while longer before deciding whether to use him as bait again.
"It's okay."
"I'm really strong, rember?"
"You have to trust ."
Uzumaki Shuji gently rubbed Naruto's head as he comforted him.
This incident had completely ignited his anger.
And now, he was fully prepared to stir Konoha into utter chaos.
